Ordered for the first time today. Food got to me quickly BUT they sent a chicken fajita instead of the California wrap I ordered. Got on the phone and spoke with Kerry, they sent over the right wrap a few minutes later. Everything was tasty and the food along with the quick service to fix the order was terrific. Thanks EK!

Ordered a bison burger. I requested medium or rare… it was a hockey puck. Almost flavorless. I ordered guacamole… no flavor. I ordered spinach… it’s literally steamed spinach. No garlic. No flavor. The sweet potato was very good. But that’s it. I get they are healthy. But it should say in big letters NOSALTADDED. LIMITEDFLAVOR. If you’re cool eating just for nutrients — not taste — this is the place to eat!

I had a delicious veggie burger, it was better than a meat burger. Quick. Clean and everything under 500 cal. Will come again

I am giving one star not because of the quality of food, but because of the abysmal track record of slow delivery. The trend towards slower and slower delivery has gotten so bad that I am compelled to write a bad review. Today my food took one and a half hours to arrive. The smoothies were almost completely separated. I live three blocks from the 47th street location. This is completely unacceptable. I am a big fan of the food, so I order from Energy Kitchen often despite the slow delivery. Typically, the delivery takes approximately one hour, which is ridiculous in itself, but I give them a break because the food is usually very good. However, I have given up on ordering the baked fries for delivery, because they are guaranteed to be soggy on arrival. I really wish they would step up their game. I order delivery from many places in the neighborhood, and rain, snow or shine, they deliver under 45 min. Often in 30 minutes. I may still go into the store for pickup, because I do like the food, but Energy Kitchen, you have lost a delivery customer. Enough is enough.

And so the«ordering delivery to the office and Unilocaling while eating» trend continues! Let’s start at a 3-star review, and see where we go :-) Today, I’ve ordered a bison cheesesteak wrap, with sides of blackbean and mango salad, and creamed spinach. Let’s see… :-) Deliver took half the projected time! .5-star upgrade for that! Amply-sized lunch portions and nifty container. .5 up! The creamed spinach was lovely! One of my favs… so I’m very picky about it. Loved it! At first sight, I thought, «hmm…more like blackbean and a hint of mango salad…» Til I took the first bite and realized how overpowering the mango would be if it were more present. The blend is perfect! There are accents of red onion, red bell pepper, and cilantro throughout. But just hints. Really yummy! The wrap itself? Solid. I love me some bison! I get worried with new places, because it’s a leaner meat and can dry out really easily. Their bison wasn’t the most moist I’ve had, but didn’t cross too far in to dry. The definitely jam as many fillings in as they can. I would like an option for a different cheese(a nice sharp cheddar?) to help out the flavor in this burrito, as some bites are kinda lacking(I assume the bison isn’t flavored before or during grilling). But it was still a nice option. I’m gonna go ahead and bump them up to a full 4-star review! Definitely good for lunch delivery. Feels quite healthful going down, and not horrid on the wallet, in this area of town, at least ;-)

Usually when it comes to health food, I grit and bear it. Health food is typically flavorless slop that makes me just wish I were eating a juicy, greasy hamburger or a piece of chocolate cake. What is wonderful about this place is that I come away feeling absolutely satisfied. They have a good variety of sandwiches and they’re all pretty filling and somehow, magically, less that 500 calories. Every morning I grab me there breakfast sandwich, which has turkey bacon and cheese, oh yeah, and FIVE egg whites(all on a multigrain English muffin). I love that thing. It sometimes it what motivates me to wake up in the morning and go to work. My only complain is that the drinks there are way overpriced. I usually just get a drink elsewhere.

Great smoothies(meal replacement shakes), a good value compared to some of the other locations in the area. The food is fairly priced, but the portions are small to keep the calories low. It makes it a bit difficult to really manage your calories when you end up eating a large meal with two sides because the main course wasn’t large enough. The service at this location has always been fantastic. They are fairly quick and extremely friendly. I’ve never seen it crowded, so it’s a good place to grab a seat and enjoy a meal, and it’s tucked off of 9th avenue on 47th street so it’s a pretty quiet area.

meh, not impressed at all! I do believe its possible to have tasty healthy food, but energy kitchen just doesn’t do it for me. The wrap I had was merely okay. The asparagus salad seemed soggy… if that’s possible. I did sort of enjoy the mashed sweet potatoes, but I still think they were too sweet… making me wonder, did they add sugar to these? Over all, I will not be going back, especially when Fuel is just around the corner and provides similar, but better quality and tastier items.

Maintaining your girlish figure at a sedentary job in Manhattan is damn hard. Much of the time you end up choosing one or two restaurants you trust for your lunch take-out and stick to them, afraid that any other joint will hand you too many extra calories with that new sandwich. But sometimes you want variety, and sometimes you want to FEEL like you’re eating fast food, even if you’re not. And that’s pretty much what Energy Kitchen gives you: it’s fast food that isn’t fat food. It’s cheap, fast, packaged just like Burger King or McDonald’s would be in satisfyingly crinkly paper, but lacking more than HALF of the fat and calories. So all in all it’s not bad when you want to hold a burger in your hands without the guilt. That being said, I would not get their baked fries because they are soggy and tasteless. Their veggie burger is great and so are their smoothies. Next time I’ll probably try the sweet-potato mash for my side. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you aren’t used to healthy foods; this place probably gives healthy food a bad rep in terms of taste. There are so many tasty healthy foods out there, but just as I’d never send someone who’s never had a gourmet burger before to McDonald’s, I wouldn’t send a vege-neub to Energy Kitchen first.

So this place has an amazing Bison Wrap. If you are feeling like a healthier alternative to the steak and cheese, it comes highly recommended. The cheese and onions grilled with the bison make for a tasty treat for an on the go lunch. They also have some tasty mashed sweet potatoes. Thanks for reading and enjoy.

Its just eating at a health conscious fast food chain… Almost like… Subway with burgers… If the majority of subway sandwiches weren’t bad for you anyway… While I wasn’t overly impressed by the food, I am impressed by the fact that most meals here run about 500 – 600 calories… Fact of the matter is, don’t eat here for the flavor, and tastiness… Go to one of the other great burger joints in the neighborhood for that… Eat here to cut back on your fat-ness.

Oh Energy Kitchen. I have given you too many chances. I really wanted to like you. Atmosphere: I have only ordered to go. It’s not really comfy in there and is always empty. Also has a loud smoothie machine. Annoying. Food: They charged me extra for onion on the veggie burger even though it says on the menu that it comes with onion. Ummmm what? They also had a special once for free fries with a burger order and I didn’t get no fries! The fries are mushy anyway. They did me a service by not adding them. Another time, I got like half a burger bun. Wtf people? Who is making the food here? I won’t order from them ever again. I have given them too many chances already and am always disappointed!

I love Energy Kitchen! I’ve ordered from them a few times now and have really been pleased with the food. I’m a big fan of the veggie tuna wrap, the mashed sweet potatoes, and the asparagus salad. All are tasty and filling, and nothing on the menu is terribly pricey. I count calories and watch my weight, and it’s wonderful to eat a take-out meal and not be worrying about how many calories or grams of fat I’m consuming. The delivery service is speedy. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again and again!

Soo. I’m on my 4th week with weight watchers and was excited when this place was recommended by a fellow ww. After I looked up the points, I went with the bison burger, a side of mashed sweet potato and a side garden salad which all came out $ 15(inc. tip) The food came in half an hour… unfortunately deliver boy can’t tell the difference between the number 5 and 2, because I get a phone call from the 2nd fl saying that my food is there and to come down… *sigh*… Anywhooo. back to the review. The packaging of the food was packaged in a bento/lunch tray way, which is interesting and i love that it wasn’t messy! The burger surprised me because it was actually pretty good and cooked a perfect medium. The sweet potato was delicious and not over seasoned. The salad wasn’t bad but it didnt stand out either, it kinda reminded me of fast food salad though. maybe I’ll try a different option in the future. Sooo. just for fun, I posted a pic of my meal with weight watcher points** **DISCLAIMER: Please note that above review was not endorsed by Weight Watchers nor was it written to promote the company. OK, OK, OK. I know the delivery area for this location says to 34th St., but I had to be the annoying girl to call and ask«Do you deliver to 33rd?» And they do!(Some places are strict with their policies so I was happy this EK isn’t.) I was super excited to try an ostrich burger that I saw my friend rave on and on about on FB. Lo and behold, there was no such option on the website from this locale. *sad face* Battling a ridiculous hangover, I wanted a burger but wasn’t prepared to consume 1,500+ calories on a burger and fries from the diner on 34th. EK saved the day in that area! With tax and tip, the order came to about $ 16 for a sirloin burger with turkey bacon, smashed sweet potatoes and asparagus salad. A little pricey for burger delivery, but I probably would have spent just a dollar or two less ordering from the greasy diner. The $ 5 off coupon from FB really made me feel better about chucking this type of cash for a bite to eat while at work from a place I’d never been to, eaten from or seen. Now, to the food review. The burger was nicely charred(as was the bun) so it had a nice, grilled flavor. But since I like my meat well done, I always have the issue with dry burgers. This was no exception. The sweet potatoes were DELISH and I wish I had gotten both sides of this. Avoid the asparagus salad — it’s drenched in some sort of citrus-y juices and it just doesn’t taste good. I like my asparagus steamed, warm, slightly tender but crunchy. This just wasn’t that. The delivery time was standard(seemed like forever) but was within the first 10 minutes of the lower side of the delivery window(does that make sense?). They definitely cover their asses by providing a 30 minute window for when the order will come. The packaging is pretty adorable, with the plastic bag all tied up like a little present. The prices could be a little cheaper and the burgers a little more juicy, but it’s worth it to chuck out a few more dollars and be happy after eating a healthy meal instead of feeling guilty. I like not having to calculate how much extra gym time I have to put in after a takeout dinner. +1EK

I came here due to the promo Energy Kitchen had with the five boro bike tour — free smoothie when you come in with your bib. I had the peanut better smoothie and it was pretty good. It didn’t taste too much like a milk shake if you’re expecting a dessert smoothie. The workers were friendly and helpful. I’m a bit surprised by this location. It’s located in between 9th and 8th ave, and it doesn’t seem like the best of locations. But I guess if you’re local and want something healthy that won’t break the bank, this place is great.

I had the bbq quesadilla here which I actually thought was a wrap like the majority of the menu but turned out to be an actual quesadilla. It came out fairly hot. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t amazing. Interesting that they only have diet drinks and crystal light. I have never been a big fan of crystal light(my mom used to buy it at home along with. prune juice). Maybe provide fresh juices or vitamin water instead? Service was quick + the cashier came out to our table to ask us if we needed any boxes for take out.

Yo ho ho, I am a fan. Things that make me a fan: creamed spinach, crystal light, turkey meatloaf. steamed spinach. burger. It’s teh awesome to order lunch and know you’re not gonna get all fat-carbed out. Although, I can not lie, the salad dressings are teh SUCK. Yuck. I hate that pseudo-corn syrupy-sweet flavored crap.

This review is based on DELIVERY only. The Food: 4 stars Delivery Time: 2 stars Customer Service: 2 stars I love their bison burger and they have some of the best sides in town. All said and done, if you want some«healthy» food that is fairly low-cal and has some amazing flavor, you can’t go wrong. Just don’t expect lightning fast delivery. And when something DOES get messed up, the indifference of the employees will make you want to smack the crap out of someone.

This place just sucks. I’ve given it a few tries with breakfast and lunch and have come up with the same outcome each time. The food is bland and the service is not nice. Just because something is healthy doesn’t mean it has to be bland and simply flavorless. I like healthy food, but this place needs to learn about seasonings.
