Great place for burgers and beer and I love their unique flavors! This location is great! It’s right in the middle of the heartland of NYC!

Bareburger is great! They’ve got so many options for delicious & messy burgers, sandwiches, sides, and fried things. How have I never heard of this chain before? It seems like they’re another one of those businesses that blossomed out of the last global financial crisis. Since then they’ve become wildly successful and gone global. Good for you, Bareburger! We entered and were quickly seated upstairs in a small seating area. Our waiter seemed a little inexperienced, but he was very nice and very informative. He started off by telling us about Bareburger’s stance on using quality meat, all organic ingredients, etc. While I’m appreciative of the information, I’m not a stickler for organic food. We ordered … $ 8.80 Duck Duck Gouda — duck bacon, gouda, fried egg, tomato fig jam: Very good, fancy version of a bacon & egg sandwich. This would be a great breakfast sandwich. I couldn’t really taste duck in the duck bacon. The brioche bun was toasted and nicely soaked up all the grease, fat, and egg yolk. $ 11.80 Supreme — beef, colby, country bacon, green leaf, onion rings, chopped fries, sauce: This is one heck of a burger. The patty was big and juicy. The cheese was nicely melted over the patty. You get a nice leaf of lettuce, not that shredded crap. The most obvious thing about this burger — man you get a lot of onion rings. One inside the sandwich would have been enough for me. The two onion rings stacked on top of the bun looks interesting, but you end up eating it separately anyway, so it was kind of unnecessary stacking. Plus it squashes the bun the top. We also shared some onion rings and fries, which ended up being too much food for us. The fried stuff was good, but I thought the fried options are rather expensive. The food here is delicious. You can build or customize your own burger if you like. As for me, if I wanted to do that, I would have stayed home. They also have other interesting meat options like elk, boar, and bison. I’m interested in trying those next time. Heck, I’ll just order delivery since they have so many locations. Stuffing myself at home in my sweatpants sounds like a good option.

Wow, very good El Matador burger! A group of us from my office went out for lunch here, the staff were extremely helpful, each of us pretty much ordered something different, but the menu is full of gems, we didn’t manage to snatch one of each from it. I look forward to drop by a few times to try other things from the menu. My burger came with medium bison, the bun was so soft, the cheese went so well with the meat while it didn’t overpower the taste. The only complaint I had was that the meat was not warm, and everyone else said the same. I’ve had warmer if not hot & fresh off the pan meat at other burger places. It’s still very good. ORDERTHOSESIDES! We had fried spicy pickles, these were so buttery inside but spicy and crispy on the outside. The sweet fries were also seasoned, those onion rings… omg so crispy and flavorful. I usually don’t eat onion rings but I had two because the four dippings they came in paired very well. My coworker is health conscious, she ordered a chicken salad, she gave very good compliments too. Everything they serve here was organic, it was not super greasy, just moderate. The décor is pretty cool, oh that lemonade, is not sugar-sweet but it’s got a fresh taste. Overall great burger place.

On our last day in NYC, I wanted to try another famous cheeseburger. After seeing this named one of «The Next Burger Superstar Chains» by an article, I had to stop in. After all, how could I call myself a burger connoisseur if I didn’t? The restaurant is definitely trendy and unique. The artwork on the walls was fun and I felt like it would be a great place for a beer. We were in a little bit of a rush, but there were only a few other tables so it wasn’t a problem. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. This is where the two stars come from. Was the food good? Yes. Was it great? No. I ordered the bison burger with a few standard toppings. We paid extra for a «special sauce» that I couldn’t even taste or see, so ended up using their special ketchup as well. I just wasn’t impressed. Just to note: We visited this location on a Tuesday at lunch hour. Assuming they attract not only tourists, but also business people on their lunch breaks, we were caught a little off guard because both of their large screen tv’s were playing Nickelodeon cartoons. And not old style cartoons like Looney Toons. We are talking Paw Patrol and Sofia the First(don’t judge that I know the shows). We even asked if that was usual for them to be playing, and were told that it was. Weird?

Took the advice below and finally found a proper veggie burger in midtown! I’ve tried a lot of them around town, but only have 1 or 2 select places that I trust and go back to. Shake Shack has a nice Mushroom Burger, but honestly dont think they care to cook it seperately away from other fried or Grilled meats… Bareburger has some great ingredients but not as good as my go to. Nonetheless, was great to be able to digest their yummy burger and fries without the usual upset stomach you get from other places. Could the theatre peope stop visiting this place and ripping them up on online? It’s not a five star resteraunt; it’s a place to catch a good burger whether vegan or bison. And they do a damn good job of it!

After two beers on a rooftop nearby, I texted a friend who worked in the area. Would she be up for meeting up for a bite? Yes, she said, but it couldn’t be too long. Hence why we skipped any of the perfectly serviceable and occasionally quite good restaurants in the Theater District of this burger chain. It does seem appropriate that New York’s most upscale chain burger option(leaving out Five Napkin burger and it’s hybrid sushi-burger approach) is now a pre-theater option. At Bareburger, there are gluten-free buns, three kinds of pickles and queso fresco. There are hundreds of options for the burger. Stick to the pre-made combinations in order to prevent creating something as clashy as mixing earth tones and pastels in your mouth. There are plenty of options. Despite the full table service and higher end ingredients, I ultimately think Bareburger is a notch below Smashburger on the burger chain front. Ultimately there’s a bit less flavor to the beef and most times I come here the fries aren’t as crisp as they are at Smashburger. And it’s about 20% more expensive(not counting the fact that you have to tip here). It’s usually not worth it for a burger craving. Points, however, for the chain for providing a free burger at the end of the MS150 bike ride around Manhattan every year. That’s a time I’ll have the burger without any complaint.

The service and the food quality leave nothing to be desired. I was just a little perplexed though when I saw the burger. Look, I’m for the Midwest. Where’s the rest of the cow? We would call that a slider perhaps, but not a burger.

I was excited to come here after looking at other Unilocal reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Everything here from service to food to drinks was amazing! I got the bison burger(County Fair), dill pickles, sweet fries, and onion rings. Saying they were amazing is an understatement. I’ll be back!

First thing I got at bareburger was a beer. The bartender was good. He poured the beer. The beer tasted good and cold. I have no complaints about the beer. The second thing I tried there was a turkey burger. I initially tried to order the duck burger called the fire quacker, but they were out of duck burgers. So instead I had to get the turkey burger. The turkey burger was tasty, but quite small. It looks like a larger than normal slider. I also ordered the onion rings and sweet potato fries. Onion rings were delicious. The sleep potato fries were a bit burnt and soggy. They were thick cut and soggy. It was not that good. The dipping sauces were mediocre.

Interesting place. I came here for lunch with a co-worker. I started with a salad. They gave me a nice portion of greens, but a dinky serving of dressing. I asked for more dressing because there wasn’t nearly enough for the large salad. They ended up charging me extra for the dressing! What. the. heck. Anyways…on to the burger. I ordered the County Fair burger which was bison, aged cheddar, dill pickles, red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, brioche bun. It was very good. It definitely tasted lean and on the healthier side. My co-worker and I split the basket of fries and onion rings. We both agreed the rings were much better! We ordered a side of «special sauce» which tasted like a BBQ mayo, it was just alright. My gripe with this place is that they charged us for the extra sauce, but what really bothered me was that I was charged for that extra salad dressing I spoke about before. I mean they truly give you maybe 1 tbsp worth and it comes WITH the salad so I just don’t see any justification for charging me. The atmosphere was pretty cool. A combination of woodsy and hippie. I do like how this place is that it’s all-natural/organic/gmo free, but 100% tasty. I would come back here again.

Most likely the best burger that I have ever had. Arrived in a larger party. Note that they do not take reservations unless it is for the day of, and if there are 7 or more in your party. In addition, they will not seat you unless your entire party has arrived. When we asked management about this rule, we mentioned that we were interested in ordering ASAP, while waiting for the rest of the party to fill in, and they obliged in seating us. Pickle appetizer and half sweet potato fries and onion rings were brought out promptly. They do also have a small assortment of on tap craft beers as well. Wait staff use house iPhones to place orders, so orders came out very quickly. Appetizers were delicious, by the way. I ended up ordering an elk burger with the rice, gluten free bun. The bun tasted most authentic to regular, full on gluten, and the elk was cooked medium. Juicy, and tons of flavor. Really enjoyed all aspects of our dining experience. We had great wait staff to help accommodate our table as well.

After a show we were hungry and it was our burger day, really wanted a juicy nice burger and let me tell you this place was great! Simple clean menu, healthy, and just what we were looking for. Great location, casual, kind of bohemian, I really loved it. Craft beers, perfect to go with your burger, and they have bison burgers, I was in heaven! They have a great selection of burgers or you can build your own. We placed our order, I was surprised on the timeliness and on top of that was cooked to perfection. Everything tasted so fresh and juicy I could not believe a burger could be so delicious! The fries were really yummi too! This place has a really nice vibe, you can feel the energy of the city/people. It is spacious and cozy at the same time, great energy, great service, fresh food, nice drinks and great memories! Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed bareburger! They had a couple of vegan options(clearly marked) which is so rare in a burger place. I absolutely loved my vegan burger. I tried the sweet potato wild rice burger with the sprouted wheat bun– very hearty and I think the bun is so important to the burger! They had lots of veggie toppings to choose from. Really good service and reasonable price. Waitress was very attentive. Good vibe to the place too. I will be back to try the other veggie burger patties– farmer’s quinoa and black bean! They also have salads, fries. Will be back for a good veggie burger fix!

My boyfriend and I had been looking forward to Bareburger for a while, so we decided to stop in and drag his roommate along for an easy dinner. The interior is different than I expected. I thought it would wind up looking like a Shake Shack restaurant, but instead it kind of looked like a home for hipsters. Lights hung out of wine bottles. There were bear heads on the walls(ceramic of course). It was actually pretty cozy. And BIG. Aside from the very large entrance seating area, there were also seats upstairs. Impressive. The waitress was very friendly and chipper, easily putting our group in a good mood. We wound up ordering the fries and onion rings to share. The boys each got the country bacon burger, whereas I decided to be a bit more original. I got a duck burger on a sprout bun with manchego cheese, duck bacon, alfalfa sprouts, mushrooms, and spinach. The roommate ordered a beer and when it arrived there was something white was floating in it. After fishing it out we determined it was towel lint. Our entire meal took about 20 minutes to arrive to us, not bad, but not good either. The burgers were smaller than I thought they’d be, but we had plenty of onion rings and fries to make up for their size. They gave us a quartet of sauces to use with our rings and fries and my favorite was easily the chipotle mayo. I actually wound up putting some on my burger since it needed a bit of a flavor kick. The onion rings were delicious, but the fries were in desperate need of more seasoning. As for the burgers, I enjoyed mine, but it didn’t taste like anything special. It was pretty one-noted, but that may have been due to the items I had ordered for it. I tried my boyfriend’s burger and I was not impressed at all. He had ordered it medium and it came out well-done and EXTREMELY dry. It was pretty dull and he wound up only eating half of it. We discussed it and we decided that we would’ve enjoyed something from 5 Napkin Burger more. Someone(I shan’t divulge who) even mentioned that a Big Mac would’ve been preferable. All in all, I don’t really think Bare Burger is anything special. The menu is filled with creativity and originality, but in practice the items are bland and forgettable. My burger was about $ 17 and I left unsatisfied. What a shame.

Quality! We came here with my family, each looking for a different type of thing to eat and found it, easily. A long range of burgers to eat and some delicious sides as well. It’s a large restaurant but we were seated nicely near the window. It wasn’t too loud or quiet, a nice buzz in the air and our server took fantastic care of us. Love when a spot this big knows exactly how many people it needs to provide great customer care, they nailed it! I got a El Matador, which was spicy and delicious, and would recommend if you like spicy and delicious burgers. The sides were a little disappointing, we got the pickles and slaw, which I usually love pickles, but they were only ok(and at $ 11, insanely overpriced!) But overall, a quality meal for everyone at the table. Good selection of different types of meats and burgers, great service, I will be back!

Been here a couple times to eat and for takeout. Friendly staff, good but pricey burgers(I don’t especially care for organic), and delicious KETCHUP. Yup. Ketchup. I always get their bison burger because I love the taste and I’m too scared to try anything else. Their menu changed from maybe a year ago? But the new menu looks just as good and tasty. I recommend the Southern Caviar made with bison, bacon, onions, horseradish on a brioche. Their fries and onion rings are pretty solid. Or solid grease. Either way, you’re already devouring a 700 calorie burger so just splurge and go all the way to make this meal complete. I wouldn’t recommend their sides of pickles for ~$ 3 though. The portion size was small and it wasn’t impressive. Okay yeah so back to the ketchup. It definitely has to do with their organic tomatoes, cause their ketchup tastes out of this world FRESH compared to regular overly processed Heinz. And they know it too. Every time I ask for more ketchup, instead of giving me a handful like normal people. they only give me 2. Goddamnit!

Bareburger was the single best burger I had in NYC. This place is a true gem and thank you Unilocal for helping me find it! I was super tired from a long day at The Met, so I decided delivery to my hotel room was the way to go. Boy was I impressed! Ordering from Seamless(highly recommend this app) was easy peasy. I decided on building my own«barest» burger. You have several choices of meat. Everything from beef to duck to boar. Of course the specialty meats cost a little extra. I was boring and got a beef burger. I added cheese for $ 1.40 more and got lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, and mayo added for no charge. Sounds delicious right? Well, it was. The burger was a perfect medium temperature and so juicy. Surprisingly it wasn’t greasy at all. I also love the fact that their meat is free range, antibiotic and hormone free. Their fries are great as well. Crispy and thick cut. Maybe add a tad more salt. I was amazed at how fast delivery was. It was projected to be a 40 – 50 minute wait, but I got mine in a lightning fast 20 minutes! My food was still hot and the fries and bun weren’t soggy. If you’re a tourist reading this and are looking for a legit burger joint, skip over the crazy lines at Shake Shack and head here.

I love this place! Fully organic is my jam. I hadn’t planned on going here, but needed a quick bite before a play and this is where Unilocal led me. Thanks Unilocal! I had the bison burger on a hemp sprouted bun. It was so good and not greasy at all! Service was great and they serve filtered water as well! They have a full bar and lots of options on their menu. Different meats, breads, toppings and sides. It took me a while to decide, but I’m glad I chose what I did, it was yummy! I was in and out and made it to my show on time. Can’t wait to go back.
