I feel like my weekends were made for late night Unilocal review catch ups.* That being said, I really enjoyed this particular Unilocal event. It was in the neighborhood and I’d been meaning to go back to The Stanton Social for a while, and this event allowed me to go back for the first time in years.(Plus, after this event, I ended up going back to properly brunch with a friend.) Anyway, the event. The jazz band was fun — it’s always fun listening to live music whilst you eat… as long as it’s good live music. The sampling menu was quite delicious from what I remember. And I definitely liked the mimosa better than that blood orange cocktail.(Although that cocktail was quite tasty as well.) Highlights: — that burger. Still drooling at the memory of that gorgeous, juicy, absolutely delicious kobe beef burger. — pierogies. I’m always up for a good pierogi — and if you add goat cheese and caramelized onions in the mix, I’ll be on it like white on rice. — bruschetta. I love bruschetta, so that breakfast bruschetta was always going to be a highlight. — quesadillas. I love pastrami and reuben sandwiches… so yeah. YUM. Not quite as high: — oreo pancakes. For someone with a ridiculous sweet tooth, I really disliked the sweet portions of the morning. These were just too sweet to start my morning and I was not a fan. — doughnuts. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the doughnut plant & dough… but these just did not impress me. Overall, it was a fun event, and I met a bunch of fun and interesting people. Plus, it convinced me to come back the week after for a proper brunch with my friend… so the event was a total success in my book. – *I really should be catching up on work or sleeping or blogging or binge watching something… but I’d rather try and cut my «to review» bookmarks to under 100 instead.

Normally i don’t get up this early for brunch but for a Unilocal event i’m all there. The stanton social is situated in the LES in a decent sized space. Bar in the front and large seating area in the main. Also a balcony level for private parties. Great for groups and in this case for the Unilocal elite. Saturdays they have live jazz playing which the band was cranking out in the front by the bar. In the main restaurant area and balcony they are a bit hard to hear though. My favorite brunch cocktail that they provided that day was the salerno a wonderful ruby grapefruit and salerno cocktail. The mimosa to me was a bit too sour for my taste, almost like orangina. We were provided with a wonderful sampling of their brunch menu items. Standouts to me were the oreo pancakes. More of a dessert item but it was fluffy flavorful and had that distinct oreo taste and crunchy bits. I also liked the pastrami quesadillas. Flavorful pastrami with a wonderful melted cheese. Topping it off was some donut holes that matched well with the chocolate dipping sauce. A great way to end the brunch. Staff were wonderful and service was great. Thanks ruggy and the wonderful stanton social staff for setting up a great event.

What a great Saturday brunch event. I always wanted to come and visit Stanton and finally got a chance to do it. First off Ruggy it was the best idea to break the event into 3 different sessions, that way it is easy to enjoy the place/food more and mingle/interact with new Unilocalers. I was in the first session and we were about 10 of us and occupied the back elevated section of Stanton for our brunch. We had a pre fixe menu of food which all of tried. For drinks they had the mimosas and an orange cocktail. Servers did a great job and made sure nobody’s glasses were empty and drinks kept on coming back. I tried few things from the menu and my favorite were the oreo pancakes and perogies. Best thing about the perogies were the caramelized onions which completely transformed it. There were enough portions for each of us to taste the food few times. It was great to see new Unilocalers and also the usual faces(you know who you are :) Kudos to Ruggy and Stanton for this wonderful saturday brunch. I will definitely be back here very soon!

Rolled out of bed and into the first wave of this snazzy, jazzy and fasted paced YEE brunch at Stanton Social. I’ve been here for dinner before(french onion soup dumplings! !) but never for brunch and was eager to try some of their offerings. An intimate second floor space was reserved for us, a group of 20 or so. We started with a choice of blood orange cocktail(solerno, grapefruit purée, soda) or mimosa. The servers were awesome and made sure we always had a drink in our hands. Soon after, the food started coming up. Didn’t expect so many dishes to be showcased but the menu consisted of a whooping six delicious items; 1) Oreo cookie pancakes. These were so rich and sweet and layered with cream. Did not even need syrup. 2) Potato and goat cheese pierogies. My fave of the bunch. So savory! The caramelized onions on top were so good. 3) Breakfast bruschetta. The eggs were a perfect soft scramble. 4) Pastrami quesadilla. These were okay. 5) Kobe beef sliders. These were incredible! So saucy and the beef was extremely tender and juicy. Lastly, 6) Warm doughnuts with fudge sauce. These were some hot, light and fluffy balls! The bittersweet fudge sauce was perfect for dipping. Overall, everything was delicious and super filling. Before we knew it, our time was up and we had to leave to make room for the next wave — the 50 minutes went by so quickly! Thanks Unilocal NYC and Stanton Social for having us! Great way to start my lazy 4 day weekend. Oh yeah, happy 10 year anniversary!
