I opt for Eli’s Bread when I need a catering service. It’s been easy to get in touch(and stay in touch) with a representative regarding my order. It is a bit on the expensive end, but you also pay for the Customer Service that you get when working with Eli’s. I’ve also ordered Thanksgiving dinner from Eli’s, and it’s been great. They offer a variety of stuffing, gravy, roasts, corn bread, and vegetables. They deliver, as long as you are within a certain mile radius from the Upper East Side.

Saying that Eli’s is overpriced is like saying Tiffany is overpriced. You know this going into the store. If you choose to darken their doorway, then don’t be surprised when you check out, your bill is 20% higher than if you shopped somewhere else. Eli does have the best bread. It is very fresh and good. This store has a fairly decent variety of coffees, food and beverages. It is not as big as the Eli’s on Third Avenue. I have been here multiple times and have been reasonably happy with my purchases.

4 stars for quality and selection. 2 stars for being overpriced although certain items are worth it. Fun shopping atmosphere too. The downside is that this place, despite its top quality, is still overpriced. Certain items are worth it but you can find many of the same items at other local stores for half the price. My fav times: Eli’s house blend coffee. Amazing! Homemade soups. Gluten free health bread. Home grown Arugula. P antries are incredible too.

They just opened, place seems messy staff is indifferent and it’s expensive. If you’re gonna do it — do it right. I don’t see a reason to come back.

This place is painfully over-priced and the employees are rude. Avoid.

Never tried their bread but I hope its better than their delivery drivers. Me, a few pedestrians incl a woman with stroller almost got run over by a speeding Eli’s bread van with an overly aggressive driver. He was making a right turn from west 48 st onto 7 ave around 10:10am on 1÷17÷12. Must be late for deliveries or jus a complete a s s h o l e. Owner of Eli’s pay attention before this guy kills somebody and you get sued. Last few numbers of license plate are 784-JV

Probably the rudest customer service people I have ever encountered on the phone. There are plenty of other places to shop in NYC.

This is my favorite grocery place on the UES. It’s out of the main road so it’s kind of hard to spot but once you do you will go back again and again. It’s a little pricey but they have the best fruits and meats and of course, breads!
