everything eggs. nice place for those who prefer to make a ceremony out of breakfast. im usually not that kind of person but being that i was in the area and it was still before noon i thought why not. i had a delicious quinoa bowl with two perfectly poached eggs on top. i cant recall what else my bowl had but maybe mirin? so it was a unique combination of flavors and textures that blended perfectly. service was perhaps a bit slow and confused but maybe i caught them on a shaky day. ive only been here once. four solid stars.

If you’re egg-obsessed like me, Egg Shop is a must. Everything about this place is adorable and the menu items will make it hard to make a decision! The Avocado Toast: Thick cut whole wheat bread with a generous serving of perfectly ripened, smashed avocado, juicy yellow tomatoes and a poached egg

The first thing I ordered was the avocado/egg toast with the BACONSALT rimmed Bloody Mary. I must say I felt really good about the meal because it wasn’t your usual heavy, dense fat filled breakfast. The eggs were poached nicely and the yolk was oozing onto the avocado mash. The classic Bloody Mary had a peppery kick so if you’re not into anything hot/spicy, I’d stick to the classic. The wait is quite long especially on a Saturday afternoon so I suggest go earlier with a small crowd if possible since seating is very limited.

Really pumped about this spot when I heard about it. Eggs, cheese, biscuits, fried chicken… what’s not to love? Headed as soon as it opened for the day on a Saturday and got a table with no one else in sight. Service here is great — they give you a nice pitcher of water with a big lemon in it as you sit down. After deliberation, settled on the Custom Egg and Cheese on a biscuit($ 8), a side of Fried Chicken($ 7), and a Matcha Latte($ 5). The latte came out first, thick as it should be and a solid starter. Could be larger, yet I didn’t want to spoil the meal. Fried chicken came out and was pretty disappointed that it was only a single breast. I thought for $ 7 there would be a couple of pieces at least. The bird was greasy overall even by fried chicken standards, though the meat was juicy when I got to the thick of it. The biscuit sandwich was next — buttery flaky heaven of a biscuit sandwiching gooey runny eggs. It held together after a couple of bites, then I started using a fork and knife. Reasonable altogether; I probably would get a different combo if I come back. This place is more 3.5 stars: attentive service, inviting atmosphere. Just the food is a tad overpriced. Would make the trek back for dinner.

I love eggs and have been wanting to come here for awhile but the long wait has always put me off. My 2 friends and I put our names down at 11am today(Sunday) and were quoted a 45 minute wait, which turned out to be pretty accurate. I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be during the afternoon. I had the smoke show cocktail(mezcal, smoked salt, ginger, lime) which was tasty and refreshing and went well with the fatty bacon in my sandwich. Speaking of the sandwich, I had the B.E.C. which was enough to fill me up, but not as hearty as I expected(my friends and I felt hungry just a few hours after). The combination of tomato jam, runny egg yolk, bacon, and cheddar really hit the spot though. Service was good and the restaurant itself is very cozy and well located in Nolita. One thing about Egg Shop that threw me off were the prices; at first the menu doesn’t seem expensive for brunch standards, but $ 10-$ 15 for an egg sandwich is hefty, especially since the dishes did not come with typical brunch sides like salad or hash or even coffee/tea. Despite the wait, I would come back here again to try their dinner menu and the fried chicken, which smelled amazing from the next table.

Egg shop, you had my egg dreams and aspirations raised … and then crushed. I read about the long wait, I read about the delicious egg porn that awaited, and of the tender and crispy fried chicken … and maybe where I failed was expecting too much. We arrived for brunch on New Year’s day(Friday) and luckily, immediately scored two seats at the bar. I ordered a cappuccino, the El Camino, and my fiancé, in his usual egg-hating self state, ordered two sides of the fried chicken with some hash browns. Unfortunately, nothing lived up to the hype(but out of no where, the cappuccino was amazingly delicious)! The El Camino bowl comes with a poached egg, pulled pork, avocado and tortilla strips. I almost feel guilty about complaining about too much meat, but YES, you can have too much! The El Camino bowl needs another item(quinoa, spinach … something) to offset the strong flavor of the pulled pork, as after the 5th bite or so, I was getting pretty sick of feeling like I was just eating pulled pork as an entrée. On the other hand, my fiancé claims he’s the master of fried chicken, so of course, any time I see a place that has«amazing» fried chicken, I have to take him(how else can a girl earn some brownie points??). According to his review, the fried chicken was flavorful, but unfortunately, the fault was in the cook. The chicken was over cooked, so that the outside was burnt. As he says, how can you have amazing fried chicken if you can’t cook fried chicken correctly(don’t ask me, i’m not the one from the South — he is)!

I went here on a Monday morning ANDSAWGIGIHADID. She sat a few seats down from me at the bar with some gentleman(Not Zayn, UGH). The fact that she comes here is reason enough for me to return, and for you to check this place out. While seeing a supermodel IRL is thrilling, so too is munching on a piece of Egg Shop’s fried chicken. Yeah yeah, I know this place is popular for the eggs. But the person next to me(not Gigi) was having the fried chicken and it looked too good to pass up. So glad I went for it! It was hot(like sizzle and burn the roof of your mouth hot), crispy, and lightly glazed with honey. Regardless of what you decide to order here, please add the fried chicken as a side. You won’t regret it. I live super close by(does that mean Gigi and I are neighbors?!) and recently decided to order pickup on a Sunday morning. To my surprise, it was ready in 10 minutes and, despite the crowds in the restaurant, I was able to pop in, pay, and depart within 5 minutes. Hoorah for efficient service! I decided to order something egg-centric this time around(the B.E.C) and it was bangin’. The bun was buttery, the egg was runny but not soggy, the bacon was crispy, there was a perfect amount of cheese, and the jalapeño jam added just the right amount of SPICE to each bite. Definitely recommend that if you are into breakfast sammys. Five stars, because not only is Egg Shop’s food fantastic, but fantastic people dine at this establishment(I’m talking about me, not Gigi. She is beyond fantastic.)

For a Monday afternoon on a cold rainy day, I came in thinking there would be no wait. Well I was wrong and it was estimated a 45 minute wait for a party of 3. In addition, if your whole party is not there(after waiting 50 minutes), your name gets removed and is put on the bottom of the list. That is just ridiculous– not to mention the hostess kept saying it will only be another«5 – 10 minutes.» Another hour and a half later… we finally get our table. At this point we are all HANGRY and hoping the food would be worth the wait… well it really isn’t. To quote my friend«for a place called the egg shop, my dish doesn’t have much eggs in it» We all ordered the el camino and it had 1 small poached egg, a huge heap of avocado and some dry pork. I give it 2 stars because the matcha almond latte was delicious and the food is cheap. yes this place is «instagram» worthy… but the food is not as good as it looks.

Eggs. Honestly, one of my most favorite things to eat. Let me clarify though, I don’t like yolks(shhhh I don’t want to hear it, and no, it has nothing to do with cholesterol), so, egg whites. I love egg whites. Regardless, you can pretty much get just the whites anywhere, so, a place that pays total homage to the egg definitely pulled me in. I went to Egg Shop in NoLIta for lunch. The restaurant itself is small and quaint, but, has one of my most favorite things, an open kitchen, which, is also small and quaint. What isn’t small is the flavor of the food. Yes, it’s called EGG Shop, and leave it to me to order things that are not focused on eggs. Either way, I was totally pleased with my decisions and loved it all. To start, I had their Hashbrowns. These were almost more of a hybrid of a hashbrown meets a deep fried mashed potato cake. Basically, it was golden brown potato deliciousness, with just the perfect amount of sea salt sprinkled on top. It 100% can be eaten on its own, or, you can pair it with their housemade ketchup for a winning combination. For my meal I ordered the Fish Out Of Water(smoked salmon, picked egg, cucumber, fresh dill, caperberry mustard, rye). This sandwich was amazing. And, see? There’s still some egg in there. This generously portioned smoked salmon sandwich was so well thought out and packed with flavor. The salmon is fresh and delicious, and paired with a great pickled egg. The cucumber adds a nice crunch, and the dill a fresh herby touch, but the caperberry mustard is kind of everything. The saltiness, tang, and subtle spicy zing from the mustard really compliment the other ingredients and add a really wonderful texture.

Totally yummy egg sammies! Went with a friend on a Sunday 9 am, no wait for a table(by the time we left at 10 am there was quite a line). Ordered the B.E.C. sandwich($ 10) and a DIY sandwich with a soft scrambled egg, cheddar, sausage(really awesome house made maple sausage patty), carmalized onion aioli on a biscuit($ 11), and an order of hashbrowns($ 4)… Both sandwiches were really excellent and the hashbrowns crisp and fried to perfection. Of the two sandwiches I really enjoyed the DIY creation — I love breakfast sausage and theirs was savory, porky, perfection. and they make a kickass biscuit! If you love egg sandwiches, they do them right. Definately worth checking out.

Came here at 11:30am on a Thursday, happy to discover no wait for a party of 1(there was even an empty table for 2). It’s a small restaurant with very limited seating and I hear the wait may be monstrous. — EGGSHOP B.E.C.: broke yolk, white cheddar, black forest bacon, tomato jam, pickled jalapeño on panini roll. I liked the way the egg was cooked and I enjoyed the quality and freshness of the ingredients. However, I wasn’t a big fan of the tomato jam. Also, they may mention the dish is spicy due to the jalepeno, but there wasn’t even a hint of heat. Overall, I felt like something was lacking. I would return just to try the other things on the menu. I was eyeing the fried chicken… but until next time!

Luckily for me I had a week of staycation in NYC so I decided to stop by this place on a Wednesday at 10:30am. I was seated right away, there were a few tables open, but more crowded than I would have expected. I ordered the Avo and Egg which is an egg with avocado smash, tomato, salt on a multigrain toast. The waitress asked if I wanted one egg or two. I was happy there was an option to get two but wanted to watch my cholesterol intake so I opted for one egg. While this was a tasty dish I was very disappointed that the tomato was ice cold and the avocado smash was cold as well. These of course made the egg cold fairly quickly. I ordered a black tea which was loose leaf tea. As a tea drinker, I must admit that when judging the quality of a brunch place I always take into consideration their quality of tea. I don’t want to pay even a dollar for Lipton. This loose leaf black tea was only $ 2.75, possibly the least expensive I have had and it tasted great. I let it steep for a while and it did not get bitter at all.

Eggs. Eggs by themselves, in bowls, between bread. What’s not to love? I’ll tell you one thing not to love: the place is so popular for brunch that an hour wait on a weekend is not unusual. Good choice if you’re in an early or late brunch situation, well away from peak boozy brunch hours. Actually, I had a great time at dinner here recently too — never thought of Egg Shop as a choice for nighttime, but I highly enjoyed my Egg Shop Bap night cruiser(that’s what they call their bowls), which was chock full of fresh veggies and came with a choice of fried chicken or beef on top. The waitress strongly suggested the fried chicken and I did not regret it! Whether it’s brunch, dinner, or just a snack with cocktails, the Egg Shop is a great Nolita-area option in a cute and trendy space!

This is what you get for $ 15. Seriously? One egg on a stale brioche with a tablespoon of avocado and two slices of bacon? Pretentious bullshit, avoid at all costs. This place is what is wrong with the world.

Been wanting to try this place for a while because I love eggs benedict! However, when I looked at the menu I realized that the eggs benedict didn’t sound or look too appealing(from what I saw on Unilocal.) I ended up ordering the beast, which is a sandwich with pulled pork. It comes with cilantro, which I haaaate, so I definitely should’ve told them to take that off but it wasn’t too hard picking it out. The sandwich was VERY juicy and messy to eat. Overall, it was pretty tasty but I’ve definitely had better. My friends said their dishes were alright as well. For sides we ordered the biscuits, hashbrowns and fried chicken. I didn’t try the biscuits but it looked pretty dry. The hashbrowns were okay, nothing spectacular. But the fried chicken!!! If anything I would go back just for that fried chicken. That was definitely the best thing we ate, it was juicy and delicious! I think they cook it with honey so it has a nice amount of sweetness to it! Definitely recommend getting the fried chicken.

Egg Shop is a cute little restaurant, right off the J-Bowery stop in Nolita. I went on an early Sunday afternoon and had to wait about 30 mins. Although there will always be a wait during those heavy brunch hours, the hostess was quick and attentive to all those waiting. The bartender made sure we had water as soon as we sat down at the bar. Great, quick, friendly customer service! I ordered the Matcha Almond Latte. It was yummy, but a little too intense with the matcha flavor. I ordered the B.E.C., but substituted a biscuit for the roll. It was SO delicious. The tomato jam added that subtle sweetness to the savory bacon, egg and cheese. I definitely recommend substituting the biscuit if you want a really hearty brunch. It’s hard to rate a place like this with 5 stars because there are SO many places like this. However, the service really makes it an even better experience.

Can’t lie, I went to this restaurant for the aesthetics and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I came to New York for a weekend trip, and since I’m a breakfast person, this place made my list. Since I’m not from NY, I’ll admit this review may be a little biased towards the Florida cities I’m used to. Either way, it still gets my four stars. The restaurant is tiny, and they pack as many table set-ups possible. I think that the largest group could only be about 4 people. I love eggs in any meal, so I knew that I would have a hard time choosing what to order. I really appreciated their variety of options, from classic breakfast combos, to vegetarian options, to more savory brunch options. We ended up ordering the Spandex(vegetarian) and El Camino(with pulled pork). Flavors were on the light side, and I could tell that they didn’t focus on hearty or layered flavors, since the main taste of the Spandex came from the sauce made from soy sauce and El Camino focused on the pulled pork. Portions were borderline«just enough» and presentation lived up to my expectations. Watching other people being served made me want to get more because the sandwiches looks amazing as well. Service was fairly quick, attentive and were very willing to answer any questions we had about the menu. It may not be a top recommendation for travelers or anyone who likes their typical greasy, carb-y American breakfast. But if I lived in the area, I could see myself choosing it as my go-to breakfast meet up.

I’ll spare you a long raving review and just say this place has it all! Amazing service! I met, and talked with the owner — who was so personable and friendly — simply because I had to tell her how great the food was and how friendly all of her employees were. The food was probably the best breakfast & brunch in the city. Everything our group tried was DELICIOUS! The biscuit breakfast sandwich was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve eaten. Make sure you get here if you’re in the area!

What a great spot for breakfast or brunch. I loved the crowd here only wish the tables had more space between them. It is a bit cramp. I ordered the egg shop BEC which was delicious the bacon was so well made and crispy. The sandwich has a bit of a gooey texture that was so satisfying when you bite into it. My husband is an eggetarian so he ordered the avo and egg and loved it. We also got the French toast which was good it wasn’t great I would suggest sticking to their egg sandwiches :)
