What a terrible experience. I stopped in around 3:30 after not eating all day. The place was empty besides one other man at the bar. I was clearly there during their shift change and the staff could not have been more unprofessional. They spent the majority of the time either counting their money or gossiping about fellow employees. Oh, and how they’re all aspiring actors/models whatever. I’m glad you all went to art school because you clearly don’t give a shit about customer service. I ordered my burger medium well, but when I cut into it blood leaked all over the plate, soaking the bun, fries, and pickle. Didn’t matter that the fries were soaked in blood as they were so crispy they might as well serve potato chips. I didn’t bother saying anything as the employees were too busy shit talking about a hostess who apparently wore a «scuba suit» to work. Plus, I was starving and would’ve eaten anything. I had clearly finished my drink but was never offered another, even though there were 3 employees within 5 feet of me. Finally asked for another one. The guy next to me had only ordered a beer and was charged $ 13 for it. The only response was«well it is a double ipa.» Shouldn’t you warn people beforehand that they’re ordering a $ 13 beer? A pint of beer at that? He attempted to pay with his card and was then told that it’s a $ 15 minimum. His total for ONE beer was $ 13.43. He was clearly confused by the entire transaction. It was more like a shake down. I asked for my bill, and my original bartender was sitting down in the corner. The new bartender didn’t bother to attempt to get my bill, so I sat and waited looking like an idiot. All I wanted to do was pay and gtfo of there. My bill came to $ 41 for two well vodkas and a nasty burger. Feel like I was totally ripped off and will never be back. I will add that I ordered my second drink after 4pm, which is their happy hour special, but that wasn’t honored. There’s so many other affordable, tasty options nearby. Wouldn’t want to inconvenience this bunch with my presence again.

Food was good. Cream of kale. Kale salad. Oysters. French fries a little crispy. Russian and sour cherry martinis were great. Would have given 5 stars if not for 3% service charge. They’ll be shamed into getting rid of it and then I will return.

In all honesty, the Time Out NYC burger review put this burger joint on my horizon, so had to check out the hype. The aged beef burger IS awesome, juicy, tasty, and worth trekking uptown for. The bun its placed on however does not do this burger justice, request to substitute a pretzel roll for a suitable dining experience dance partner for the star of the show. We sampled several appetizers, and although the Calamari was very good, the brussel sprouts were my favorite; Delicious, seasoned just right, with a good char taste. We felt service was very goo, the value, not so much, coming from working folks. For what we dined on it was rather pricey. If I were to return, it would be a burger only event, and be completely satisfied with it.

This is the place to go if you are an oyster fanatic. Used the groupon voucher which offered 2 dozen huge oyster and two drinks. Not a huge oyster fan but was told the ouster were amazing and the drinks, well, hands down to the bar tender. I was coming down with a cold so was extra congested and the hot toddy cleared up those sinuses. Instead of the oysters, i had the shrimp mac and cheese. I must say, its a must have and one of the best mac and cheese i’ve ever had. As an entrée, i ordered the short ribs. Again very tasty and on point. The service was amazing. Our waiter was amazing, very pleasant and accomodating. I am definitely looking to come here again.

The quest of 2016 is to find the best burger in NYC, paying homage to How I Met Your Mother, and Eats was the first stop. We tasted the dry aged steak burger and were immensely delighted. The burger was cooked to perfection and the caramelized onions really accented the flavor. That being said the burger doesn’t come with a sauce which was a little needed. My recommendation, ask for a side of mayo and ketchup to spread on. Their home made mayonnaise is superb.

I also jumped on the Groupon deal, and judging from the food on the tables around us, we weren’t the only ones. That being said, they definitely sold me on coming back! The oysters were so good, they made me dance! The martinis were excellent too(love the blue cheese olives in my filthy martini), which made the deal amazing(yay Groupon!). I was perfectly satisfied after the oysters, but it was so good we decided to order more food anyway, and the prices weren’t frightening. After muscles, and ceviche, we were completely stuffed, and had no complaints(except maybe secretly wanting more oysters). I will also mention that the staff was great, from the time I made the appointment, to the time we left. Our waiter was extremely helpful, as was the busboy when we needed a semi emergency clearing at our table. The place is relatively small, and wasn’t too crowded, but the staff was attentive, even knowing we were eating at a discount. This was certainly a delicious and chill dining experience. Next time I go I have my eye on some oyster shooters I am excited to try!

Good service, delicious martinis and blue point oysters; a combination that is hard say no to! Some of the other food we saw moving around on the arms of the waiters and waitresses looked good as well! The place was a tad bit pricey, but that’s a give in when you’re eating in the upper east side. Other than that this restaurant was a great a experience and definitely a place that I would recommend to someone in the area.

Chose this place randomly walking by and ended up liking it a lot. Walked in and got sat in no time at all. The service here was very good our server was great and so were the other workers. Ambiance was very cozy and nice. The food was well priced and I ordered a hot tea and it was served with fresh leaves(not cheap bags)! We ordered a shrimp and Mac n cheese appetizer which was delicious and burgers were also good. I would definitely go back!

Delicious oysters. Came with a groupon($ 45 for two dozen), and it was so good that my boyfriend and I ordered more. Groupon comes with two drinks and is very worth it. We started off with vodka and peach martinis. The latter is preferred, but both are very strong. The vodka martini was almost not drinkable because it was so strong. beware! We got 2 dozen Blue Point oysters, then ordered Salish Bay and Kumamoto ones(two of each), for tasting. Kumamoto was our fave. I strongly suggest giving these oysters a try — $ 2 for an oyster and it was nice to try new things. We got a table with a nice street view — I love the neighborhood! Wait staff wasn’t as attentive as I expected, but we still got good service.

A mixed picture emerges here… Stopped in with a friend recently for a quick bite to eat. My cornish hen dish was very good, and I was completely satisfied with my experience. Friend’s burger looked(and tasted) like it was fried in a skillet in the 1950s and was mediocre at best, and clearly overpriced to boot. Service was good, and the place’s ambiance and vibe are quite inviting and lively. I also ordered one draft beer with my meal(Brooklyn lager IPA). When the bill came, the $ 12 price tag for it looked like a mistake, but wasn’t. This is probably the second most outrageous price tag for a draft beer, relative to setting and expectations, that I have ever encountered(the first was many years ago in Reykjavik, Iceland). So buyer beware: Ask first, then order… One final note: The $$ price range designation on Unilocal I believe is misleading. Should be $$$.

Used the Groupon deal, which everyone else wrote about … Oysters were delicious !!(deff worth the deal) Also ordered the tuna and shrimp ceviche, pork ragu, and roasted brussels sprouts. Wish the pork would’ve had a bit more flavor. Besides that everything was great !

Saw a Groupon deal for oysters and drinks so decided to give it a shot… It’s a cute restaurant w a lounge feel to it… Loved the ambience, service and music playing was a plus to my ears… So apart from the oysters and drinks… We decided to also place an order for a couple of appetizers… I chose the Spain shrimps, which consisted of shrimp cooked in garlic, paprika and red chilli flakes… It was delicious… I don’t know why but hubby wanted to try the mac n cheese… Not a good choice … It tasted like Velveeta mac and cheese … It was too creamy and cheesy YUCK… I know I know mac and cheese should have plenty of cheese but it was way too much and felt my arteries slowly shutting down it was also salty… No thanks… Anyway, the oysters were fresh and meaty I will seriously keep purchasing the Groupon deal until they no longer sell them to me … I mean $ 40 for 2 dozen oysters and 2 alcoholic beverages in NY… when will we see a deal like that again???

If you’re a burger/oyster lover, you won’t find a better deal in the city. Eats offers an online deal of 2 martinis and 2 dozen oysters at a steal. The oysters(bluepoints) are great and the steak burger is one of the best I’ve had, anywhere. Don’t bother wasting your time with stuff like the kale/pear salad(good but not great) or the garlic shrimp(not much garlic and tasted like the oily residue from the toaster oven). Stick with the burger/oysters combo and you’ll be glad you did!

I have to say this is probably the best restaurant overall experience I’ve had since moving to New York 3 months ago. I called to make a reservation and was told that they don’t accept reservations for parties of two from 7−9pm which wasn’t a problem for me since we would be doing a late dinner. The restaurant itself is mid sized compared to others I’ve seen. They have a nice bar and nice seating arrangement(you won’t be on top of someone else). We had a groupon for 2 dozen oysters and 2 martinis. The oysters were cleaned to perfection! You could tell they were fresh and were a great size. They came with all your traditional fixings. We were also given bread which was ok. The martinis were great! They have an array for you to choose from. We also ordered the burger that won them best burger can’t remember the name but it was delicious and perfectly cooked. This came with fries which were also cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. We arrived at 9:45pm on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. We were the last ones there at the end of our meal but no one rushed us. I would definitely recommend this place for oysters and drinks try their burgers too you’ll enjoy it.

Apparently known by various names(most variants of Eats), this spot seems to be enjoying its recent press as a top burger per ToNY. Had planned a visit with a Huledet bday offer* before that was published, and service was still pretty solid for the solid but forgettable medium rare steak burger($ 15 cc minimum). *asked for ID as proof Celebrate your birthday month with a $ 10 credit! I am a visitor to New York, but EATS is what you would expect of the typical NYC brunch spot. We came here on a weekday during their brunch hours. The place wasn’t overly crowded, but there was a good amount of people dining there for a weekday. The service was exceptional, to say the least. I ordered half a dozen of one of the local oysters — the Blue point ones. They offered oysters from various locations and I had no idea if oysters from Canada or Japan would be better but the waiter suggested the more local ones so I went with that. The oysters were larger and much better than your average oyster… I still think about them from time to time. I also ordered the huevos rancheros, which were just average, nothing special. Although I’m not much of a potato person, I actually ate some of the potatoes that came on the side, which definitely says something. Three people in our group ordered the dry aged steak burger. LETMETELLYOU. I don’t know if it was because we were all so hungry from walking around the city since 6 a.m. or what, but this burger was SOGOOD. The whole table was talking about it for a good 8 minutes or so. I didn’t take to the fries as much, but certain people at our table seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed them. I was able to try the breakfast burrito that a friend ordered. It was good, but I had a good amount of sauce drip onto my outfit as I took the burrito from her to have a bite — no bueno. We also had to keep asking for ice for our water because I guess ice isn’t a staple in NYC restaurants? I’m not sure. Every time we asked, our waiter would bring us one glass of ice. Like why not more? We’re a table of eleven. I know I usually upload pictures of my food, but I was exploring the city all morning and being the typical tourist and my phone was dead by brunch time. I know, disappointing. Oh well, there’s always next time.

Loved it! I came with a friend because we purchased the $ 40 groupon: 2 dozen oysters and 2 Martinis. I love oysters and kept hearing how good they were here, so we figured we should check it out. The oysters lived up to the hype!!! They were huge and so meaty, so having 12 each was definitely filling. They had an extensive menu of Martinis which was great because I don’t always enjoy the more traditional ones. It wasn’t too crowded at 830 when we went, and we had plenty of space to catch up and hear each other. After the oysters we ordered the baked and breaded macaroni and cheese with shrimp in it. It sounded too good not to order. It was delicious and the shrimp added a rich flavor combined with the cheese. My only complaint is that it wasn’t a very large portion to split for what it cost. The dish itself was savory and I loved it, but I would have appreciated it more if it wasn’t so small.

Great place for lunch/brunch. Stopped by here for brunch when I was staying at the Surrey. At 12:15 on a Sunday, it wasn’t packed and we were seated quickly. I imagine we got here before the brunch rush. I had the salmon burger with avocado(extra $ 2) thanks to the delicious pics posted. The man had a regular burger. Both were delicious and juicy. Actually, he said the burger was in his top 100, which is saying a lot for a world traveling burger connoisseur. Will definitely come back and try more items on the menu. Only complaint is, for a day that was 90 degrees, I didn’t feel any AC in the restaurant. But the beer was ice cold.

EATS was a pleasant surprise. I tend to believe that Manhattan’s food will be rushed, will have no character, and a watered down taste to appeal to the wider assortment of people in Manhattan. Why do I think this? I don’t know. Maybe I remember the few bad experiences as opposed to the more okay ones, and stick to Brooklyn, or believe all the hype I hear about Queens. EATS stands out among the crowd. Reasonably priced for the area, and offering a variety of restaurant staples plus some inspired kale salads to boot, this is a worthwhile stop for whatever you’re doing in the city. I got the light vodka mango martini to start. It was fruity and refreshing on a perfect summer night, and a little potent. I was singing show tunes by the end if the night. The pear and kale salad is a dish on its own, and delicious. It’s sprinkled with almond slivers for a little crunch and that much more flavor. I would order it as an appetizer and share. It deserves to be shared. I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro and felt transported to Italy. It comes out piping hot, cheesy, and irresistible. It’s garnished with some basil and I can’t wait to experience it again. Service is attentive and sweet without being overbearing. It get crowded but on a Tuesday night, we didn’t wait too long. We’ll visit again soon.

I arrived at EATS to use my Groupon which was for 1 dozen«blue» oysters and two martinis. I’m glad I made my choice because all the platter were delicious. The oysters were possibly the best and freshest I’ve had in NY. I devoured them! In the east coast only fresh raw oysters from Massachusetts were better than these. I had a coffee martini which was delicious. It reminded me of coffee flavor, brown sugar & vanilla syrup. Afterward i ordered a Pumpkin Gnocchi. This had a mushroom, onion and moist pumpkin nuggets. The plate was small for a $ 14 appetizer. Next, I tackled the French Onion Soup. Beef stock, bread, onion and swizz cheese. It was tasty but they were very frugal with the amount of cheese they added. I like my French Onion like everyone else, SMOTHEREDTOTHEBRIM with melty cheese. Please EATS, add more cheese to your French Onion. The soup was only missing this key addition. The Cod with Brocolli rabe and the Lamb Burger was the entrée. The cod had a crunchy blacked skin on both sides and was on the moist on the inside. The rabe was moist and delicious. The lamb burger was moist warm and cooked just how I ordered. The pico di gaiyo topping was a yummy, zesty, new experience on a burger. Thank you server! :) Benjamin our server was excellent, funny and helpful.
