Great Dominican food here. One of the best spots in Dyckman area. Cheap, but still worth every little penny. Very Delicious

Nice restaurant with nice staff and all. Its 24⁄7 so the girls behind the counter are overworked. So be nice!

I’m a little surprised by the reviews. I was craving a traditional Dominican breakfast(tres golpes) and decided to stop at the first place I saw. The ladies behind the counter were very attentive(I speak Spanish), but can imagine that a language barrier might put a damper on service. My mangu wasn’t super fresh, but it’s kind of my fault for waiting until 11 to have breakfast. 2 plates of mangu with sides and juice came out to $ 25, not bad at all.

Went in to grab a rotisserie chicken to go. Women behind the counter spent 5 minutes talking with each other before acknowledging I was there. Then I was given an attitude for asking if I could place an order. Chicken was mediocre at best. Dry and way too salty. I live a few blocks from this place, but now when I have the itching for a chicken I head down to Malecon on 177th. Those guys cook a mean bird with quick service and they seem to actually appreciate your business.

Stopped by around 7pm on a Saturday and they ran out of most of their dishes on their menu – so ended up ordering the ½ roasted chicken($ 5 – 6), which was too dry. My first impression wasn’t great, but would maybe come back and try other things(hopefully at an earlier time so they won’t be sold out on most of their items).

The carne de res frito and tostones were amazing and so was the rice, beans and the half rotisserie chicken. The only downfall is that the cups were dirty, the fries were uncooked and they took away the plate without asking if the person was done and they weren’t…very unprofessional.

So I came to this restaurant expecting to find good authentic Spanish food but was soooooo disappointed. The service was nonexistent and the food was at best barely edible. I had the Oxtail stew with rice and beans while my dining partner had Pernil(roast pork) with rice and beans. We asked for beans with no sauce and we got sauce with no beans. When I complained it was swapped out for another order which was almost the same. I counted eleven beans total with an enormous amount of liquid! The oxtail was not edible as it was supposed to be oxtail stew but it tasted like it was cooked in spaghetti sauce and not a good spaghetti sauce. My dining partner’s Pernil was so salty that it too could not be eaten! I will never go back to this sorry excuse of a restaurant and I urge you to spare yourself the experience!

Yesterday I went here for Sunday lunch with one of my really good friends. He picked the spot out since he know good places to stuff your tummy. The only complaint is that the waiter took forever to return every single time we needed something. It was like she disappeared or took a nap before she came at our table but this restaurant is a good size, bigger than most. The breaded chicken, rotisserie chicken, sweet plantains, rice and beans was very good.

I have concluded that you can’t really get good food in the heights anymore. However, I will continue to eat everywhere until I prove myself wrong, or file for bankruptcy because the prices in this neighborhood can push someone to start selling drugs just to buy dinner. This place is basic but since my last visit eight years ago they added an outdoor seating space. I don’t know why anyone would want to sit outside under the train and surround by exhaust BUT if you want to show everyone you can afford a hookah then this is the place to be. The chicken sandwich was ok and $ 5. I feel bad for that guy that never gets a morir sonando but I wish they were out when I stopped in. It was pretty lame. The Cuban sandwich was ok, but I wasn’t a socialist at the end of it. the orange juice was tang-y. The tables need cleaning. The chairs are a mess. The waitresses don’t come around. Nobody cares how you are doing.

Place wasn’t clean and the food was awful. Chicken tasted old and dry. My first and last time.

Arrived on a beautiful sunday evening around 5pm wasn’t too busy. It took me 10 minutes to get someone to bring me to a table. 5 minutes later no menu no nothing. I finally got up to get some menus. We sat for another 10 minutes no drinks or nothing. I finally got up to tell someone to order us some drinks. We ordered our food. 35 minutes later our food arrives and it is cold. We decided we were fed up and left. The waitress said I can warm up your food we said no thanks that would probably take another 20 minutes. Two tables next to us were having the same problem.

Pretty much my favorite restaurant in my neighborhood. I mostly do delivery or takeout and it’s always good. It’s really affordable and the portions are huge. I can split the lunch special into two meals! On the occasion that I dine there, I always get a «cubetazo». A bucket of beer(5 full-size bottles) for 15 bucks. Can’t go wrong with that! They also have outdoor seating during warmer weather.

This place is alright… Local Dominican joint on Dyckman. Nothing spectacular. Food is always good though and for the price I should really be giving them 5 stars. My beef with them is that everytime I’ve ordered dinner from here, they never have morir sonando… I’m like, «but lady, it’s just milk and OJ and its on your menu». She’s like, «Whatever dude. You want morir sonando? You have to call earlier. What’s your address?». Gotta love them gully Dominican chicks.

Really good dominican food!!! Best for take out. Not the kind of place that I would want to dine-in with colleagues or have a business meeting, but it is excellent to pick up some food to eat at home. Great rotisserie chicken, and excellent rice and beans. Almost as good as my granny’s cooking. A must order if you want a taste of real dominican food.

This place has some of the best roasted chicken I’ve ever had. It is the reason I keep coming back. There is a counter where you can order to go or there are two dining rooms if you’d like to sit. No hostess, so just sit wherever. Like I said, the food is great. Some of the best Dominican food in Inwood. The only thing keeping this review from 5 stars is the service. I wouldn’t say they are unfriendly(although the language barrier sometimes makes it difficult), just that it is almost always slow. You have to ask for refills etc. We also almost always wait a long time for our check. Still worth it though.

I only ever come here after a late night out because it is open for 24 hours. I understand that The staff here deals with drunk people who have just left the club but that’s no excuse for the service to be as bad as it is … even to the sober people. Whether you’re intoxicated or not, the waitresses will treat you like crap, rush you and ignore you. it will take a while before you get someone’s attention so that they can take your order or bring you your check. The food is okay though and it’s inexpensive. I would only recommend ordering things that they have to cook on the spot like eggs and such. I have ordered a mofongo here and it’s clear that they are providing you with old food. This may be different during the day for lunch or for dinner but this is merely my late night experience.

When they HAVE the food you ask for it’s great, they’ll give you a menu you’ll order 3 different dishes until you finally Catch something they even have. Smh. You can sit and they will walk by you 10 times before they realize your here to stay.

I was hanging your with my hubby in Dyckman and we were in the mood for some good Spanish food but there are so many Spanish restaurant to choose from in this area. We decided to give this one a shot, I have to say it was a great choice. First of all the décor and the way the restaurant is set up takes you back to DR from the tables/chairs to the paintings, brick walls. The service was fast, waitress was very nice a offer to sit us in a more comfortable table. We ordered a whole roasted chicken and an avocado salad. The chicken was to perfection, not overly season and so tendered that it came right off the bones. The salad was super fresh as well as the avocados. Definitely coming back to try something else.

Roach on the ground. Ok. Bug in the water. Ok. Food was not so good. Open 24 hours a day. Good for the club crowd. So if your drunk you can’t taste that the food ain’t good. Cold chicken and bean sauce straight out the Goya can. Yes, straight out the Goya can. Not a place to take a girl on a date. Strictly for people coming out the club. Also I came in before to get some tostones. They had none. Shut the front door. A Spanish store with out tostones, it’s like a beach without water. I would recommend this to no one cuz I am about to be sick.
