Sooooo delicious The cheese stick & empanadas are out of this world. Had the polo patacon which is a chicken tostone sandwhich. The tostone was a lil dry. But over all very good !! Def a pit stop !! Especially they stay open till 6 am !!

So delicious and amazing. We will definitely be coming back! We split three items, a burrito, a sweet plantain sandwich, and a sweet corn sandwich. They were all so amazing you can’t go wrong here

Every time I go here I order the pataton with the yellow plantain. This is called the Yoyo; it is very tasty but it’s huge. If you think that you may not finish it my tip is order the yoyo is the only patacon that you can really re-heat. The green plantain one will get hard and wont taste the same. I like the chinola juice(Passion Fruit). The palito de queso are ok. I mean it’s cheese wrapped in dough. It is what it is! nothing spectacular. The place is a small and a little divey. I honestly don’t know if they have a rest room I have never used it. The staff is friendly but be prepared to talk fast and listen fast. Pros: –Patacon –Chinola Juice –Near the train station –Near Bars and Lounges Cons: –Don’t reheat your patacon at home. Only if is a yoyo. –The place is small –THERE’S NOPARKINGEVER

The food here was Great! Ordered a cachapa con pernil, which is a typical corn corn with roasted pork. Delicious. My friend ordered a Yoyo con queso Venezolano, a sweet plantain sandwich with Venezuelan cheese. Also great. Everything here seems good, will definitely return.

Honestly, I don’t understand the hype. I guess people come here after having a crazy night all drunked up and find this type of food rewarding. The palito de quedo was ok. The chicken cachapa was ok. Nothing out of this world. I’ve had better elsewhere.

Food was delicious, super affordable, and filling. The cheese sticks(Tequeños) could have been a little fresher but they were still pretty good. The sandwiches were made to order and came out fresh without a long wait. Staff was friendly, helpful, and bilingual for the non-spanish speakers. We ordered two patacons, one arepa, and three tequeños for $ 23. Definitely going back.

We were headed to the Cloisters and took a little detour to grab some lunch. Unilocal pointed us here and it didn’t disappoint! It’s definitely a casual place — seating is basically picnic tables, but the food is tasty and cheap. We sampled both the beef and chicken empanadas and found them to be well filled, nicely seasoned and not greasy at all. I had an arepa(chicken) which was freshly made and absolutely delicious, if a little messy to eat. The chicken here is really flavorful and they do have some bottles of sauce if you want to spice things up. I did — their hot sauce is slightly vinegary and«medium» hot. Prices are extremely reasonable — 4 empanadas, an arepa, a Venezuelan«burrito» and 2 drinks = $ 20. As a bonus, we got to explore the very cool Washington Heights neighborhood too.

Excellent food, but you must review your order if you don’t order in spanish, when I asked for a two meat selection, I got two sandwiches, but staff was apologetic and friendly. The chorizo was amazing, and I’d definitely come back when in the Bronx. The interior is simple, picnic style benches, the selection of hand held foods are impressive, the flavor is absolutely front and center.

Holy moly, this line is a disaster. That, however, is a good thing: High demand! Kudos to these people for dealing with so many drunk people at all hours of the night/morning. They actually move pretty fast but it seems like they need more staff. 3 words: palitos de queso. That is all.

Delicious option waaaay up north. I tried the Cubano Arepas and highly recommend it. It had the right combination of yummy corn/maize bread that I live with the classic porky flavors of a Cuban sandwich. Will def make this spot a regular on my visits to NYC.

The only thing wrong with this place is that they don’t have a location in New Jersey. I don’t mind driving into the city just to get a patacon, passion fruit or pineapple drink, palitos de queso and just about everything on their menu. I honestly would eat this everyday, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yes, it is that good! Everything is full of flavor and freshly made. I can’t describe how AMAZING the food really is. This is not a fancy place whatsoever, I wish the seating area was more spacious and had more tables. There’s usually a lot of people there at any given time but it clears out quick since the food is cooked fast. Huge portions, great prices and quality. This is one small business I will always support. If you’re in the area or just want to try something new, try this place NOW! Ps. Depending on what you’re eating, no fancy clothes or white attire is recommended. That sauce might drip down your arms, it can be a little messy!

I love this place my go to spot on dyckman, delicious food that’s affordable I am there, my go to meal the cheese sticks get a couple they are only a dollar then I go for the steak yoyo, which is sweet plantain mashed with steak, fried cheese, pink sauce lettuce and tomato inside, be prepared to wait a long time on a Friday or Saturday night when the clubs get out but either way well worth the wait,

The maracucha, a super sized Venezuelan hamburger, was delicious. But with some of that red salsa it was amazing. Wash it down with one of the tastiest aguas frescas I’ve had in a long time and serve it up at an hour that most honest people are asleep and you’ll make one gringo VERY happy.

Lunch with my Meetup before venturing towards The Cloisters on a Autumn Sunday was plentiful Venezuelan style. Self-serve eat-in or takeout. One uni-sex restroom facility is available on the premise. My Cachapas(sweet corn pancake) Pernil(roast pork) $ 7.35 is gargantuan portion that I became very bloated and extremely full for the entire day. My accompanied beverage Chicha(rice and cinnamon) $ 3.00 is overwhelmingly too sweet which it appears to contain milk. Service is attentive and the staff is fluent in English and Spanish. My quest for trying foods of variable ethnic cultures is always open especially in a very diverse densely populated city as New York.

Wow. I wish this place wasn’t so far from me. I also wished that when I was ordering, the cashier spoke to me in english and not spanish, but this place is so good that I take responsibility for that. It’s totally my fault! It was really busy and I shouldn’t have lost most of my spanish speaking abilities I was raised with as a child. After a few drinks, I came here with friends since one of them lived in the area and had heard great things about it. It was really packed on this particular Saturday night, so we took our food to go. We all had cachapas, mine was with shredded beef. I also had tequenos, which I liked. While my cachapa was hard to eat because it was messy(I literally had sauce dripping everywhere, even down my arm), it was flavorful and huge! I couldn’t finish mine, so next time I come, I’ll definitely make sure I haven’t eaten much.

I feel like writing a review is pointless. Like what am I supposed to add? This stuff could not taste better if baby Jesus chewed it for you. I’ve had the patacones and the arepa usually chicken. I also do the cheese sticks. I always drink the maracuya. I tried a tres leche wasn’t a fan. But I don’t go here for Dessert. Service is always helpful. My only disappointment is that they don’t have frequent flier miles…

A 10 minute walk from The Cloisters. Don’t get sucked into one of the taphouses, or overpriced spots on the way. Walk a few extra blocks here. Really great. Everyone had the sweet plantain sandwiches(yoyo). The Cuban one was amazing. The blend of sweet and savory, the meat, cheese and the mayo all coming together with the sugar of the plantains… wow… The Carne Asada one was very good as well. I wish there were a biiiiit more meat in it, but only beacuse I enjoyed it so much. The flan was also on point. Very reasonably priced($ 7 or $ 8). Wish it were closer to home, but alas… everyone should go here.

Solid food. Got three meats patacon. Had to eat with a fork so I wouldn’t burn my hands. Green plantains can be dry but the white sauce really makes up for it. I also tell myself it is healthy because of the veggies and that it is in fact very much paleo. Didn’t care for the fried cheese in the sandwich. Portion size is generous so you can make two meals out of it if you want to(I didn’t)
