When I came here yesterday around 1:15PM I needed lunch and I saw they had daily special posted outside. Apparently Thursdays the daily specials were chicken salad sandwich or tuna salad sandwich for $ 1.99. That brought me in. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. It took less than 5 minutes to toast the split croissant and assemble the sandwich. When my order taker called my number he then told me the price which was over $ 4. I reminded him that they have a sign outside that says it’s $ 1.99(I assumed tax would be charged and was not included.) He quickly did an adjustment on his terminal to come up with a bill with correct amount. The chicken salad had celery mayonnaise and not too broken up chicken. The croissant was split and then toasted.

Let me start by saying I love dunkin donuts but this place needs help. I come here often as its one of the only ones in the immediate area, but the staff is just not really good. Not only did the woman at the register give me attitude when I asked if they had the new mango smoothie but then proceeded to allow a roughly 3 year old child of one of the customers behind the counter where the little girl straight up touched two bagels! I was like wtf! I’m pretty sure she saw it happen and I was just thinking that I know my 6 year olds hands get pretty filthy so I can just imagine this little three year olds. They really need to do something about the way they are running the place… coollattas are also usually very watery as of late :(Pick it up guys and no more tiny tots behind the counter please!

Double Ds please, FTW! get your mind outta the gutter yo – not those type of double deez. nuts rights! this is your typical Dunkin Donuts establishment that serves coffee, food, DD brand merch, and has the sister co. Baskin Robbins ice cream display next to the doughnut set up. looks are deceiving bc this Dunkin Donuts space is fairly narrow, but it looks larger from the outside. there are two entrances one on 6th street. & another on 1st avenue that has wheelchair accessibility ramp. single file store, so it can be a tight squeeze in the morning or afternoon coffee rushes. my advice to you: hit this place only during off hours. the food and drink offerings are pretty standard at the DD location. variety of doughnuts from crullers to the knockoff cronut to munchkins. once the doughnuts are done, that’s it for the day. crullers go fast at this location, but the cronut knockoffs not so much. munchkin varieties are slim. there are the typical breakfast-y/hot sandwich offerings. always check the DD app for deals on food and coffee as you can earn Dunkin Donuts reward points and earn free cups of coffee. of course, you need to load cash into the app. the app works way faster than cash/debit/credit card in terms of paying. coffee is brewed fresh. they do have a heavy on sugar, so be aware. and of course they have all the flavored syrups. they offer coolatas, hot chocolate, and all those dessert-y drinks. they do offer the Dunkin Donut iced teas. however the green tea option is often out, but the black iced tea if typically available. i never really see anyone partake of the Baskin Robbins. yeah i know it’s winter(time of this review), but even in the summer… people don’t come here for ice cream. i think BR ice cream ain’t so great to begin with… wish they’d get rid of the ice cream and open up more space for coffee and seats. they have a freezer with those pre-made Baskin Robbins ice cream cakes for birthday/office/etc. celebrations. however i think BR ice cream cakes are on par with most supermarket offerings. speaking of space… there are two tiny two person tables for sit-n-drink. but meh, it’s not that kind of coffee place. the staff is quick n attentive, but this place can get slow bc of the way the place is laid out. again, i’d avoid during morning and afternoon rushes. brightly lit location and relatively clean. dropz mic, so i can cruller n coffee with ease. i out!

(Regarding the joint Baskin Robbins) Nothing good at this spot, sadly. Two major issues. First, it was pretty much impossible to communicate with the employee behind the counter. He didn’t seem familiar with the vocabulary for the flavors, sizes, or toppings, so we unfortunately had to resort to pointing at the flavors and toppings we wanted. Truth be told we stopped after the first two tries because it was clear we weren’t going to get what we wanted. Example conversation with staff: «How many scoops?» «Just one please!» Puts in scoop. «More?» “No thank you.“ Puts in one more scoop. «More?» “No… no thank you.“ Adds one more scoop. On top, the ice cream tasted really funky. There was a strange fruity flavor in the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, like you get in Halloween candy that you didn’t get around to eating until the following August. Not good. With so many Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins around, you should probably just avoid this one. Or just go to Big Gay Ice Cream, Mikey Likes It, or Mister Softee — all much better options in the neighborhood.

Scoopfest 2014 review: Pralines & Cream is one of their stronger flavors, and this place boasted some of their stronger service, asking me to come back semi-sincerely.

I’m not a big coffee buff, I’m more the person that buys a coffee every now and then as a treat for myself. So I decided to go in to Dunkin Donuts and get a medium iced coffee because I was in the mood. I specifically asked ‘very little ice’ and ‘just cream, no sugar.’ When I grabbed my drink I had to go and catch my train. Then as I sipped it on the train I realized there was actually a lot of sugar, and half the drink consisted of ice. I can say, at least I’m not a diabetic or I would have been more upset. I drank about half of it and then threw it away. I know it’s not the end of the world, but it was just a big disappointment to me, I should have just made coffee at home that day and saved the $ 2.50.

Love dunkin coffee but all locations are the same. What made this one five stars is Mr. Lee. He was cheery, helpful and uplifting in a non-bubbly way. He even gave my son a free donut! Love that service! Keep it up!

I have never ordered from the Baskin Robbins here, so this is only a review of the Dunkin Donuts. The place, though tiny, is clean and the workers are friendly and patient. Unfortunately, this location has little else going for it. They close at 10:00, which may be late for a coffee shop, but I am accustomed to Dunkin Donuts being 24 hours. I wouldn’t dock stars for this except that it causes bigger issues; if you come in any time in the evening, there are very few donut types available and they’re far from fresh. On the bright side, the coffee is fine even if you come in late(I used to hate DD coffee, but the French Vanilla is pretty good).

I was sad when Riese replaced all of their Midtown DD with Tim Horton’s. But the sadness was contained because I have this DD near my place and the Midtown DD near my office always made my coffee too sweet. I come here for the French Vanilla with bagel or donut whenever I have to commute outside of Manhattan via rental car for work at the crack of dawn… or on weekends when I’m not quite in the mood for Mud or Ninth St Espresso. On an interesting note, I was once pushed by an old lady during a weekend visit. The space is quite narrow with tables and she chose to sit at the table right behind the register even though the other tables were empty. She decided I was in her way and shoved me! I was flabbergasted.

For some weird reason, the area between 14th and 7th street on first avenue is almost devoid of anything resembling a Starbucks or comfortable café that you can sit in and chill out with a nice drink, so after some running around on a hot day I needed some a/c and an iced coffee. Fortunately I ran across this DD on first avenue before I went mad. I’m sort of surprised I like this place so much. It’s rather tiny with only three tables and six seats. It’s more of a hallway than a café, but it’s almost never crowded and the place is really nice and clean. I’ve been to DD’s with flies buzzing around but this place was spotless. The service is quick and friendly as well. What prompted me to write this review was how the staff interacted with each other while servicing their customers. The two workers were super friendly with each other(I believe one of them was the manager) and they were joking around a lot, but whenever customers showed up, they snapped to attention and got down to work. It was very good to see. So if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable spot to take a load off for a bit and you need coffee, ice cream or donuts to do it — drop by this place to chill.

This is where I go when I don’t have time to make my Stumptown in my French press. This is also where I go when I want *a lot* of coffee(have you seen their large size? Good lord. Perfect for a hangover though.) This is where I go when I want iced coffee(because why would there be ice in my own freezer?) And this is where I go when I want to be tempted by sugary treats like ice cream(Baskin Robbins, anyone?), donuts(what are those? I thought donuts had bacon on them?) and muffins(ok, I broke down and had a ‘seasonal’ pumpkin one. Verdict: too sweet). I hesitate to give it four stars, but DD is better than some other chains AND the darling counter girl knows my order.
