The pharmacist was rude when I was getting glasses, and confused by my choice. The rest of the store is great, the makeup part is nice, as well as the snacks and other things. It is a decent Duane Reade, but not 5 stars.

Pharmacist is very rude! Otherwise the rest of store is fine. If it wasn’t for rude pharmacist, I would have given the store 5 stars.

Store #14409 This Duane Reade(now Walgreens) is smaller than the newly renovated Duane Reade’s. It does not contain a bakery within nor a frozen food department, and surely no prepared foods as sandwiches on-the-go for the New York State of Mind. However, it does carry a limited Walgreens brand name since the acquisition for its pharmacy department. Attending to my workplace injuries, I was gravely disappointed for the lack of name brands as Johnson & Johnson and very limited selection, Curad brand for bandages and first aid cream/antibiotic. With inflation in conjunction of today’s ailing economy, first aid cream/antibiotic was always increasingly expensive as ever amount to $ 6.29 and Walgreens watershield bandage at an utter $ 4.49. Morning rush hour queue moves quickly amid the cashier was yapping away into her handheld speaker for a personal call on her cell phone while issuing my change and receipt.

This is not for the store proper(which seems to not have what I’m looking for on a regular basis) but for the pharmacist team working in the back. While pharmacist A went out in the rain to get the medicine I needed from another store, pharmacist B spent real time and care giving advice to two customers who had medical issues that didn’t quite rate a doctor visit. Visiting the pharmacy is generally something done out of misery, but these two women manage to make the experience more than pleasant. Bravo, unsung heroes of Duane Reade!

Both main pharmacists are extremely nice. Other than that, what you’d expect from a Duane Reade.

I was lucky to find a bottle of super expensive lotion my dermatologist told me to get. It also cost significantly more here than at my local Duane Reade in Queens. A little sparse & overpriced but that seems to be the norm for any Duane Reade in Manhattan.

They never reeeally have what I want, yet I spend more here than I’d like to admit because it’s so close to work. Pop right in; pop right out. What? Listen, I gotta get to 100 Reward Points, otherwise, how will I ever get my $ 5 off coupon? Watch out though, ’cause those suckas have expiration dates. Insulting. Duane Reade, you are just like that floozy Nelly Furtado. You make me work hard so I can spend hard. You say you’ll love me, love me long time, but if that’s true, maybe next time you can start carrying more of my usual products? It’s not like I wake up with this face.
