My work had a health fair and they convinced me to give acupuncture a try to help cure the restless legs and also to try and lose a couple pounds.(Hey why not!) I was very very nervous because I have a severe fear of needles but the acupuncturist helped me relax and told me what to expect. You could definitely feel the needle, but it wasn’t painful. It was actually more surprising how not painful it was. They did the front and left me to relax for about 10 minutes, then came in and removed the needles and then did the back, waited 10 minutes and then they removed those. Next came the cupping– which is a suction cup that they move all down your back to help with your Qi followed by a full full back massage. It was awesome. It was relaxing. And I left feeling incredibly calm and zen. I refer to it as blissed out. I’ve been going now for a few weeks and I plan to continue. It’s been a great experience thus far and I find Dr. Chen and her assistants to be kind and very sweet. A great experience!
