love it love it! My crème puff was a symphony of almondiness, hazelnuttiness, creaminess and, of course, puffiness. It was light and airy and sweet. muah! The space is indeed small but they do have two tables set out with some chairs. I’m keeping a star because they wouldn’t let us sit at them. Whaaa? Um, I think they’d agree, their desserts are not best enjoyed on the go! We had to walk back to my apartment and eat them there. Still delicious but it did take a little out of the whole over-the-top Parisian experience ;)

Dousoeur de Paris is definitely the most lovely Parisian pastry salon I found so far in NY. Their wrapping style is so unique and beautiful. It’s like a mini pyramid. Not only their desserts look good but taste very good. Very satisfying for their price ranging mostly $ 3 to $ 8. Their sweetness relieves my stress from work :) Tip: Some seating in the shop. Open for breakfast, lunch, teatime and supper.

The best café au lait I’ve ever had! I’m in love with this romantic little spot. True it’s not very budget friendly but it’s not for everyday dessert options. We split 3 desserts between 3 of us, which was way too much. Everything was delicious! Espresso bouche noel type log, strawberry puff and a carmel flavored pastry snowman with blue icing and 3 coffees came to $ 36… go here to treat yourself and take a mental vacation to Paris.

Very tiny(I mean, really tiny! 3 small round tables with 2 seats each?) posh salon with sophisticated simple décor. All the cakes in the glass case look very beautiful and expensive. I ordered a cake with delicious white cream sandwiched between merengues and some berries on top, which was very expensive($ 6) considering its size. Sure it was delicious, but it left me somehow unsatisfied… Could it be because I finished it literally in 3 bites, which means each bite costs $ 2? Hmmmm… This place isn’t for a commoner like me!

found this place one weekend on my way to biscolatte when i joined two other people ogling a ribbon-trimmed mini-macaron tree. i can’t help but love the idea that this punny patisserie even exists on 10th avenue. given my love for ridiculously small eateries, the layout of the café appropriately consists of one display case full of pain au chocolat, crème caramel, and various other french pastries and three tables that barely fit two people each. the café crème is mostly definitely reminiscent of paris, but unfortunately so are the prices. nonetheless, dousoeur is perfect in its frenchness down to the music on the speakers.

Looking like a Paris apartment with warm mylanta colored walls, comphy Louis the something chairs a pretty chandelier and some small tables and chairs. WOW! Two sisters(dousoeur) are who own this corner spot, one is the baker and the other the server. The pasteries are immediately eye goobled up as 1. gorgeous and 2. absolutement(sic) authentic. So I sat and ordered a little cake with apples, custard cream and tiny walnuts. SUPERB! The feeling here is very French and unrushed and the few patrons looked so happy as why wouldn’t they be. The pastries are classic and pricey, my little cake served on a doiley on a little silver tray with a small glass of water, tre European was $ 6 and I cant wait to go back.

A new patisserie and salon run by two native French sisters(hence the name, a play on «two sisters» and«douceur,» the French word for sweet shop). The place is tiny, with just three small tables, but I have not found more authentic French pastries anywhere in the US. Dianne, one of the sisters, is extremely welcoming and friendly. The pair makes everything in-house(the kitchen takes up most of the space, and they do catering), from the delicate macaroons to the coffee. Apparently there is also more substantial food, though I didn’t try it. The atmosphere is great, with eclectic French music soaking the place in a relaxed vibe, coupled with the ornate salon furniture. Truly a slice of Paris. It isn’t cheap, but you’re paying for the authenticity and indisputable quality. Definitely worth a visit for a mental escape, some great food or a gift that will really stand out.
