This is a great place for lunch in the FiDi and they also have a a decent happy hour from 4−6pm. I enjoyed the burrata and we also had some flatbreads which were a nice quick option. Staff was super friendly and took amazing care of us.

Good décor/ambiance, great bar area, and good service. We came in for dinner after having some HH sake at Haru across the street. Weirdest part of the whole dining experience was that there’s a sign that says SEATYOURSELF. I usually hate that. and for a somewhat upscale restaurant, I expected a hostess. Well, there was NO problem with that because a waitress was at our table, literally 3 seconds after we sat. Awesome. Kudos. We ordered drinks first then ordered some entrees. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. It lacked a bit of flavor — nothing a little more pepper can’t fix. I’d try something else next time though. For a Thursday, the place was not nearly as packed as any other establishments in the neighborhood. Well. I guess FiDi isn’t really the area to be partying it up and I would never think of FiDi when I’m thinking«good food/restaurants.» So for the neighborhood, you’ve done well. They have a great lunch deal when you check into Unilocal(20% off) — I’ve saved it for future use!

Staying in the hotel so we figured we would get drinks in the hotel bar. The waitress was sooo sassy we just gave up and went back to our room! What a shame! The attendant who checked us in to the hotel was so great we were hoping the same level of service would be continued throughout the establishment.

My aunt was in town staying at the Andaz Hotel, so we met her for dinner. On a Monday evening, it was pretty open — you can seat yourself so we took a corner booth and settled in with some waters and the menu. My guy went with the burger, my aunt selected the chicken sandwich, and I selected the kale salad with burrata. My salad was probably the worst of the three items. it was a few handfuls of baby dinosaur kale, one radish sliced thin, a handful of blueberries(a few past their prime), and one whole mound of burrata on top. The dressing was tangy and delicious, but there was a lot of it. And, really — the cheese and the blueberries and the radish didnt go together at all. My guy’s burger — he says(I didnt get a bite) — was decent. it was a very thin patty and they gave him 4 – 5 smashed baby potatoes on the side. He says«I was still hungry after… thats good»(he’s trying to cut back on his evening meal). So — if youre on a diet but want to indulge, the burger is apparently a good choice? My aunt had the winning dish — it was the chicken sandwich. It was tender, served on a roll with chipotle aioli and bacon and tomato and it came alongside a small side salad withe strawberries and the same vinaigrette as mine. For the price, I would recommend looking into other options in the vicinity. NOTE: When business owners and managers listen to comments and reply back, it earns high kudos in my book. Thank you Dina Rata for listening!

We took my boss out for a birthday lunch. We chose the restaurant based on the reviews. From the pictures it looked upscale to me but its a restaurant in the entrance of the hotel and a seat yourself kinda place. They brought us water and took our lunch order but never asked if we wanted anything to drink besides water. My co-worker and I both had the appetizer salad with strawberries and goat cheese. The strawberries were fresh and tasty but there was very little goat cheese in the salad. It was much larger than an appetizer — we probably should have chosen it as an entrée. The salad was OK but not great. Two other co-workers had chicken noodle soup appetizer. It was also very large and they felt they could have eaten that as an entrée. For the entrée I had the grilled cheese. It was interesting flavors as it was a cranberry walnut bread with beecher’s flagship cheese. I felt a stronger flavored cheese would have been better or maybe a bit more cheese. I love good restaurants and because of that am not easily won over. My boss is similarly tough on restaurants and did not like it much either. I expected more from this place based on the reviews and the fact that it is in the Andaz.

I never do Unilocal reviews, because it takes too much time and it’s tedious as hell. But I decided to make an account and go through the steps to make Dina Rata my first one. I tried the burrata salad and the and it was pretty good. I don’t really like huge globs of cheese, but the taste wasn’t overwhelming and the portion size was perfect. The spring garlic and chard was tasty as hell, especially when the server brought it with an array of breads(I never like just one type of bread, it’s so boring). The beef and bacon burger that I split with my friend was BOMB. I don’t eat meat too much these days, but my friend was in the mood and wouldn’t have it alone. That alone made me rethink my eating habits. It wasn’t burned or too juicy and I didn’t need to ask for my usual ketchup-mustard-bbq sauce combo of sauce to inundate my food in. Props to the chef. I liked the vibe of the place. It had rustic, comfy feel to it so it’s a good place to go unwind. Usually most restaurants fall into the category of being intimate, small, and dimly lit for a romantic element, but it had a pretty spacious vibe and didn’t feel like I was pigeonholed. I was there for a solid 2 hours

This place was beyond horrible. Do not eat here if you have any other option. Rude restaurant staff, including a guy who yelled vicious and gendered obscenities at a woman in my party. Called her a «class A b! tch,» said she was on a short list of people he was going to ask not to come back, then told her not to come back; refused to bring out his manager when asked, and more. That’s just a sample — this guy lost it. Completely unacceptable, yet this guy was apparently not fired, because he was seen a few days later on the premises, still working. I did not feel safe here after the incident.

Love this place — great date spot or for after work drinks and bites with coworkers. I came in here recently after work with some of my colleagues and we loved it. They have an extensive cocktail menu(the Ivy Fizz and Jack’s Martini are awesome) and the food is really fresh and delicious. We split a bunch of dishes — they have some really interesting dips like the Smoked Salmon Belly Spread and Spring Garlic and Chard dip. We also got the grilled cheese, burrata kale salad and salmon, which were all delicious. They also have a beer garden right outside which is great for happy hour and attracts the Wall Street crowd. They even have games including a giant jenga! Would definitely recommend. Can’t wait to come back!

I came here with a friend who was visiting from out of town, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t usually prefer to dine at hotel restaurants because I feel like they are a bit stuck up, and the food isn’t really anything special. I was definitely proven wrong! First of all, the service was amazing! Our server was very attentive, but not to the point of being annoying(which often happens). The food was amazing as well! Their muscles are some of the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely travel all the way from Queens to dine here again, even if I didn’t have a friend staying at the hotel.

I was looking to go to Andaz’s old bar, 75 but realized it’s gone and now Dina Rata is the new bar and restaurant. Was pleasantly surprised, much larger and better food menu than 75 Bar had. The grilled cheese is the best! Going back next week with some friends.

Loved Dina Rata! Went with two girlfriends for lunch and everything we had was delicious. When you dine don’t miss their potato tostones appetizer and make sure someone at your table orders the grilled cheese. The field greens salad was also fresh and delicious. It’s also worth mentioning that the waitstaff was excellent. We will definitely be back.

I live in UWS so I never trek down to FiDi. Moseying around the area on a lazy Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend and saw this place on a whim. Had no idea what the cuisine was like, because I have an Iphone 4 which is the equivalent of owning a beeper in 2015, but it was nestled quaintly in a secluded part of the street, away from the bustling crowds near Trinity Church. All I’m going to say, is that they have the Best. Damn. Grilled. Cheese. Straight up, my lactose-intolerant boyfriend decided he would reverse his condition and fell in love with my sandwich. He even ate the crust… THECRUST. THAT’S LIKENOMAN’S LAND. I had to order a second one. You’d think a basic sandwich that I’d eaten since the first grade would taste the same(sorry mother). I decided to really up the ante and take the flourless chocolate cake, and that was stellar too. Liked the vibe of the place a lot more than I would’ve thought. Usually hotel restaurants have a stiff, forced vibe, but Dina Rata strayed from that. It wasn’t pretentious and had a very casual, approachable feel to it. Definitely would go again.

I’ve only been here for drinks and haven’t tried any of their food but this is my new go– to place being that it’s so super close to me. My girlfriend also lives super close by so we will usually meet here for a drink or two as a night cap. They have a pretty wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails. We are currently making our way down the entire cocktail menu. I’ve gone through all of their tequila based drinks and they were all pretty tasty. I’m moving on to the vodka drinks and will report back on my favorites!

I was one star because it was just ok, really disappointing for Andaz. When I asked for a Bloody Mary, the waitress said she’d «try to make one». I got vodka with tomato juice and a skewer of olives and onions. Our roasted mushroom appetizer tasted like it was made days before and refrigerated. Would have been much better if served warm. My friend’s medium rare burger came out raw and had to be sent back. My three cheese mushroom Mac w bacon was yummy except you could hardly taste any truffle oil. Service was minimal. They were inattentive and we had to stare them down until they looked up for us to see what we needed. I will most likely never go back.

At 7pm on a Thursday night Dina Rata was roaring with post-work Wall Streeters and I was disappointed to see that the dining area is really just along the walls facing the full bar. There is a separate space to the left but it was reserved for a private event. Despite my initial trepidation, I emerged from the dinner fully satisfied with the food and service. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I had a Vieuxcarre at her suggestion and my friends tried some of the seasonal cocktails– everything was delicious. We started with the oven-roasted chili shrimp which was delicious and ultra-spicy, I was pleasantly surprised with their liberal use of sriracha. My heart was set on the pomegranate glazed short ribs but alas they were sold out. Thank god they were because I chose the 3-cheese mac n cheese instead and it was heavenly. Shell pasta perfectly ensconced the mix of parmesan, smoked gouda, and swiss cheese, as well as crispy bacon, cremini mushrooms, and hint of truffle. This was probably my favorite version of mac n cheese ever! The kale salad was also spot on. I tasted no bitterness in the kale and it was balanced nicely with radish, cucumber, tomato confit, and burrata cheese. Tossed lightly in a lemony vinaigrette, it was a simple and fresh dish that I can’t wait to try reproducing at home.
