Totally corrupt. Will not accept credit cards(even though the sign says they do) or pay to have the atm in restaurant fixed. They also arbitrarily take things off the menu when they don’t feel like making them

Don’t waste your time. The two guys that work here are the rudest people. It shocking that this place I still open. I will never go to this place again, and I have stupidly gone more then once. The food is mediocre. A Halal truck has better food and that’s street meat!

D Lish Pita looks like a place where you go eat and run !!! I was drinking at sophies few blocks down and my friend started to get hungry, after a quick google search, this was the closest mediterranean nearby. It is kind of self serve environment. I order the chicken shawarma and my friend ordered the shish kaboob. I am much delighted to say the my Shawarma was«D Lish» and rice which came with it was good too. It wasn’t a Basmati rice, I think its called para boil rice but I am not sure. However, the hummus was little watery… oh ya! the food does comes with little side of salad, that was good. Moreover, I took a bite out of my friends shish kaboob and I was completely disappointed. it was dry and little burned too. So, If you are going to D Lish, be ready to be litle D-isappointed. Conclusion: Not the finest NYC has to offer for a quick, cheap bite and they are little expensive for the quality of the food they provide.

It’s been 1 hr and 30 mins now after I ordered from this place. It said their delivery time was 30 – 45 mins. I have called the place multiple times just to hear multiple times how the delivery guy was confused and how he was here. First time he was supposedly here was more than 20 mins ago… After 2 hrs of the food not being here I cancelled my order — or so they said. I doubt they will actually refund the charge without another fight. It’s ridiculous. Do not order from this place!

I created an account just for this review. I live on the same block as this place and was a regular. I went there tonight and the same guy who has been working there forever decided to give me this when I ordered a chicken shwarma: The pita sandwich is 1⁄3rd full. It is usually/always completely full. I went back and asked him why this happened and he played dumb. Imagine going to a bar, ordering a beer and the glass is 1⁄3rd full. This seems like a mistake that’s hard to make. The food itself is actually pretty good, and I know it’s just a $ 5 falafel but I am vexed. After I told him my order, I started testing on my phone so maybe just stare at him while he assembles your pita if you want a full one?(I wasn’t on my phone previous times) In any case the food is actually pretty good if you get the full amount. It might be easier to just go down the street and grab a slice of pizza or something if you are not one for mind games when you want a falafel when you are drunk. my $ 0.02

Stumbled upon this place in a drunkin search for food during happy hour. Had a veggie stuffed laffa with hummus and babaganush… maybe it was the 4 old fashioned’s I crushed beforehand but it was pretty damn tasty. If I can find it again, I will partake once more.

It’s a good run of the mill pita and falafel place in the East Village. I could imagine this place does really well with the late night«im wasted» crowd. The man making the sandwiches behind the counter was very nice and the shwarma I had was fairly tasty.

I rolled out of the Pyramid at 4 a.m., NYState closing time, and needed a snack. If I was some kind of athlete I would’ve walked over to Bereket, but that, of course, is six and a half blocks away. Dan Duran was strolling out with me and would’ve waited while we got a slice, but neither of us have the funds, lifestyle, or inclination to sit down and eat. Indoors, chewing, missing everything, paying. I got a falafel here several years ago and it wasn’t so good. The guy working the counter in the wee hours was def at the boiling point«Water!» he said, «Hot sauce». not so much, i replied. I looked at my change, a couple bucks short. «The Water» he repeated. Oh no, no, i didn’t mean that kind of water, in a bottle. He took a dollar outta the till and half threw it toward me. I hear that falafel shop is related to the prestigious one that was on 9th street forever. Brother, cousin. Whoever is running D Lish is miserable and making everyone else miserable. That lamb was pink, and that man is a spitfire. Something’s wrong.

I ordered delivery from this place recently since I’m surrounded by mcdonalds and Burger King at my workplace. it definitely was NOT worth it. The shwarma(or so it was supposed to be) was so dry and flavorless, and not tender at all but rather rubbery. It took me about five minutes to chew each piece. They gave me enough rice to only barely cover the bottom of the plastic container. I didn’t even bother eating the salad. The hummus was just ok. I was better off going back to Queens and getting GOOD shwarma for half the price of this and double the proportions. I will not be eating from this place again.

So this was the first time ordering from D-Lish Pita and I gotta say it was great. When I ordered it was a pretty confusing one with a lot of substitutions but they were happy to accommodate, they even called me back just to make sure they got it right. When we got the food the platters ingredients were all smashed together and not separate like they ought to be. I personally am alright with that but my girlfriend doesn’t like hummus as much and there was barely any rice. So we call back and ask if we can just get chicken and rice. They were very apologetic and extremely accommodating. They replaced our entire order plus gave us dessert! And not only that but the owner himself hand delivered the food and would not except a tip! I have a huge amount of respect for some one who is willing to do all of that. 5 stars and if I could give them more I would. To the owner, if you are reading this Thank You! p. s. the food is great!

I’ve lived a block from D Lish for 3 years. I’m a loyal customer who has ordered food from here dozens of times. Unfortunately, it is time for my Unilocal review, and it’s not going to be pretty. Three years ago, D Lish was amazing! Maybe it wasn’t D Lish, but another shawarma place with different ownership? Because things sure have changed in the last 1 – 2 years. Three years ago, the prices were much lower, the portions bigger, and everything even tasted much better. The service was incredible, I knew all the workers and they were all really friendly and efficient. What went wrong? Prices have been bumped up at least 2x in the last 2 years. Portions have gone down considerably. Even the containers for ketchup have gotten smaller. It looks like management changed and he fired all the previous workers, and now he has a bunch of unhappy tools half-assing shawarma pitas. The worst thing is they also have a new iPad which they use for swiping credit cards and so on. They should have saved that money because at this rate D Lish is going out of business. I hate to write this review, but I really hate the path D Lish has taken. It used to be my hidden gem, my go-to. Now I rarely, if ever go. It’s really sad how things can change so much in three years. Sorry D Lish.

I always stop by this place when I’m down in this block. And it’s usually only late at night. Definitely on my way home from the bars. My favorite is the falafel gyro. Extremely flavorful and topped with white/red sauce, giddy up! Cheap treat to soak up that liquor. Not a joint I’d stop by sober though.

To be fair, I’d had a couple of drinks(5) by the time I ate here but I gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the«shewafel.» That’s right, it’s a shwarma and a felafel all rolled into one. Super spicy, and perfect for late night eating. The guys running the place were really nice as well.

Really really terrible. Maybe it’s because I went late at night, maybe it’s because I’m used to The Hummus Place which is very close by and far superior, but there was nothing good about my meal. I got the shwarma plate and the chicken was disgusting. It tasted like it had been boiled. No flavor whatsoever. The hummus was ok but definitely not good. The only reason I give it two stars is because the service is very nice, but it’s a damn shame when the guy making your food is the highlight of the meal.

I was greeted at the door by the delivery guy with a huge smile! Whenever I go in they always remember me too, I like that. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Every time I eat from here, the food is prepared perfectly and is so full of flavor that my soul starts to exist on another level every time I take a bite. Their shwarmas(and everything else) are so awesome that it’s intoxicating. Oh, inexpensive too. :) I love you D-Lish Pita.

Walk up middle-eastern food. Super fresh and cheap. When I stopped in, the owner was hanging out near the counter and was very friendly. I recommend patronizing any place where the food is good, the store is clean, and the owner gives a damn. D Lish Pita is one os those spots. I’m a fan for sure!

Great, cheap falafel and shawarma. Most everything is under $ 10, plates are very filling, and sandwiches are easy to eat on the run. They use chicken for the shawarma which is reasonably moist and well-seasoned. The kicker here is that they have all the ingredients that most of your dive-y shawarma shops are missing — carrot relish, pickled cabbage, tabbouleh, hummus, etc. Getting it all in one hot pita pocket is excellent. Definitely worth a stop for a late-night bite!

This pita truly is D-lish! I’ve been calling for more shawarma places with ACTUALSHAWARMATOPPINGS. This place has them! Pickles! Red cabbage! Tabouleh! Now that’s how you make a shawarma! The meat used is chicken, and not dry as the previous poster mentioned. Good prices! D-lish, you are a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

Very happy to have this new addition to the hood. Clean environment. Cheap. Tasty and decent-sized chicken shawarma for $ 3.75. Have yet to try the $ 2 falafel. BAMMO

Good falafel, good baba ghanoush, nice baklava, and plentiful, fresh vegetables. The food is affordable($ 3 for a falafel sandwich). We also had a chicken shawarma plate which was supposedly delicious — the chicken was flavorful and not dry as it tends to be at some other places. D-lish also offers sides such as fries. Service was quick and professional. This place opened just a few weeks ago in the space previously occupied by Habib’s, but I really hope D-lish lasts. Don’t really like their name(D-lish kind of sounds like D-list…), but the food is cheap and good, so I will be back. Edit: downgraded to 3 stars in Nov 2013. Questionable sanitary practices and saw them storing French fries in an uncovered container on the floor.
