I love love love this place. Whenever I am in NYC, in the area, I can justnthrow a coat over my PJ’s, run down to Cup N Saucer and get comfort breakfast food quickly with a smile. so well packaged, imcan run home and enjoy. In all the times I ‘ve ordered, they’ve never messed up an order, and always exceed my expectations. Man I wish I were in NYC now. Jonesing for thei food. Oh, and Hi-Line Market is right across the street to get whatever they don’t have.

Review is for DELIVERY– Very impressed by the delivery time(10 to 15 minutes shorter than quoted on Seamless, on a Sunday morning). Food is simple but delicious with generous portion sizes. Boyfriend and I both ordered omelettes. They did not skimp on meat and each was served with potatoes and toast. We even got a free donut with our order! I had read a review on Seamless of this happening to someone else and was really pleasantly surprised to see one included with our breakfast too. This will definitely be one of our go-to breakfast spots when we are too lazy to get out of bed and want to order delivery.

One of my favorite places in NYC. No frills, no tomfoolery, no precious crap, no LOCALLYSOURCEDINGREDIENTSFROMDAILY-MASSAGEDLIVESTOCK or bearded muppets behind the counter — it’s all go, no slow at the Cup and Saucer. All of the classic breakfasts are great, but my dish of record is the potato and egg sandwich(on a hard roll, with cheese and hot sauce) and a tall cup of the smoothest iced coffee I’ve ever had. Far smoother than the battery acid cold brew that is sold at twice the price at every Brooklyn douchefest. Still smoother than Al Green singing you to sleep on a slow-moving cloud. And the«stuck in the early 70s» vibe is fantastic. You feel as if you’ve traveled back in time and landed in «Serpico» or «The French Connection,» minus the attendant danger and plus sandwiches. It’s a relic of a bygone era that I’m sad I wasn’t around for, but am happy I can still experience here. In the real estate circle jerk that NYC has become, full of people like the pharma bro and the Kardashians making life unliveable and intolerable for normal people, the Cup and Saucer stands tall, impervious to all that is soft and whack. I hope it stays another 1000 years.

*** Based upon delivery orders ONLY*** I work in the Soho area and I am always looking for great takeout or delivery that is fast, use quality ingredients, and taste delicious. I have ordered from his place three time in the past month and they never let me down. I have ordered a chicken mushroom sandwich that I can NEVER finish and their lamb gyro. Amazing. They .They got me locked in as a return customer.

If you’re looking to satiate your craving for the diner fare the LES is sorely lacking, look no further than Cup and Saucer. I’m not entirely sure how I went so long working in this area without knowing about these guys! Firstly, praise whoever is behind this business for keeping a realistic price point for a breakfast platter. At diners elsewhere in New York you will be charged upwards of $ 10.00 for pancakes or eggs, bacon, and potatoes where here they’re still under $ 7.00. To make matters even more splendid the portion sizes are fairly large… it’s difficult to get simply stuffed in this area beyond dumplings, so for this I’m very grateful! Of their food so far I’ve had the diner basics… pancakes, chicken fingers, sandwiches, fries, and chicken noodle soup. Of them all I most enamored by their noodle soup as theirs is the best in the area. The pancakes were surprisingly fluffy and tasteful for a place that doesn’t specialize in anything particular(be sure to ask for them plain if you don’t like butter because they do the slathering pre-serving). If you’re super lucky the counter folks will put a free doughnut in your to-go bag, making the experience all the more charming!

Good food nothing else to say. I was pleased. The place is small and tight though. And they close early.

So old school and unassuming small joint in the middle of a bustling Chinatown. It’s like so misplaced but so wonderful because when I get tired of Chinese, I come here and eat my usual eggs and potatoes breakfast. And normally I can finish a plate but here, it’s probably extra greasy and I eat ¾ instead. But so so so delicious and filling. If you’re into it, I highly recommend it! But it doesn’t look like much so just a warning haha

Totally hit the spot. Really small inside but don’t let it bother you. My family had to split up 2×2 to find a space but it’s kinda cool that way. It’s loud, crowded, but good price and good service. Feels like New York to me.

I don’t think there are many places like this left in New York, especially in the Chinatown/LES area. First of all, you want to get here before 11:00AM. That’s because they have a breakfast special where they discount a bunch of typical stuff, like two eggs, sausages, coffee, juice, etc etc. They also have lunch time and dinner time items such as tuna melts and burgers here as well. All the food I’ve had here is quite excellent, and I’d definitely recommend going for breakfast, as the place opens early. Keep in mind that this place closes pretty early, so it’s not really ideal for dinner. Also, I’m not 100% sure how tipping works. The food is brought to you, but it’s not clear to me exactly if it counts as service, since there isn’t much of it. Perhaps someone can clarify for me.

Petit diner sans pretention, parfait pour un petit déjeuner typiquement américain. Leurs panecakes sont excellents et l’omelette est juste une vraie tuerie! Si vous passez par chinatown arrêtez vous, ça vaut le coup!

good for a quick, cheap breakfast. be aware that this place is LOUD, so maybe skip it on those sensitive hangover days. it seemed like they were going out of their way to bang pots and smash pans! skinny little place with good service & standard diner food.

It appears to be my habit to patronize at least one old-school greasy spoon every time I find myself in New York. I’ve been to quite a few… Joe Jr., Johny’s Luncheonette, Gemini Diner. It must be a Seinfeld thing. I bookmarked Cup & Saucer years ago, but I never made it until this last trip when I was staying about ten minutes away in SoHo. Understand I just got off a redeye from San Francisco, dropped my bag off and just meandered over at 8AM with little purpose in my step. That became clear when bantam-sized Chinese women buzzed by me with their pink plastic shopping bags in tow, probably already done with their chores for the day before heading out for mah jong with their friends. I was surprised how small and cramped the place was and that it wasn’t run by a Chinese family since I thought I was in the middle of Chinatown. There was an empty stool at the edge of the counter that could barely contain my billowy arse, but indeed I managed to balance myself on it with some élan. There was a lot to look at — the lightboards above with pictures of some of their dishes(photo: ), a laminated two-sided menu that barely contained the print, the dishes that the other diners were scarfing down. Before I caught my breath, I was handed a glass of water and poured a mug of coffee in the middle of which the waitress asked, «Coffee?» Good thing I needed it and quite badly considering my somnambulant condition(photo: ). I must have ordered the $ 9.50 Mushroom, Spinach, Onion & Tomato Omelette which came with an armful of grilled potatoes, some near-burnt and all of it well oiled. I also ordered a $ 3.95 side of Beef Sausage which they simply plopped on top of my eggs. the obligatory toast looked lonely on a separate plate, a little more burnt than I prefer it but then again who’s asking me?(photo: ). Sure, it was straight-up diner fare, satisfying for what it was though the eggs were more rubbery than I was hoping and the coffee refill was slow in coming given an empty mug and a full pot were staring me in the face for a good five minutes. I almost grabbed it but then I would have to pour coffee for the French tourist batallion who were in mid-gorge. That just isn’t my cup & saucer of tea. FOOD — 3 stars… standard diner fare, slightly overcooked for so early in the morning AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… what you would expect a NYC diner to look like, capeesh? SERVICE — 4 stars… a bit on automatic pilot but that’s part of its«charm» TOTAL — 3 stars… where exactly are the cups and saucers?

The diner scene from Superman II could have been filmed at Cup & Saucer, so I was kinda loving it from the moment I walked in( ). This is a special place — an authentic NYC diner that has not been gentrified or remodeled. If you are like me and enjoy reminders of old New York, you will like it. The food is what you would expect or maybe better. I had an omelet that was good, but the mushrooms tasted uncooked and def from a can(and needless to say, probably not a bpa free one… ha). The highlight of the meal was the home fries… excellent(and when I said well-done, they listened)! Oh, and the iced coffee was not so great, so probably skip it. I will definitely be back to try more(maybe a tuna-melt). One thing I should mention, the place looks as though it would be dirt cheap, and while it is not expensive, the prices are not what you would expect. Our bill came out to just under $ 28 for 2 omelets and 2 iced coffees. I guess they have to pay Manhattan rent, so while the place looks like it was frozen in 1978 Manhattan, the prices reflect 2015(except for a few menu items like their egg and cheese on roll).

This diner has been around for as long as I can remember. The menu prices have gone up as the neighborhood is undergoing gentrification. Overall the food is standard for diner food, if you can get up out of bed early, they have a good early bird special. But if you’re like the rest of us, it gets pretty packed around brunch time, so try to get there a little earlier or order take out. Service is hit or miss but the food is consistent. Warning It’s a narrow space so be prepared to sit on top of your neighbors.

The whole time i was in NYC I felt like it was hard to find regular good food that isn’t fusion. Coming from Toronto, we just wanted to simple good food that would hit the spot. Cup & Saucer is a small diner, kind of like the one from the television show BONES but smaller. It’s unique in a sense that it’s the only diner in Chinatown but definitely still good for the food. We got the before 11 breakfast special and it came with 2 eggs, potatoes, bread. And if you want to add sausage and ham its an additional $ 3. It was something that was simple, easy and decently priced and that’s all we wanted.

Interesting tiny old school diner residing in the heart of China town. I know right? Who wants diner food when you have access to the most awesome Chinese food all around here. However, it’s like my burger craving at times. I just cannot live on rice and kimchee alone. I need variety and variety is what I should enjoy when it comes to dining. It was 9AM Saturday morning and there’s very small space for sitting by the window on the counter. You are definitely going to be shoulder to shoulder with your neighbors. It’s relatively inexpensive and the staff is very friendly. You can order breakfast or just go with burgers and sandwiches at anytime. I ended up ordering the western omelette with wheat toast and unending coffee. It tasted healthy. So strange. I expected some greasy omelette with cheap coffee but it tasted pretty awesome to my surprise. You know what? It’s a diner so expect diner food and not some overpriced brunch @ sarabeth. I should’ve ordered the steak and eggs but chickened out totally.

So good to find a great diner in the Chinatown area! The outside is super retro and the inside is classic diner with cushioned stools. Natural light essentially floods the place, which is a big plus in my book! It’s a tight spot though and it’s probably going to be one of the tiniest diners you ever go to – luckily there were still a few seats left when I went for lunch on a Tuesday. The prices are reasonable and their extensive menu has something for everyone. The sunny-side up eggs that I had were cooked perfectly, unlike many places that tend to undercook them and the egg white is still clear on top. Another good thing to note about Cup & Saucer is that their food isn’t too greasy like diner food sometimes can be. Honest food with friendly staff!

Whatever happened to affordable neighborhood diners? I was in the area early morning and was craving some good ol’ Denny’s like breakfast. Did a quick Unilocal search and this places seems to have good reviews. My friend who was with me grew up in this neighborhood and said this place has been around since he was little, so more of the reason for us to go. It’s a super tiny neighborhood diner, and I was hoping it’d be one of those awesome hole in the wall places. They’ve got a good amount of selection, pretty much anything you can think of. Got some eggs, bacon, coffee, and chocolate chip pancake. Man, they were really stingy with the chocolate chips in their pancake. My friend got some similar stuff, and between the two of us, the bill came out to be $ 44!!!@#%%?! Food was standard, definitely not worth $ 44 for diner-type breakfast. If I’m in the area and craving breakfast, I will be Unilocaling for somewhere else…

Stayed in Chinatown for an AirBnb when my friends were visiting the east coast. We were hung over so we wanted to go eat breakfast right away. This little gem was delicious. Classic diner with classic brunch food. I recommend the Corned Beef has with their delicious hash browns. If you do not have time to eat there, I believe they do pick up and they also have a nice pastry deli in the front. The staff was very nice and funny. Will be back

Dazu Kaffee.
