Was here last Saturday to pre-game with some friends before going to another spot later on during the night. Had the Great Hall drink which was fairly good along with their mac n cheese, and burger sliders. Both were very good as well. Nothing too much else to say about Cooper. Fairly average Manhattan prices for drinks and food at a bar so no surprise there and there is good enough space for seating and groups. Nice place to have a night out for a group of friends on a Friday/Saturday night or birthday occasion.

Always a great place for a low-key night to grab drinks and food with friends. Wide selection of craft beer and liquor collection, along with good-tasting food, atmosphere and a young crowd make for a good place to hang. This place opened up during my time at The Cooper Union, and the renown institution’s founder is who the place is named after. Some of the plates are named after various features of the school and barrels are used as decorations(a Cooper is someone who makes barrels).

Good bar food but drinks are watered down and boring selection. Just a place to stop in for a quick drink and appetizers.

My girlfriends and I love this place. Fish Tacos: fantastic. Salads: Splendid. Salmon: succulent. Brussel Sprouts: BRILLIANT.(Crispy and delicious) The beer selection is amazing. They’re constantly rotating the drafts so you’ll always get to try something new! All the bartenders are great. The only downside is my favorite bartender is moving back to Ireland soon. Mitch we’ll miss you!!!

Love their Monday happy hour! Buy a drink and get fish tacos for just $ 1. Even though they stuff it with a lot of cabbage the fried fish is delicious! Get the ginger beer!

Cooper’s was hopping’ when we went in around 10 on a Thursday night. We were a party of 3 and got seated right away. They were having a tap takeover with Ommegang and Boulevard. Perfect timing on Ommegang because I was in the mood for a Belgian. I had a Glommerhorn, a very nice saison. My daughter had a pale ale and my wife a Boulevard unfiltered wheat. All were excellent. We just wanted something small to eat so we shared an order of sliders and the Brussel sprouts. There were 3 sliders that were nicely cooked and tasted great. The Brussel sprouts were roasted with bacon and topped with Parmesan and other cheeses. They were very good. The slides and sprouts were a perfect light meal for the 3 of us. The service was good, friendly and prompt. All was good at Cooper’s for us!

I’m not a beer drinker so it’s usually hard for me to find a place on a low-key night that satisfies both my boyfriend, who likes his craft beer, and me, who would rather eat than drink beer. I like taking sips from his beer but I’d be overwhelmed if I was faced with a tall glass on my own. Cooper’s satisfied us both. He ordered a beer, in which I drank half of it and actually enjoyed it, and a burger. The burger was monstrous, weighing in at about half a pound. The fries were delicious, thick cut, and simply salted. The burger was juicy and cooked medium-rare to medium. The blend of meats did end up making it sometimes too oily so that the bottom bun was soaked and falling apart and the some ran down my hands. I ordered fish tacos, which came in three and beer battered and fried. I wouldn’t order this next time because the fish came in thin, small strips and a lot of the size was just the batter. It was a little plain even with the chipotle mayo. It’s not like the fish tacos you would get at taquerias, where they’re dressed with a mango/pineapple salsa or other brightly flavored condiments. I’d come to Coopers for the beer, burger, and fries, which is not at all a bad thing.

This is a super easy and convenient option for those of us looking for a casual spot to have dinner and a delicious beer. They serve tasty burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. I would avoid this place on weekends as it draws a louder, rowdier crowd. However, it’s been perfect each time we’ve been here M-F.

My friend and I came here recently prior to seeing a show in the area. I picked this place due to all the wonderful Unilocal reviews. Well, now they have one more! My friend ordered a burger and fries and I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup. We were very pleased with our meals as well as the service. We also both ordered a specialty drink which was crisp, delish and not too strong

Hadn’t been back here in a few years, since my days living in East Village, but I most recently came with a group for some post-happy hour bites and brews. The 5 of us came at around 830pm, and were seated promptly. I like that it’s one of the few good places in East Village to watch the game without having to deal with a super-douchey crowd. I got the wings and split the truffle fries with the rest of the group. The wings, while meaty, stood between the line of crispy and soggy, which I didn’t much care for. I also typically don’t like breading on my wings, so I personally would go elsewhere for wings(Croxley’s). The fries were great though, so no complaints there. The special of the night was fish and chips, which one of my buddies got. However, it was just one small piece of fried fish, and not that many fries. Sort of a rip-off for $ 19. In all, the food was only okay. However, for drinks, the beer selection is still pretty extensive, and they had some pretty good-sounding drafts. I’m a fan of the all the events they have with local breweries and such, although it does take some planning to actually make it to these events. I tried some of the cocktails too, and the variety of quality beverages is really quite impressive for a bar perceived as specializing in craft beers. So really, you can’t go wrong. Service was fine throughout our meal, although it took a while to get our check. However, it was fine, since we had planned on staying until the end of the first NCAA tournament games. Prices in general were fine, although, again, the fish and chips special wasn’t such a good special, in terms of price. Don’t know how often I’ll be back at this location, given that I live closest to the Chelsea location, but it’s a solid place for beer and sports in the area.

A few Guinnesses and wings into our St. Patty’s day evening, I was craving a burger and fries… so a quick Unilocal search later, we set off down the street to Cooper’s. The huge glass windows and the openness of the dining area made Cooper’s feel super inviting AND the perfect place to watch people parading by in their green attire. I loved that the St. Patty’s day decorations here weren’t gaudy like those at some of the other places down the block — it was quite toned down but still festive — which I always appreciate. My friend tried two beers they had on tap(both were delicious, btw) and we split the burger and hand cut fries, which turned out to be a really good idea because the burger was HUGE. and just eyeing the brown bag full of fries was enough to make me full! We got the burger medium rare, which is rare(hehe) for me since I typically like my beef a little more well-done, but I decided to give it a try since that’s how my friend usually gets his. He didn’t complain about it, so I’m assuming that it was a good medium rare! I’m still a wimp about undercooked meat so I think I would have enjoyed it a little more browned. Our waitress was super sweet and really attentive until it got busy. It took us a while to flag her down for our check at the end of the night! Otherwise, it was a very solid experience, and I’ll definitely be back for brunch or dinner sometime soon!

I haven’t had lunch or dinner here, though the menu does have a lot of appealing options. My boyfriend and I came here for a few drinks while we waiting for friends. We split the poutine, which was pretty good. The highlight, however, is the draft list. So. Many. Beers. It took us several minutes to pick beers. There are so many options! Luckily, they have flights of 4 for $ 12, which makes deciding a little easier. Plus, you get to try something you might not want to commit to without tasting.

Summary Best rustic sort of bar and restaurant. Fantastic alternative to the uneven Boulton and Watt nearby. Much better crowd too, very lively no matter the time of night. One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Atmosphere Cool crowd and rustic décor. One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. It’s lively no matter what time you go. Always very fun. Food Haven’t eaten here as of yet, will need to return for a meal! Drinks Great selection of beers with a heavier lean toward the IPA side of the spectrum. Service Very friendly and above all accommodating. I’ve now been here several times and the waitstaff and bartenders are all on point, no matter the time of evening.

I came here for happy hour on a Thursday with some friends. The specials were not great at all. However, there were a good selection of beers. The food was good as well. I tried the gnocchi, kale salad, and the burger(we split everything). The gnocchi was excellent. The prices were average for the area. I would have hoped for some better happy hour specials. The service was not good at all. The place was not busy, but our waitress never came over to our table, and kept walking by. It was unfortunate because we wanted to order more, and would have if she would have just stopped at our table when we were trying to get her attention. I don’t think I will come back any time soon with all of the options in the area.

I’ve been to cooper’s other location in Chelsea. I liked this location just as much as the other. I came with friends for drinks and small plates to snack on. We ordered margaritas, which were good. For food, we had the Mac and cheese and wings. The Mac and cheese was SO good and we didn’t even get bacon in it. The wings were also great. Service was very good. I can’t wait to return.

Slake your thirst at one of the better beer bars in the city, Cooper’s. The beer list is a frequently rotating menu of craft beer with a focus on New York craft makers. They also have themes at various times during the year, such as the twelve beers of Christmas in December. It’s a great introduction to a great craft list. They’re also not shy about allowing tastings before committing to a full glass. It’s also fairly big, and quiet during the day, so a decent place to relax, watch some tv, or meet with friends where you can actually have a conversation.

I really like this place! Great atmosphere with an area for the bar, high tops, and sit down tables. They have a rotating beer list on the chalkboard at the bar, but don’t overlook their food! In order of favorites: 1. Wings! Delicious, meaty, flavored with honey and spice. We were licking this plate clean. 2. Grilled Cheese with Creamy Tomato soup. Amazing. Thick cut bacon, sliced tomato, and multiple cheeses melted into thick cut Texas toast style bread. Comfort food at its finest. 3. Fish Tacos. Fried and served with a great slightly spicy sauce. 4. Big M@ck & Fries. The name is actually perfect because this tasted like a better version of the McDonalds burger — special sauce and all 5. Toasted Gnocchi. Served in creamy pesto sauce 6. Poutine Fries. I would pass on these. The fries are thick cut and lacked flavor. There also wasn’t much gravy or cheese curd on the fries, so difficult to share. This was the only miss for us. Drinks are great too! I recommend the Pimms Cup!

Very nice craft beer list with about 24 on tap. Not a bad spot to pre-game and have a snack. Hot pretzel sticks and beer cheese dipping sauce were ok. Nice looking bar. Looks like a cozy place to enjoy a few pints. Friendly bartenders. Seating and counter space all around to find a spot to camp out at. Clean bathrooms. Hostess needs to get a clue though. We were here on a recent Ommegang beer bar crawl and she was no help at all. Got there a few minutes early with my friends and asked her where and how it was being set up. She acted as if I had two heads on my shoulders. I explained it again and she said she had no clue what I was talking about. This all happening while there were posters for the event on the walls, and one pretty much directly behind her. I watched as she also had the same reaction to other customers coming in for the crawl. Isn’t the job of your hostess greeting guests to know what is going on during their shift? She didn’t even bother to ask a manager even after people kept inquiring about it. Ineptitude. As the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz proclaimed — «If I only had a brain». Yet, I would still come back here for a brew. The craft beer selection is tight.

I was very excited to give this place a try knowing that they have a decent amount of taps and good food. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon where I saw they had a fried chicken deal. We started with a few beers that were pretty good and the soft pretzel with beer cheese dipping sauce. This to me was the best part. Soft pretzels were very good and the beer cheese sauce was good enough to drink. My gf for the Mac and cheese which was good, not great. It’s very cheesy but just doesn’t taste the way it looks if that makes sense. I ordered the fried chicken deal, which comes with a biscuit, slaw, and gravy(also comes with a beer). He then told me they didn’t have biscuits ready so they replaced it with French fries. It’s just not the same as a biscuit when you have gravy and fried chicken. The fried chicken was boneless which is weird to me. It was good but I prefer definitely with a bone. The food was pretty good, but the guy forgot my beer and by the time he remembered, I was ready to leave anyways. Overall, pretty good place but kinda fell below the expectations. I believe I will give this another chance in the future.
