Went in here on a whim with a Boston friend. Well done! Bartender and patrons extremely welcoming and friendly. Kept the drinks and popcorn coming! I wish I lived closer…

if you’re the kind of person who reads Unilocal reviews to find a dive bar, maybe this isn’t the place for you. that said if you’ve made it this far check this place out. try to be there when dmitry is tending. that guy is funny.

Fun place with friendly bartenders and cheap drinks. A dive but in a good area to walk around and go out.

Give me a dive at times, but I will always take a great dive everyday. There are just certain reasons one goes to a dive. Clockwork has it all. Great bartenders and awesome DJ’S. Need one mention the fresh made popcorn as bar snacks to help you last the night if you did not provide yourself with the proper nutrition prior to enjoy the great drink specials. Bartenders have always been awesome. Those who may have issues, just might want to leave the needy attitudes elsewhere. It’s called a dive bar for a reason not for style. There are very few true dives left, especially in this area. Enjoy it! Punk rock, NYC Hardcore, Oi, Reggae pick your musical poison it will be there. CLOCKWORKROCKSINMYBOOK.

Let me just preface this by saying that I like dingy dive bars and oftentimes prefer one over some upscale lounge. I will also give this place credit for the cheap drinks and the free popcorn. I am however furious at the wet paint on their walls. I went to use the bathroom and brushed against the wall which left a huge blue paint stain on my black peacoat. My coat is at the dry cleaner now and they are seeing if they can get the wet paint out. If they can’t, I will have to purchase a new coat. If they can, this will just be a big inconvenience and a bill from the dry cleaner for me. I’ve never had this happen to me at any other dive bar with graffiti on their walls. Not sure if it was the bar or a patron but whoever did it is extremely inconsiderate. I don’t act like it’s the end of the world when my things get torn or lost but this is a different situation — it’s negligence. I don’t work all week to buy myself nice clothes so that someone’s lack of consideration can leave a permanent paint stain on them. I also walked out with paint all over my purse and cell phone case(but this happened in the«artsy» backroom with a table full of art supplies so that was kind of expected). I will never come back here and if you even remotely care about your things, stay away.

Excellent punk bar on the LES. Don’t be an obnoxious elitist missing out on this place cause it’s only been around 2 years. Give it a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

Great LES bar. Edgy, with good prices, great music. Loud enough because you want to hear the music. Good for talking softly near the ear of your partner, sexy and edgy! $ 5 shot+beer. Come, get drunk and have fun.

The neighborhood itself is seedy and divey. Just the way I like it. Clockwork is the areas center of the universe. Small place filled with chill(look at me, at my age calling something chill!) folks, cheap but tasty brews and killer margaritas — also nice selection of booze and music. Back area nice place to broker a deal, NOT. Wall Streeters, hipsters, disco need not apply. We actually stumbled upon it after a softball game. Some of my team mates were, eh, about it. I immediately fell for its quaint charm and hospitality. It is a must stop see/visit for anyone in the area. Near the F, J, M, Z. Easy to get to and lots of eats(which you can bring into the bar) nearby. Thanks for bringing me back to reality!

If you want an authentic dive bar, come here. NYC doesn’t have that many due to the douche bags moving in so it’s up to is to keep NYC dirty and gritty, the way it’s meant to be. The beer in tap is clean so it seems they clean their taps, a plus, graffiti all over, awesome, punk music and a very cool back room for private conversations. Sid and Nancy would be so proud. For dive bars, this is a cool place check it out. The bartender is really nice and so are the people. Just don’t be a tight jeans hipster or maybe you’ll get your ass kicked

This bar is a life raft in the sea of bullshit that is swallowing New York. Tip: bring your own tissue if you insist on using the bathroom.

The $ 5 margaritas are definitely legitimate. It’s a good place to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood, but it gets kind of claustrophobic on a weekend nights. The back room is spacious, but also kind of nightmarish. Which is good if you’re into that kind of thing, I guess.

I’m glad I made this the first stop BEFORE Beverly’s which is directly next door separated by a wall. This is a TRUE dive bar. Décor: graffiti EVERYWHERE. From what I’ve been told that night, patrons actually are allowed to add their own«creative» piece to the wall. I’m not sure if they provide the markers to do so but I’m definitely bringing my sharpie on the next go around here. Prices: are GREAT. I mean it’s NOT $ 3 you call it BUT it is $ 5 and above ALLDAY and NIGHT. Sounds good to me. Their frozen margaritas are well balanced and are $ 5 each. I would come back just for these. No joke. The tunes that are spun at this place doesn’t get me wild up or anything but I enjoy it. It’s like rock and retro rock. I definitely over dressed with my suede pants… But the lady bartender was hot and without bra which definitely gave me a great ol’ boner alone with my drink. Thanks lady. =) The guy bartender was cordial as well. If I’m ever in this area of town, I’m coming here to get my drink on. Done and done.

Good cheap diver bar where you can sit obscured in a dark corner like the best ones. It’s narrow thought which only contributes to the coziness.

If you are looking for a great punk rock dive bar, you just hit the jackpot. $ 5 beer/shot combo, frozen margaritas, wells or bloody marys! How can you beat that?! There’s always awesome music playing. Also Punk Rock BBQ’s every Saturday just got implemented.(4pm-10pm) Kirk is usually working Saturdays= great tunes and stiff drinks!

First! At what point does Lower East Side become a different neighborhood? Probably when the name turns into Rutgers Street, which happens to be right where this shiny new bar Clockwork resides. Pumping new life into this cozy block at the border of Chinatown/LES is a cool, graffiti-laden punk rock bar with a bit more of a chic edge. Sort of like when your hippie buddy decides to finally take a shower and buy come clothes that aren’t made of hemp. There’s something refined under there, and as Clockwork works out of its soft opening phase, it’s already proving to be a wise little dive. It’s a small, narrow space that shares a wall(and an address, strangely) with another new bar called Beverly’s(more on that later). They’ve got a few nice beers on tap, a small alcohol selection, a few canned beers, and a back room with spray painted lyrics from the Ramones«I Want To Be Sedated.» Me thinks they’re onto something special and they’ll be a fixture in the ‘hood for years to come. Their grand opening is forthcoming, so be sure to check ‘em out before they get way too busy.
