These types of places are for very simple dishes. I wouldn’t get anything other than soup, egg rolls or fried rice. I only stopped by for an egg roll and a bottle of water. They didn’t mess it up and let me sit down at one of the 3 tables they had(no one else was there) to rest from a long walk.

I’m really confused by all the glowing reviews on Unilocal and Seamless. I ordered the general tso chicken combo platter with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Although the portion is generous, the chicken and rice were beyond flavorless. My coworker was teasing me as I drowned it with duck sauce to make it tolerable so my $ 10.50 wasn’t completely wasted. I didn’t even bother trying the egg roll… never again

Possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered sesame chicken and still trying to find a single piece of chicken in my dish.

This place has THE best takeout sweet and sour chicken in the city. And place your order online for pickup and it’ll be ready at lighting speed. Of course they do delivery too — but many do their entrees are so cheap that even meeting the delivery minimum is hard. Especially appreciate that they do small and large entrée portions depending on how many leftovers you want to wind up with. They’ve got a couple tables inside if for some reason you want to eat on the spot — but I’d say takeout is the way to go!

Golden Wok offers the most reasonable prices for a Chinese food take-out place in the West Village. The food is not incredible, but it is fairly good, and the delivery is very quick. I have been ordering from this establishment for years, and not once have I been disappointed.

The food is always flavorful and delicious! Delivery is always fast and the food always arrives hot. Everything I’ve ever ordered from here is soooo good and priced reasonably. Really glad I found this little«hole in the wall» Chinese Joint! I crave their Roasted Pork Fried Rice every day and order it often knowing I’m gonna eat half for dinner and the rest for breakfast! Yes… it’s just that Good!

Great place. My family and I constantly order from here and our order always comes in a fast and timely matter. The workers are always very nice and the food is inexpensive. It is one of the best Chinese restaurants in NYC, although I do not recommend sitting down there and eating it. It is more of a take-out or order-in restaurant.

Great food. General Tso is on point. The Chicken Wings and fries or fried rice is my usual go to meals. And the delivery is always quick and the delivery guy is always nice.

Good stuff. I get the lo mein and spicy pork. They are the fastest delivery I’ve seen.

Great place to order delivery or take-out when you are craving some cheap yet fast Chinese food. The general Tsos chicken is tasty and as fresh as greasy Chinese can get… I just made myself hungry.

Checked-in twice and already Duke. I don’t really wonder why. This is your typical fast food Chinese here. I stop by here out of convenience, it’s pretty much at the entrance of my apartment. And I feel that the food here is not that good for the price I paid for. The portions is okay but the price makes me sad. They can confuse your order from time to time, so be aware. The fried rice and meat quality is mediocre at best. I definitely feel that since they’re open late and close to my apartment are the only reasons why I would stop by here. There’s not many other Chinese food that’s around so this is one of the few options. There’s definitely better Chinese food elsewhere but not many in the West Village. Better yet, don’t even look for Chinese food in the West Village. It’s a dry desert. Go out to Greenwich Village or Chinatown for better food.

Flavorless crap. These other reviews must be fake or the authors were high when writing them. What a waste of $ 20.

The General Tso’s Chicken* here is definitely better than at King’s Wok. *General Tso’s Chicken is not good for you. But the next time I called they’d run out of Chow Fun, and told me they’d give me a discount, but didn’t upon delivery. So, back to King’s Wok.

The Good — Basic Chinese food — pretty mild — almost bland but that doesn’t bother me. Free can of soda(so tell them what you want on the free soda or they send whatever they grab — they won’t ask you) And Cheap Cheap Cheap. Did I say Cheap? The Bad — Took an hour and was cold. I have ordered before and it came faster so I don’t know what happened tonight. Also what does a girl have to do to get plain white rice? Last time i came with fried rice which in most places would be a plus but theirs has absolutely no flavor and was greasy. This time I specifically ordered from a section on the menu that said White Rice on the side and they sent brown rice, I really dislike brown rice so that pretty much ruined my meal. I am sure I could have called and had the white rice sent over but since it already took an hour and was just barely warm I just ate the chicken no rice. I will probably give them another shot at one point but will spell out every detail and make him repeat it — and tell him why so he pays attention. You can’t beat the price but if you don’t enjoy the meal it’s a waste. I’d rather pay more and get what I order hot and accurate so they have one more chance. We’ll see.

Wow, what have I been missing! I passed by this place for years and avoided it because of the sometimes unsavory crowds outside. My friend referred me to this place, after hearing about it from a colleague. Better late than never for some of the best American Chinese food ever. I tried four items so far and three were amazing… Szechuan shrimp, shrimp lo mein and a Singpore Mei fun that is better than ANY I have eaten in any of the Chinatowns. The shrimp egg roll was good, not fabulous but still crispy and flavorful The food is less greasy actually other Chinese places and chock full of flavor. The chef knows how to cook. That noodle dish is now my sister’s fave. This little dive, with about 3 tables, is more a takeout joint than an eat in place. On a nice day, take it to the Hudson river park and enjoy. The workers here are really nice and the chef means business when he does spicy. The Singapore Mei Fun is spicy by the way, with chili paste stir fried in with the curry for those who enjoy a curry spiced noodle dish(made of superfine noodles that I haven’t seen in any other Chinese restaurant that does this dish.) Prices are cheap for the area. So come during the day or call in for delivery or just ignore the sometimes sketchy groups of teenagers that sometimes hang out around Christopher street and stop in They have never bothered me and the food is worth it. Oh, Unilocalers called this Christoper’s Golden Woks. The menu just says the name is Golden Woks for those who want to call in for delivery.

Quick and cheap Americanized Chinese food. I was here yesterday for a greasy snack to soak up some alcohol. I ordered 2 shrimp egg rolls. I asked for hot sauce. They gave me plenty of hot sauce when I asked.
