I go here almost every day for lunch, and have never been disappointed. The staff is always smiling and friendly, the ingredients are fresh and delicious, and they change-up the menu every so often to keep things interesting. I can’t imagine why the rating on Unilocal is so low(3.5 stars!) — it’s a great lunch option in midtown.

Chop’t is very popular around the office, especially as an option we order in for lunch. I have only been to the one location but do not see the hype. It is not bad, but also pricier than some of the other salad options. Salads(2⁄5): Mexican Caesar is my go-to, and is decent value at its price. All the ingredients are very fresh and go well together. However, once you get into the build your own salads route, this experience becomes less worth. — ~$ 11+ Experience(4⁄5): Pretty friendly staff, always very very busy. They do a great of chopping also… which is not always a guarantee at places. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — How food scoring works(very subjective, and relative to price) 1 — Given the price, no 3 — Worth, taste is on par with price 5 — An absolute steal, amazing taste and great value

I know there aren’t a ton of great options in midtown, but for the prices here vs the quality and quantity of food you receive, your money is better spent elsewhere(Café Olympia, Treehouse, etc). The last two salads I have picked up have been missing ingredients — and these were signature salads. They also really skimp on any ingredient besides the greens. I always end up with a giant bowl of lettuce. That being said, I generally do a pick-up order. Maybe there’s more accountability if you’re watching them prepare it in front of you.

I know that salad is like the staple lunch — it’s healthy, customizable, and usually pretty filling. Chop’t is like the king of salad places, because usually this place is packed. I’ve visited another location(and by visited I mean briefly walked past the Bryant Park location on a busy summer’s day and totally turned back) and I think all locations are like this. Luckily, I came during a week that most people were on vacation and I got to salad chopping almost immediately. They have different stations and you line up and once you get up front, you are sent to a certain station. I’m not good with picking my own toppings so I had the Cobb salad. They put the toppings for you(you can choose your own greens!) and then you go to a station where they chop it up and add dressing. I’m a fan of chopping my salad, I know that some people aren’t, but that way it’s easier for me to eat instead of having to stuff a huge piece of spinach into my mouth. Plus, more even spreading of toppings instead of having it fall to the bottom as it usually does when I get pre-packaged salads. It was about $ 11-$ 12, which is pretty expensive if you’re trying to keep lunch under $ 10. If you download the LevelUp app, you get $ 3 in cred your first time and $ 10 or something like that everytime you spend $ 100. Really good idea if you live for salads. Salads without meat cost less as chicken is typically a $ 3 add-on.

My relationship with this particular location can be best described by The Overtones: Set me free, why don’t you, babe? Get out my life, why don’t you, babe? ‘Cause you don’t really love me You just keep me hanging on. The salads are always a decent quality & the establishment is clean, but I’m a frequent flier here and there’s always SOMETHING wrong with my order from GrubHub. Added ingredients forgotten, forgetting to throw a Kind bar into the bag, forgetting to start the order altogether… That being said, I think I could eat the Mexicali Vegan everyday of my life. Hence the relationship parallel. So, in short: I recommend in-person ordering if you can. For the rest of us who are glued to our desks, double-check your order before you walk out the door.

Was told if I ordered again I would be satisfied. Just had the rudest cashier answer my telephone because I called to say I got a salad with wilted dying lettuce, at a strictly salad place that should not happen she was screaming at me accusing me of lying when I told her she can come pick it up full I’m nauseous trying to put a fork through it. I asked her name she told me it was Maria. I later find out she lied about her name. It’s actually matty or what not. I could have been lied to a second time. It’s so unfortunate about this place. The one by my house on upper east side never have a single problem or attitude that these guys continue to hand out.

Having been to their 56 street location, I decided to give a try on their another location in midtown and ordered my favorite palm beach salad(with chicken instead of shrimp). This time, I went with the 5 flavor Asian dressing. Both food quality and service were consistent across the two places and I got my salad within minutes. I also liked that they put menus in front(with both classic and seasonal salad menu) so that I could get prepared. My go-to salad spot now at work.

Few things why this is only 1 star– 1) Delivery service is sooooo bad! Delivery time is NOT30 – 45 minutes but 1.50 Hours! 2) Its overpriced. 3) They do not put all the ingredients as specified. I’ve ordered Spicy Korean Salad — my salad is missing PITA& Scallion. 4) I paid extra for grape tomato, I probably only got THREE pieces of tomatoes.

Was looking for healthier options to eat in NYC. Chopt’d to mind and here I am. I got here at 11:45 am on a Wednesday. There was only 2 people in front of me. There were so many options that I had to let people go in front of me first while I decided. The staff at this location was friendly and gave generous portions. They asked if the chopping was okay. And even if there was enough salad dressing. The salad itself was better and tasted fresher than most places. I would definitely come back As soon as I sat down. That lunch rush started. Lines were out the door haha. But I suppose that’s everywhere in NYC

I love being creative with building my own salad. Seeing a line out the door, why not try it? Their concept works well to have top ingredients complement one another. I waited in line for about 10 minutes before stepping up to place my salad order. The salad person put way too much dressing in my salad, that it overwhelmed it. The bread that was given isn’t very good. I’d kept thinking how Cosi has a great bread. This place was a let down and I won’t be coming back. Prices are a bit high for the quality of salad you’re getting.

I’m always a fan of build-your-own salads, and Chop’t didn’t disappoint! I got the 7 Summits bowl(roasted squash, red onion, quinoa/lentil/millet, cheese and kale) with Dijon vinaigrette on top and it was so good! All of the ingredients were fresh and worked well with each other. I was so full for the rest of the day after my lunch here. However, I wasn’t a fan of their pita… It was a little dry and flavorless, even for pita. Beware, the place is super packed during peak lunch hours, but don’t be discouraged because the lines move really quickly! It’s definitely a place for a grab&go salad, but it’ll be worth it!

I frequently pass by and always wondered to myself why so many people stand on a line that stretches well outside the door for a salad? So, I opted to join the long line and find out for myself… After eating the salad, I’m still perplexed as to why. As I’m on the line which moves at a decent pace, but still I was too long for my taste. As I got closer, i began to glance over the menu and as I did, I was immediately told to flow the employee and he would guide me to the lady who would help me choose my salad. As this was my first visit, I was clueless about the procedure. I went with the creative salad which is a choice of lettuce and the option for four toppings.(.59 cents for extras). After making my selections, the next step is the guys who mash and put your dressing… here is when things went awry. I asked for French, he misunderstood, he put ranch, as I put my head down for a quick sec, I freaked and said NO… I said French. They didn’t have or Russian; so I went with lemon. Overall, I will probably just stick with Just Salad which is a few blocks over. This place isn’t worth the long wait and small pickings when it comes to variety and the cost.

Tip: Lunch time this place gets pretty packed. The staff are on top of that like white on rice, give menus while you’re waiting so you won’t wait for too long. That being said, if you’re looking for a place to sit and eat, or have a casual meeting over lunch you mind find getting a table challenging. Friggin’ love chop’t salads. Perfect for a quick, gotta go lunch where you want fresh food and to watch your cals. Highly recommend the destination salads. The Po Boy salad is also perfect. you’re looking at like 7 – 12 $ for a salad, which is pretty standard for the area. This location is awesome as well — the workers behind the counter were super fast, nice and knowledgable. Only reason for the 4⁄5 stars is the lack of seating — Will definite be back again — super boom!

Expensive… good…expensive but good. Even though this particular location seems to pack their salads on the light side. Other than that the same to be expected as the rest of the franchise locations and décor.

Mmmm. I mean. It’s just salad. Pros: fresh ingredients(also a must), good variety, Mexicali is my favorite, healthy! Cons: loooong line at lunch time. Nothing special. Grab n go only(a couple seats but too many people).

Prices went up. Peace out Chop’t! I refuse to pay $ 14 for a salad that was once $ 12(and still already overpriced).

The Quick: Overpriced salads, nothing exciting. The Details: With everyone trying to be healthy and get their beach bodies on, the obvious lunch choice is a salad. This spot is quick and convenient for lunch, but nothing special. It’s a chain salad spot that will have you in and out with polite service but will not impress you with creative salad choices or homemade dressings. The Damage: Last time I think I spent $ 10 and change for a mediocre salad. There are just better options, even when trying to be healthy.
