Chicken was okay, but the fries were very very very soggy and drenched in oil. The Mac and Cheese was so so bland, and I honestly should have known better than to order it. If I do eat from this place again, I’ll probably only get the chicken tenders. Disappointed

Disappointed based on how high the reviews are for this place. The lady recommended I get the gyro, which I did. Probably should have ordered something else.

This place is my go to for burgers when I don’t want to wait in the long shake shack line. I always go for the cheeseburger deluxe, it’s a nice portion for a burger and comes with a side of fries. They have a lot of options on their menu and it’s nice to have a big variety. I usually order lunch from here and delivery is always very fast!

Popped in here for a quick meal. The place gets pretty busy, but service is pretty quick. Half Chicken Meal($ 12.50) with salad, pita bread, macaroni & cheese The chicken was dry, but grilled chicken tends to be dry. The flavor was alright. The sides come in small plastic cups. The salad is basically lettuce & tomatoes in a little dressing. The macaroni & cheese tastes like the instant kind. It also came with a small cup of salsa, which looked like mushy tomato juice. Arroz con Pollo($ 9): This tasted a little better than the grilled chicken. It was still dry, but with the rice & beans, it was more of a complete meal. Everything felt like a fast food chicken restaurant. The prices aren’t too bad. The service was decent. Someone came and cleared our tray when we finished. Not bad.

The main issue with late night grub is it always makes you feel gross. Chirping Chicken is the counter to that axiom. Come here for late late fast food(and salads) — it’s not inundated with drunk and boisterous young adults, unsurprising given their location. They serve quality chicken however the fries are a little lackluster, but at least you can tell they are fresh cut. The guy at the counter always gives me a nod when I walk in to make me feel like a regular. Or maybe it’s because the UWSiders I always walk in with are regulars.

It’s fantastic chicken. It’s fast. Fresh. Delicious. And reasonably priced. The whole chicken, the Greek salad, some pita bread. Some fries. A drink. And you’ve got yourself a really yummy meal for four for under $ 30. It’s a winner. And the staff are great too.

Got as a to-go lunch. The large grilled BBQ wings were juicy, a little messy, and had great flavor. We found the ribs, though, a little underwhelming — not as scrumptious and the sauce not as interesting. The ribs also came with pita, which seemed kind of random(no other sides). I appreciate the speed and simplicity.

Chirping chicken is one of my favorite fast food places in the city. It is a little more expensive than an average fast food place but the quality of their food justifies that to me. I am so glad that I found this place. This is an absolutely great place to get a quick meal from. I have tried the steak meal, chicken souvlaki, the gyro sandwich, and the grilled chicken meals and have loved each and everyone of them. The meals come with a salad some rice or with pita and a side and in generous quantities. I highly recommend them to anyone on the UWS looking for a quick bite.

What a great find! If I lived in the upper west side, this place would be a staple. I find it a little odd that its categorized as «American(traditional)» — it’s more like Peruvian/Greek chicken. We ordered a whole chicken, small side salad and mashed sweet potatoes. All quick and delicious! Will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

If you live in the Upper West Side and haven’t ordered from this place for takeout, you are missing out! Chirping Chicken has both healthy and indulgent options that can satisfy any night in. I ordered the ¼ chicken plate with a side of mac and cheese. While the mac and cheese was not that great, the chicken was flavorful and the side salad(greens, tomatoes, cucumbers) was a lovely complement to the meal. My friend ordered chicken fingers and fries which were very standard and delicious. I also want to comment on the speediness of the delivery – the email notification said it’d take about 45 minutes but it arrived in 20 minutes!

3.5 stars really. Service is really good but food is mediocre. I got the grilled chicken strips meal with mixed veg on the side and whole wheat pita. The pita was the blackest pita I’ve ever seen. I think they used 100% whole wheat flour in this one. It’s exactly what healthy tastes like, which is tough and bitter, and the bread doesn’t rise properly because of the bran. At the same time I was craving some hummus to dip in. The grilled chicken was nicely charred but I’m not a fan of the sauce that came with. Mixed veg on the side is just steamed carrots + broccoli + beans + corn. I ate it with leftover salad dressing just to add some flavor. Service was really nice though. I placed a pick-up order on Eat24 right when I stepped into the door and my food was ready in about 15 minutes.

I will admit that I was skeptical to try this spot. By the name and looking in from the outside, I had no interest. The person I was out with said he’s a big fan and to give it a shot. With that said, I went in and was pleasantly surprised. It had more of a Greek feel than a KFC. There were so many items on the menu I wanted to try! The place looked clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter. It came with a refreshing Greek salad, pita, a lot of grilled chicken, tasty rice and creamy tzatziki sauce. The chicken was flavorful, all white meat and cooked just right. The salad had a huge chunk of feta cheese, big green pepper and all the other necessary Greek salad ingredients. The person I was eating with had chicken nuggets and French fries. The honey mustard was delicious to dip it all in. His chicken was all quality white meat too. There is no table service. It seems like a healthier, flavorful option for the Upper West Side.

Normally when I order from here(once a week for work) it’s fine. Tonight I ordered later than usual. After an hour I called the restaurant to check the status of my order and the guy who answered the phone was so rude and rushed. He answered by saying«chirping chicken. Hold on». And immediately put me on hold. Then when he got back simply said«order number.» I couldn’t understand him because of how fast he was taking so I said«sorry?» And he loudly said«ORDER. NUMBER». I gave it to him. And he said«it’s on its way». I said«ok! thank y-«. And he briskly hung up on me. Still haven’t gotten my food. Called about 20 minutes ago. Wish I could just cancel the order.

Came in here for an economical dinner in the Upper West Side. This is primarily a take out place with a lot of call in orders, but there are also tables for about 30 people. I ate at the restaurant. It was extremely crowded on a Saturday evening and I had a little trouble getting a seat, but a couple left a few minutes after I came in and I snagged their seat at a table where others were sitting. Don’t come here if you want privacy. I ordered a quarter chicken meal, which is a quarter of dark meat chicken, a drumstick and thigh, a small salad, pita bread, and one side. The selection for sides was pretty large, and I selected a baked sweet potato. The sweet potato was a mistake. While it was huge, it wasn’t really too tasty since it came in foil and tasted like it had been heating for a long time. It didn’t have a fresh baked taste. That’s probably to be expected for a fast casual place like this. The chicken was moist and flavorful, but I thought even by New York standards it wasn’t much for $ 9.25. The salad was nothing to speak of, just some lettuce and greens with a very light oil and vinegar dressing. I might have been happier if I spent a little more and got something that came with white meat and had more meat, and also chose something other than a sweet potato.

The chicken merits more than 2 stars, but that was the only quality part of my meal. The delivery guy read my address wrong and went to the building next door, then proceeds to use my neighbors phone to call me(apparently he «forgot» his phone) and yell at me for being lost. Don’t really see how its my fault that you couldn’t figure out my address. The actual food was meh. Their mac and cheese is AWFUL, I had one bite and threw the rest away. The cheese legitimately tastes like plastic. The salad is all iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, not too great either. The chicken is good, I will give them that. If I was reviewing this place solely based on the chicken I’d probably give 4 *s instead.

When I made my move to New York, my parents came along to help with the process and to visit the city for the first time. After a long day of site seeing and walking across town from Rockefeller Plaza to the UWS, they wanted sometime quickly, casual, and near their hotel for dinner. We ended here thanks to my mom’s then new-found Unilocaling abilities. I ordered a Gyro Sandwich, my mom got a Lamb Sausage Plate, and my dad got a Chicken Strip Meal. My sandwich was filled will tender slices of meat, it had a good-tasting sauce, it was fresh & hot, but it had too much raw red onions. The lamb sausage had g great flavor but the rice was not very good. The side salad was delicious but I wish the feta was crumbled rather than in slices. The chicken strips were not dry & not oily; it also came with lots of streamed veggies, which I brought home for later. This is definitely a no frills place & it can get really hectic when there is a rush; but it’s a decent place for a casual meal. Now if only they’ll deliver all the way up to Washington Heights.

Busy busy busy place for lunch. I could hear the phone ringing of the hook!!! Haven’t eaten here in a Long time. If I’m not mistaken, there was one in queens. They have so many options on the menu I had a hard time deciding what to get. Of course I went with the chicken. ¼ chicken with salad pita bread and a side of your choice for under 11 $(I had a huge sweet potato). That’s a great price for being in the city and I got a huge plate. Chicken was tasty & well seasoned.
