I literally just watched an employee put on gloves(good, I thought!) walk over to where the rice was cooking, grab a shovel sized scoop, and hold the scoop while she reached her hand into it and picked up rice and put it in her mouth. She stood in the back in full view of everyone just shoving rice in her mouth and looking out at the customers. I stared at her while I waited in line, and finally felt sick to my stomach and left. NB: this is AFTER they closed all the stores for training for food-borne illnesses.

If you know me well, you’ll know that I am thee Chipotle ADVOCATE. This location, however, just doesn’t match up to par. Yes, it is situated in a busy location so I didn’t mind the line, especially during lunch hour… but being busy should not be an excuse for them to have COLDPROTEIN. This was the first of my many, many, many Chipotle visits that my steak was not warm, but cold. Do they not periodically check the temperature? My burrito bowl was inedible– not even a quarter of the way through the burrito bowl, I threw it out. Walk a few blocks to another location because this is unacceptable and not worth the wait.

No tomato/mild, no lemon aid or Sprite, no napkins, no medium cup lids. This was a disappointing visit.

I got the worst food poisoning in my life from this place on 2÷9÷2016. I threw up for hours in the night and will most likely miss 2 days of work. Do not go here. It’s not a clean restaurant.

Great alternative to Junk food or expensive restaurants on 5th Avenue– We happened to bump into this Chipotle on 5th Avenue after having a couple of beers at the Heartland Brewery next door. It is located in the same block as the Empire State Building. We visited on two separate days around lunch and both times the lines were long(15 – 20 mins wait). I found the prices to be around 10−20% more, possibly because of higher taxes and fees in NYC. The quality of food was as expected. Beer is available too but a bit pricey. Overall, a good place for budget conscious folks.

Most employees doesn’t seem very pleasant and just are rude. Not sure if they are trained to yell at customers when they take orders because this is what they do every time. Also when you order a chicken bowl, portions are extremely small and they refuse to add more ingredients without charging you for extra.

It’s a Chipotle. In the Empire State Building. The bathroom code is on your receipt so don’t crumple that up! I’ve always thought the line moves quickly here and I like this location often pilots new offerings and ingredients from Chipotle. There is limited seating but most people are just here to grab a quick bite and tables turn over quickly. Consistent with other Chipotle locations and bonus — open pretty late.

This Herald Square Chipotle was off its game last night when I swung by for a quick Saturday night dinner. It had probably the slowest service I’ve ever had at the chain — there were three people in front of me on line and it took me 10 minutes to make it to the register.(Typically when I would go to a Chipotle the staff is crazy efficient to the point where they’ve perfected the art of the sour cream quick-scoop.) The three tables to the left of me were all messy by the time I sat down, but eventually one employee took a quick break from the register to tend to them. And for the first time I can recall at any Chipotle location, the chicken and to a lesser extent the brown rice were overcooked. Come on guys, you can do better! I’ve been to this establishment in the past, and the food issue was never a factor. The one silver lining — my burrito bowl had the biggest amount of add-ons I’ve ever gotten at the chain, so that helped offset everything.

I’m going give 1 star for this location. #1. Customer service — very rude, unprofessional and not pleasant ppl. #2. Cleanliness — tissues were everywhere. Tables were dusty. I’m not sure if they hired cleaning person before open this place. #3. Amount of my order wasn’t the same like other places. Very small. I don’t think I’ll be back and recommend this location for others.

Food is on point. Service and portion not. Came at a okay time(6:15pm) so there was a line of 20+ people when I arrived. However this shouldn’t prevent me from getting a regular portion. I asked for rice, chicken, lettuce and salsa. My bowl did not even make it to the rim. That’s right — I didn’t even get enough ingredients to fill half my bowl. The employees are obviously biased. The person behind me was getting served by employee A but when employee B saw the amount A gave, she said«how come you gave so little!» Meanwhile I’m looking at my bowl and it’s the same portion as the person behind me. Unacceptable. From now on I’ll visit ktown to get Korean food rather than chipotle.

The first time I came here with my friend, it was CROWDED. The line was already at the door; so we left. The second time around we came and we hit the place before lunch time.(thankfully) They didn’t have brown rice which sucked, and I got what I usually got, the chicken bowl. The place overall but pretty clean but you can’t expect anything more in the city! Love to come again!

Your usual Chipotle, filled with people, same food but with efficient workers. Unlike other places, their steak is actually pretty juicy and their chicken is not burnt. Their proportions are also very nice. I wouldn’t exactly call their tables clean… but that’s not entirely their fault. They also tend to stay open past their closing time.

I usually don’t get Chipotle I am more of a Qdoba kind of girl. However, this Chipotle is in my building so last week I was starving st lunch and decided to get this. The lines are always SUPER long but after my meal I realists it’s worth the wait. I got a chicken burrito howl with various additions, it was so DELICIOUS!!! The service took a while but was prompt once I got to the counter, the prices are expensive but it is NYC, they don’t offer canned or bottled sodas only the fountain which is a bit upsetting because I don’t drink from fountains. They do however sell margaritas and beer which I m yet to try but stay tuned for another tip. I enjoyed the chicken burrito bowl I had, the rice was amazing everything tasted well cooked, fresh and we’ll prepared. There is a lot of seating offered but the place is so packed good luck actually finding a spot to eat in.

First off, let me say that I LOVE Chipotle! I just don’t like this one! I only ever get one thing… The Burrito Bowl, with Chicken, no beans, mild & hot salsa, cheese and lettuce. With that said, I need to know from the owner… do you penalize your employees for giving the appropriate amount of ingredients? I swear… I always get so freakin’ bent when I’m there. I had to stop asking for Guacamole in the bowl cause for the $ 2.30 extra they charge, they give you a thimbles amount! Drives me NUTS. So now, I get it on the side with a bag of chips… Now, when I ask for cheese, they give me like 7 and half shreds… if that! I ALWAYS have to ask for more cheese and lettuce. It’s like the person that is doling out the toppings are using their OWN private stash of ingredients… It’s comical and to be frank, PATHETIC! I had complained about this place to the Chipotle Customer Service site and got an email apologizing and that they would work with this franchise. I was even offered a card to have my next Burrito Bowl on them… Never got it! Still holding my breath for that one! As I said in my first sentence… I love Chipotle food… It’s just this one, in The Empire State Building, SUCKS! And after yesterdays, 7 and half shreds of cheese incident… I’ll NEVER go back.

By far the worst customer service experience dining at Chipotle ever. I love Chipotle & have waited in some serious lines with a smile on my face. Tonight(a rainy Sunday at 6pm) I came in to this Chipotle, there was no line my boyfriend & I though Yesssss. Unfortunately, the staff thought it was more important to good off with a fellow employee on his lunch break. They wasted time saying he needed to get in line behind us then all the way to the door & joking. Then they moved us along the assembly line… only to be cut off by their fellow employee at the cashier. Whatever I get it but then the cashier, this guy on his break & the girl bagging chips start having a conversation. They’re laughing. The cashier tries to pay attention to me but the conversation & then they guys booty shaking is just too important. I had to ask for a tray she was just gonna scoot my things towards me w/o looking at me. Then the guy takes off his plastic work gloves & tossed them onto the paper bags next to my bowl. If those gloves would have touched my bowl I Would have lost it. End of story 2 stars for a rude staff & killing my chipotle vibe. Take yours to go

This Chipotle is located on the north east side of the Empire State Building next to Heartland Brewery. There is only one entrance and one exit from outside– cannot enter Chipotle from inside the Empire State Building. Chipotle, the infamous chain of Mexican burritos, tacos, and salads the size of my feet, never fails to disappoint, but the line does in this Chipotle in particular. During lunch time it is flooded with tourists and the wait is around 5 minutes. The employees are diligent and pass orders down the assembly line as fast as they can. Note both times I’ve been here they skimped out on rice so I asked for extra rice which is no charge. The taste is indifferent from any other Chipotle and I will find myself here again for a quick lunch most likely not during lunch time to avoid the rush.
