This is a review only about the juices… Everytime I’ve come in, I get a delicious & refreshing juice. However, on one occasion I did receive a half-filled plastic cup w a lot of foam on top(un-drinkable) the only reason I didn’t say anything was because I left in a hurry & when I looked at my cup I was kinda far(I walk really fast lol)… Other than that, I’m a happy camper :)

I love falafel. Unfortunately, over the past few years, I’ve come to discover that not all falafels are created equal, especially when it comes to falafel from some of these chain stores around the city. But still, I was hungry and had never tried Chickpea before so, with poor judgement, decided I’d give it a shot just to see how it was. The food was awful. I ordered a falafel platter, which came with what I assume was supposed to be couscous. It was bland and dry, like it had been sitting there all day(it probably had been). And the side of grape leaves I ordered were probably the soggiest and grossest I’d ever had(stuff that comes in cans is better than this). An added bonus: the food gave me «stomach problems» for about two days straight. Thanks, Chickpea!

I was excited to find Chickpea in Union Sq. Well, that’s it. The service was fine and so was the food. The falafel was too bland for my taste. I was expecting a lot more flavor. It was great that they have a salad bar, you can pick and choose and get something new each time. Honestly I wouldn’t go back for the falafel, you’re better of trying the chicken shawarma. The hummus was just okay. It was actually a bit on the salty side. Just because the food is healthy doesn’t mean it should be bland, just saying.

If your looking for super tasty fried food and thick shakes and a over the top full bloated feeling then you walked into the wrong place. If however your looking to live a little healthier with a satisfied feeling and NOT weighted down, tired or sweeting from a heavy meal, then why not stop here? I’ve been coming here for a few months now, and will say the owners and workers are real friendly, the place is clean and the food is fresh, Grilled Mediterranean Chicken is my favorite, on a whole wheat wrap(spinach wrap available) — the falafel is good as well and 3 to chose from and different hummus to try, their even generous on the toppings. the Coffee is usually real good althou it was a miss other than a hit sometimes and their large coffee is 2 bucks, so that seems a bit over priced, especially with Dunkin Donuts and Mcdonalds around the corner All in all I am a fan. I couldn’t go with 3 ½ stars so I rated it a 4… IMO it leaned more towards a four than three. I mean if health good baked and tasty is your motive then this is a good smart move to make. they even have Pocket Cards that they stamp so if you buy 6 you get the 7th one free, which is a cute gesture for regulars like me.

I’m usually a fan of chickpea because it’s a relatively healthy option, but this one was just… sucky. Pro: — Three different options of falafel(I got their spinach and broccoli one!) Cons: — The place smells kind of weird… like chlorine or something — I was so pumped about their baked fries, but they aren’t actually baked! They fry them before and then bake them for a few minutes before they serve it to you… It’s terrible! So much for being healthy! — I got the hummus plate and it was just too much hummus for me… i never waste food, but I threw half of it out… Just don’t get their«baked» fries… sigh…so disappointed! I will probably look elsewhere for a healthy meal going forward.

This is exactly what you might think of when you think of «health food”– very fresh, very expensive, and very bland. I got the whole wheat pita sandwich with regular falafel and added eggplant. There was exactly no flavor, and the eggplant tasted sour. Staff was nice, though. Was disappointed with the food and won’t go back.

This used to be my favorite red mango location until Chickpea took over. Not only is it overpriced, but it tasted really watered down. Was so disappointed. Will never be going back there again. Go to pinkberry that’s across the street diagonally.

Truly superb customer service! My first ever Chickpea visit was at this location and they were very patient in explaining their process and offerings. Granted, I came in a bit before the lunch rush, but they were all super friendly and didn’t rush me as I made my decisions for my platter. Very satisfied with the food as I got a mix of familiar and unfamiliar items, which I’m happy they recommended. Love that it’s right there when you get out of the subway station and everything tasted so fresh and yummy!

Went there today expecting something cheap, decent, and not too expensive. What happened instead is I got a mouth full of rotten roasted red pepper! The pepper was fermented and was fizzy, which is not supposed to happen! I asked for a refund, which I got and ate elsewhere. Plus, I asked for rice several times on my schawarma and falafel plate, and got bulgar wheat instead. So, I didn’t get what I ordered in the first place, decided to not make a big deal, and ended up eating food long past its due date instead!

After working a double shift I was looking forward to an egg, ham and cheese sandwich. Menu said eggs any style. I asked the cook for a fried egg and the cook said«no» straight up… only scrambled… Did I hear right? He took the eggs and scrambled them. Sorry I asked for too much. There were only Two people ahead of me paying their order and no one was waiting behind me. After a long day and an overnight shift all I wanted was fried eggs wih ham and cheese. I had ordered fried eggs once a while back and had no problems. Since I was exhausted and starving, I accepted but was very disappointed. I hope the rest of my day is better.

This is my second time being to this location. It is a large and spacious café, but has limited seating. There are three establishments here: Chickpea, Red Mango frozen yogurt and Squeeze juice and smoothie bar. This particular review is about Squeeze. After the weekend I had, I was in serious need of a detox. Since the regular juice food truck was not on duty, I traveled from Union Sq. to here. I had kept a menu from my previous visit, and was eager to try their juice cleanse. Now, going by the menu AND the prices listed, its $ 5.49 for a reg. and $ 6.49 for a large. So, I ordered a regular. Before I made my purchase, I also asked if they offered a student discount(there’s no sign posted, and they won’t tell you unless you ask). 10% was taken off and my order came to $ 6.36. I’m looking at the price thinking«what the #@$&?!» Apparently they have THREE sizes, not two, and I had ordered the medium. They, again, don’t tell you this unless you ask! I later complained to the manager who looked at me like I was retarded, but he himself can’t do simple math. He later apologized for the confusion and said that they would update the prices. I don’t buy it, and won’t be coming back here.

New location right outside of the train! Great falafel sandwiches, delicious choice of toppings like corn, onion, cucumbers, tomato, black or red beans… I’m excited I just bumped into this place. Needed a quick bite before a holiday party. And an FTR besides!

This RM within a Chickpea is part of a new trend to pair with other businesses and maintain less of their own brand by not accepting Red Mango cards and kinda fading into the background. Product is the same, fortunately, but they’re spreading themselves too thin.
