I threw my boyfriend a surprise Bday here for a group of 12 people The restaurant went above and beyond to ensure the night was special. They decorated the table with rose petals and candles. They gave us a great group menu that included their best dishes and more than enough food for a great price. And of course the belly dancers were an amazing touch to make the night more fun than just dinner. Highly recommend for groups, special occasions or just a some good mediterranean food.

Delicious food — Check; Outstanding Services — Check; Ambiance — CHECK!; Belly Dancer — Check; Prompt Service — Check Immediately upon arrival I recognized the venue that hosted NYE festivities a few years ago… not sure why I didn’t place it when reserving but whatever. There were parties of all sizes and the place boasts energy. We were only 2 in our party and did the pre-fixe menu(do the octopus starter) and even though our evening plans were on a tight schedule to no fault of their own, they accommodated us and our schedule. The belly dancer was awesome and added to the experience for the diverse guests(including multiple bachelorette parties). Other than the inebriated dude behind me that had no sense of etiquette or space(not the venue’s fault), it was a perfect dinner spot.

For a fun evening this is a great place to be. Upon arrival you’re politely ushered to the bar area. Strategic placement of course. Once seated the ambiance is perfect with good music in the background. We ordered the 4 Course dinner. 1st course freshly baked Pita(3pics) with 3 hearty and healthy bowls of Babaganoush Humus Fava Beans Purée.

I came here for my moms birthday since she likes belly dancing. The food is way over priced for the quality and amount!!! That’s my first complaint. The drinks were not great, and the place is decorated in a very tacky way. There was a huge big screen tv over the bar which was weird since there was a belly dancer plus its suppose to be ‘classy”. I use that word with a large dose of humor. They where trying to create a palace but they ended up with a McMansion. One positive thing, the staff was nice.

Great for vegans. Did the prix fixe and had veg options in each course. We took foreeeever to order because we kept talking and they weren’t pushy or aggravated(and I wouldn’t blame them if they had been). However, each new busser/server kept saying hello to my date and saying that they recognized him from a previous week. He kept denying that he was there within the last two years and said it must have been someone else hmmm… either way: DONOTBRING A MISTRESSHEREANDYOURWIFETOOBCTHEYWILLREMEMBER. Lol. One server said welcome back to me and I’d never been there before so either my date had a type or they were completely bullshitting. If you’re a cheater just dont take that chance. Servers and bussers were so sweet. Bartender was phenomenal. Martinis were great although the makers mark manhattans could have been stronger. Hated their signature cocktails but if you like slightly fruitier drinks you’ll like them. Just not my taste. Belly dancer was whack. We thought it would be authentic but she was some hoochie looking chick from Jersey who basically stayed in one section the whole night and didn’t reeally make her way through the restaurant. Food was 3.5 out of 5. Babaghanoush was ok but the fava(?) bean mash and hummus apps on prix fixe were great. Wish they had vegan desserts but they didn’t and by then I was to stuffed and buzzed to care. Ps– came here on a Thurs evening at 6:30…left at 12am. Don’t judge us.

The food is average at best and the service is bad. Small wine list and not very good choices. The waiter removed appetizers before they were finished. It had a very amateur feeling. The fresh pita bread was very good though. But not worth going just for that.

Came here on March 26 as part of a group of 7 people. The manager was extremely accommodating considering our group was an hour late. My first complaint which isn’t a big deal is that they pushed 2 tables together to accommodate our group but they were two different tables that were not the same height so that was a little odd. The food was really tasty. Nothing was spicy though. We had a Groupon for a 4 course pre-fixed meal which was really only 2 courses. The first course was warm pita bread with 3 different dipping sauces. That should have just been a given. Most places have some form of bread on the table while you wait for your meal. That shouldn’t have been considered«a course.» For my second course I had the Crabmeat Kofta(lump crabmeat, shrimp, leeks and scallions). You taste more shrimp than crab. Tasty either way. Third course I had the Grilled Whole Fish of the day(Branzino). Very tasty and meaty. Nothing else was on the plate. Just the fish. Honestly would it have killed them to put a tiny portion of starch and/or vegetable on the plate? I didn’t stay for dessert but I heard it was 3 little mini«something’s» that should not have been considered a course. The belly dancer was awesome! On Saturday nights the belly dancer performs at 7:30 and then again at 9:30. I would say her performance is about 30 minutes long. She really engages with the crowd. She moves through the room and invites diners to get up and dance with her by their table. Everyone is into it. The overall décor of this place is very romantic. Love the bathrooms. I would bring the hubby here if we were in the neighborhood. One last negative is that the courses took too long in between one another. The service should have been a lot quicker.

Food is pretty good but service really sucked. We waited over an hour(!) for the main courses. Dishes were not cleared off the table, the hookah never came. The staff never sincerely apologized, their approach was something like«yeah, we’re busy today…». Really? Any decent establishment would at least make you feel like they care. They just didn’t.

Great great evening! Place is gorgeous decorated to the highest extent. Staff very nice very accommodating. Luis the manager very personable and evidently a very dedicated hard worker. Belly dancer magnificent and friendly to customers. Music outstanding which set the tone and custom precisely. Food fresh hot and tasty! Drinks delectable! My husband enjoyed it… Something different! Will return with larger group of people!

Food was great and the staff were really attentive, Luis was an exceptional manager after our meal he brought us champagne. We got the pre-fix meal on groupon and we had the crab cakes and filet salmon with couscous #delicioso #yumyum A bit pricey but everything else was great!

Prix fixe: «a meal consisting of several courses served at a total fixed price». Well, they call it that here, but although you get great appetizers and a nice little dessert for $ 60, you have to(depending what you order) pay an extra $ 7 for rice and $ 7 for vegetables or you may just end up with a lonely fish on your plate. Only in New York would you be treated this way. The waiter made lots of recommendations but it was pretty obvious he was just trying to up-sell. They’ve invested a lot in décor, the dancer was great(just comes out once so don’t miss it), and the food and service was pretty good. The ambience is excellent until the dancing ends and they turn the place into a generic techno lounge. I’d happily do without the luxurious individual bathrooms with chairs if I could get a few grains of rice with my dinner.

This place really needs to work on their service! complete nightmare. Our waiter was helpful at first but once the drink order and pre fix items were in he was never to be heard of again. The food is good, portions on the smaller side. They gave us a real shitty corner table and wasn’t able to see any of the belly dancers. wouldn’t recommend coming here for the prefix or on a weekend.

This place was great! I came here over the weekend for the Egyptian bellydancing dinner from Groupon. It was a little empty when I first came in(around 6pm) but by 7pm, it was pretty crowded. For some reason, they weren’t serving cocktails that night and only wine which was fine so my friend and I opted for a bottle. The service was very professional. They all knew what they were doing and I believe the manager, Luis(?) even stopped by a few times to make sure everything was going smoothly. We had the 4 course dinner and got the: — mezza(soo good! We were a huge fan of the fava bean dip) — crab cake(this was a little disappointing. Definitely a lot of crab flavor but nothing else really) — sausage slider(my friend thought this was really good but it was so small — it wasn’t called a slider but looked like a slider so I’m calling it a slider) — we both got the lamb chops. SOGOOD. The meat was tender and the rice was cooked in a lot of garlic and possibly pork fat and skin because there were these chunks of that in the rice and it was SOGOOD. I’m pretty sure my friend and I polished off the rice within a few minutes. — the chef’s selection for the dessert. I wasn’t terribly impressed with this. My friend definitely wants to go back again at some point but I’m not sure if the $ 60/person for the 4 course meal is worth it. The Groupon was definitely worth it for me though. Maybe I’ll go a la carte next time. The bellydancing was interesting as well. It wasn’t too long — probably 30 mins or so and she went around dancing with a few of the customers(my friend included lol)

Came here a second time. Our reservation was for 8pm. We got here at 8:20pm. I understand that we were late. They told us that they will get us the next available table. 80mins and no table later I am writing this 1 star review. You’ve let me down, Casa.

The décor is beautiful and the belly dancers(short show) is very entertaining. Although the waiters/bus boys seem to be very trained«by the book», they seemed to lack common sense(if that makes sense). I was with a party of lets say 10, pre fix menu. When it was time for the main coarse everyone received their dishes. The person that sat next to me was given his food, and began to eat it.(It was suppose to be a seafood dish, which it was). It was his first time eating at the restaurant. About 15 minutes later, as most of his food was eaten either the manager or the waiter approached him accusing him of eating someone elses dish. Okay? he did not know. In any case, this accusation was so rude, and I honestly was in shock. Although they gave the proper dish to the person which ordered it, the way they treated the person who accidently ate it was disgusting. Now the food: Dips –were okay. Chicken and rice– the chicken was bland, the rice was sour(from lemon juice?) I barely ate my food. It was not good in any way. I can get a much much better tsting meal 5 times cheaper in brooklyn. Thisfood did not have any middle eastern flavor whatsoever. Will not return.

This has been one of my worst experiences ever. I read many of the bad reviews regarding the terrible service they have and trust me, they were so accurate. This place is extremely bad in some many ways: 1) extremely slow and bad service 2) we were sited on a corner table next to the stairs that take you to the restroom. According to the hostess, the belly dancers were supposed to come to our area(never happened) 3) bad service again 4) music(aside from the one played during the show) is worst than the one played in an elevator from the 80’s. Seriously, consider using Pandora or Spotify but your music can really make you feel so depressed. 5) after we finished our dinner, we must have waited like 45 min to get«desserts» and coffee(Turkish coffee that supposedly takes 15 minutes to brew due to the highest quality) that was never brought to the table but included on the check. 6) desserts that my 5 year old daughter could bake way better, let’s just say that a cornbread mini muffin with orange sorbet on top is not exactly something appealing. 7) did I mention terrible slow service??? 8) after desserts, another waiting time of 45 – 50 minutes to get the check 9) check was incorrect, so let’s add another 30 minutes to finally get it… still incorrect!!! Are u fucking kidding me??? On top of that, the waiter just limited to apologize and mentioned that he was trying his best but they were short on staff. My bad for choosing a place that is not capable of offering good service to everybody that decides to spend money on their business. 10) forgot to mention that the show that we couldn’t see, lasted maybe 30 minutes. We spent 4 hrs and there was only 1 show with one woman. I was expecting something else to be honest. 11) we decided to asked for our coats as the waiter didn’t come back to our table with the correct check. Basically he found us at the main entrance with another incorrect check. 12) manager came but didn’t really offer any solution and we decided just to pay and leave. We went to this place because some friends got a Groupon. My best piece of advise, DON’T waste your money, time and energy on this place. It’s NOT worth it. Manhattan has some many awesome places to go and this is not certainly one of them. Terrible service!!!

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. This was my best kept secret last summer until I made the mistake of bringing friends! Haha but anyway, this is our go-to downtown spot. Depending on the time of year and day, the ambience varies. I’ve come in the middle of summer, stretched out on the grass floor(yes, GRASS floor), drank beers and watched soccer. Or, on a Friday or Saturday night we’ll get dressed up for girls night and have a fabulous meal and dessert. The décor is very feminine and Egyptian boho glam(with out being gaudy or tacky). The male to female ratio is about 1:2. Bathrooms are plentiful, single, spacious(clean AND pretty) rooms. Desserts are top notch and I have so many favorite foods I can’t list them all, but please get the crab cake!!! The best I’ve had in my life, and I’ve been almost everywhere. Basically, there are more enough good things I can say about this place. Oh, and also… Nicklas — our server last time, you deserve a medal!

A fun little haunt in the West Village. I always visit when I go to NYC. Great food. An even better atmosphere. I would go here for the décor alone. Get the two types of hummus. Well worth it. Wasn’t sure what to drink last time I was here.(I wasn’t feeling cocktails.) The bartender recommended a great rosé that I really enjoyed.
