Schwarma sandwich was average. Customer service was poor and disorganized. The same person kneading the dough for fresh bread was the same one to handle the cash register(wearing no gloves by the way). It took them 20 minutes to make my order — two schwarma sandwiches. When one sandwich was delivered to the register, I told the counter person I had ordered two. He insisted that I said one and when I corrected him, he rolled his eyes at me and slunked back to the grill, reluctant to make another one. It’s a bad sign when people on the ordering queue are talking to one another about how bad the service is. One couple became frustrated and left. The remaining people(including myself and my friend) stuck It out. $ 6 per half filled sandwich — quarter cup of chicken, a schmear of hummus and course chopped lettuce, tomato and cucumber. When I pulled the foil back, the sandwich had become soggy and the filling had leaked out. The taste was average at best. I hate writing reviews like this because I want small businesses to do well, but if the food and service are both mediocre, then I have no choice! Instead of Tut’s Hub, try ATM Falafel on 37th Street and Broadway. This hole in the wall is not Egyptian focused but their falafel and schwarma sandwiches are delicious; bursting with meat and veggies, and — you get service with a smile.

We were walking on Steinway Street in Astoria and were delighted to discover this amazing treasure, Tut’s Hub! The Egyptian décor is unlike any other restaurant establishment in Astoria Queens. However, the aroma of fresh mediteranean cuisine pulled us in and we explored all the different dishes to try out! Delicious and freshly made feteer! Hearty lentil soup! Delicious dips! Freshly made breads! All perfect for lunch or dinner! The entire service staff is warm and friendly… All worthy of letting the owner he knows how to pick good people:) As a bonus, If you want to feel like a true egyptian king you only need to visit their restrooms with all the gold trimmings which looks like something you would see in a 5-star hotel! Fully recommend this place!!!

Food is amazing. Restaurant is not merely clean, but immaculate. Customer service is the absolute BEST that I have ever received in the city. One tiny quibble: The menu signs could be more clearly written.

Restaurant is clean. The staff is courteous and helpful. They play Quran in the background rather loud which in my opinion(and I am Muslim) is not appropriate for a restaurant because people are talking and it is disrespectful to the Quran. As for the food, my friend and I decided to try an authentic Egyptian dish they had. We both had the Hawawshi which is similar to a Middle Eastern pizza. A warning about this dish it is an appetizer size portion definitely not something you should order as a meal. It wasn’t filling at all. But it tasted really good. It was spicy and bursting in flavor. I ended my «meal» with baklava which was also good. The prices on the menu looked fair. And my «appetizer» was only $ 5.95. I would definitely return for more of a meal.

A hidden gem in Astoria! My friend and I almost walked right by this place b/c the sign isn’t very obvious from the street(it’s on the 2nd story of the façade and you have to crane your neck to see it). Owner and staff were really nice, and the place was an interesting mix of beautiful(handcrafted!) ancient Egyptian décor with a food court-style setup. We had a delicious fateer with raisins, pistachios and coconut flakes, and the coffee was surprisingly good, too. They have extra seating on the 2nd floor, and a kids’ play area + video game room on the 3rd floor(though they didn’t yet have any video games when we went).

Diverse menu, great prices, big portions, tasty food and good-looking establishment. The owner makes his rounds and sets an excellent example in customer service that his staff follows. Friendly and fast service, very satisfied with my experience.

This new novel family festaurant with an Egyptian theme. I… admittedly don’t know much about Egyptian cuisine so I can’t speak for authenticity but the staff certainly did a good job explaining items to us. I’d expect their offerings are Americanized to appeal to younger eaters, although they do have some nifty imported(non alcoholic) Egyptian beverages. The drinks were kind of expensive, as expected, but they’re probably for parents to try out while the kids enjoy the décor and the play area on the third floor. We had the feteer, which was described to us as pizza-like, but it’s probably closer to a crêpe. It’s basically layers of flakey dough stuffed with a la carte options. It’s deceptively filling though, as they don’t skimp on the portions of the a la carte ingredients… indeed, 2 orders should feed 3 people. We had a savory one with onions, tomatoes, and sausage(they come with cheese) and my wife noted how bright and fresh the sausage tasted. The owner also comp’d us a sweet feteer with assorted nuts, raisins, sugar, coconut shreds, and custard. I really enjoyed the contrast of the texture of the coconut against the light pastry and the fullness of the custard. The staff was exceptionally friendly and it was very obvious that the owner had a lot of pride in his establishment. HIGHLYRECOMMENDIF: you want to introduce kids(or any other non adventurous eater) to this cuisine; you want to entertain little kids; or you want to stoop somewhere for a «quick bite» that isn’t fast food.

Absolutely amazing in every way. I’ve never had Egyptian food but I’m sure this is as good as it gets! The owner is super accommodating and shows his new restaurant with pride. He goes the extra mile to make everything authentic and true to Egyptian food and culture. I’ll be back every time I’m in Queens!

So good! Stumbled upon this place while walking down Steinway. Wonderful décor, amazing food, fantastic customer service, what more could they have? 3 floors, the to available for birthday parties and just fun for the kids. Must return to eat through the whole menu.

Very eye catchy but the food is very poor in quantity and quality. You can go to the halal guys on 53rd and 3rd and get a better platter for a cheaper price. Sorry guys its the honest truth. Disappointing.

Overall: Great place for coffee and dessert. A quick bite or a long chat with an old friend. Great service. Very clean. Food: Try the sweet Feteer, a filo-dough like layered crêpe with coconut, pistachio and crème. Coffee was great as well. I’d come back for coffee alone. Strong coffee. Ambience: Fast-food/food court style. Very clean. Love the décor, it’s very artistic and tasteful. When I first walked past this place I mistakenly thought it was an art gallery. Bright, lots of seating and even a play room for kids on the 3rd floor. Wish it had: An eye-level or street view sign outside the building so that others don’t miss this great place!

Gorgeously decorated place. horrible service I ordered a pasta dish with vodka sauce .they had no vodka sauce .OK no problem so I said give me Alfredo sauce instead… no Alfredo sauce .the cook told me to take meat sauce… I then said I want crispy chicken with that .he ignored me .so I spoke to the cashier and told her I wanted crispy chicken with that order .she told the cook and he got pissed off and threw my food on the table. normally I would have jumped over the counter and choked somebody out .but I’m older and wiser now ;) but I will never come back here.

I had no idea what I was in for, amazing! Warm hospitality right from the start, the owner, Kalid, introduced us to the entire menu before recommending that we try feteer, which was basically a very thin crust Egyptian pizza. Seriously, I’m done with pizza, feteer is a homerun with dough so thin that the actual taste of the fresh ingredients really stands out, and, two people can share one! We also tried the desert feteer, which was lightly filled with custard and lightly covered in powdered sugar, very similar to a crêpe pastry, an absolute must. Lastly, I have to mention that the décor is so authentically Egyptian that the owners bright actual Egyptian artists to the store for 3-D wall art and even an eye catching pharoah in a thrown fit a front window center piece. No more can be said, just go there!
