Great service, great food. We actually came here after amongst place just for coffee but when I saw the menu I was upset we didn’t just go there to eat! They have great much and dinner options such as crepes I sandwiches and pastas. My water glass never got empty because the kept refilling it(I drink a lot of water so I kept all of them on their toes to be honest, not intentionally lol). The waitress was very attentive but not overbearing. Since we were pretty much full from the food we had eaten we just split a nutella and banana crêpe which was delicious, they funny skimp on out on either ingredient which a lot of places do. It was almost oozing out the sides at every cut. My friend enjoyed her coffee, I thoroughly enjoyed my light hot chocolate(which is just white hot chocolate in my opinion, at least that’s what it looked and tasted like… they had dark got chocolate and light chocolate) very enjoyable little dessert for It’s but I Will be back for a full meal because that menu looked Great

This just looks like an average corner café-bar yet the food is quite different. The bruschetta — both classic and mushroom is incredibly tasty while the wine, ambiance and service is excellent. Went there for both breakfast and dinner and finding fault was hard. The day staff are chirpy and the night staff more serious yet still friendly. The coffee is also terrific. Why do omelets come with fries? This isn’t a fault of Café Mocha as everyone does it but I just don’t get it. Anyway, try an omelet on its own — they’re great.

Randomly stumbled upon this café while walking around East Village. This place advertises many different specials. HH every day of the week until 7pm? Free cheese plate with a bottle of wine? The list goes on. It left me a bit skeptical on the quality of the food/drinks since good food/drinks should speak for themselves. But. how wrong was I? Bellini– delicious. and $ 6 during happy hour. Pesto Fettuccine– delicious without being too heavy(an issue with many cream-based pastas) and comes with two large pieces of garlic/buttered bread. The décor is somewhat confusing. For a café, it definitely does not have a normal quaint little cozy café feel. It’s somewhat diner-esque with a full length bar extending on the other side of the room. Sat at the bar all night on a Sunday — probably from 6−10pm. Only ate/drank for ~1 hour and did not feel pressured to order more or GTFO by the staff. Usually I’d feel terrible for not ordering more things but there were plenty of open seats(so I wasn’t hogging up precious space) and hey — it was a(mildly) snowy lazy Sunday night.

Absolutely in love this place! They have amazing variety of coffee and wine, everything from omelettes to pastas and burgers. I had eggs Benedict with salmon for brunch — it was D.e.L.i.C.i.O.u.Ssss and moreover the prices are really good for the city !

This is a little café that serves up small treats and has coffee and what not. In the evening — we got here not too late, but it was dark outside, but it was very dark inside, almost without lights. The fries were good but the hot chocolate and mocha were only ok. It wasn’t crowded but took the time to hang out and enjoy ourselves. The waiters were very friendly and very nice and kept us comfortable and were very attentative.

Solid French style café, with good omelets and large coffee drinks. Service was good, but not overly friendly if that’s your thing. Recommend sitting at the bar if you need more attention.

The first time I came to Café Mocha, I had a wonderful time. The place was cozy, the food was delicious, and the hot chocolate came in a huge cup. I ordered the Pancakes with Strawberries($ 7.95) and my boyfriend ordered the Lorraine Omelet($ 9.95). The prices were fair for the amount of food that we got. It was a great experience. However, the second time I came here, things did not go so well. I came in a group of six this time. I had been telling my friends how good this café was. The food was tasty as usual, but there was an unusually long wait and we didn’t get good service from the waiters/waitresses. When we were done with our meals and received the check, the waitress told us that we had to pay an extra $ 20 «service fee», since we had 6+ people dining together. We were not told about this beforehand so we got pretty annoyed. We didn’t understand why we were paying extra money for slow food and unattentive waiters, and why we had to pay an extra fee for giving the café more service(a group of 6). The café was not crowded and there were many tables/seats still available, so it’s not like we were hogging the space. I have not returned since this incident. My advice — don’t go with a party of 6 or more. They surprise you with the ridiculous«service fee» at the end of your meal.

There was a lot of good in my visit to Caffe Mocha, but the menu and the kitchen are off the rails. If you’re going to come here for dinner, there are a few things you need to know, like: Don’t. This really is more of a café that happens to have a full menu then a restaurant. After the problems with our orders, we looked around the busy space to see what other people had ordered and realized that we were the only people eating. The reason for this is that the ambiance and drinks(both alcoholic and of the coffee variety) are great, but the kitchen is: Crazy. We both ordered the«smoked salmon BLT,» described in the menu as being a BLT with«thinly slice smoked salmon.» Instead of smoked salmon BLTs, we got salmon fillets on rolls. When we asked what was up, the waitress looked at us like we were the crazy ones and explained that the salmon had been smoked in a smoker, so it was smoked. First, I don’t believe that this café has a smoker, but more importantly, that is not what«thinly slice smoked salmon» is. She asked us if we thought we’d be getting«salmon like deli meat salmon,» and I was actually speechless. I just can’t imagine we were the first people to ever have this issue here, and the fact that she tried to make it seem like«thinly slice smoked salmon» could ever be taken to mean a thick fillet that had been smoked in a smoker was really dumbfounding. Also, the«baked goat cheese» appetizer is just regular cold goat cheese with a side of bread. The menu is in identity crisis. Even though the chef’s faithfulness to the menu and the server’s attitude left a lot to be desired, the good in the visit was that this space is charming. The outdoor sidewalk seating is perfect for a summer night, and inside looked just as picturesque. Also, the salmon fillet burger, which I ended up just getting over and eating, was yummy. Not what I ordered, but still yummy. Had I not been so put off by their lack of owning up to the salmon snafu I could definitely see myself coming back for drinks with friends or a leisurely afternoon coffee.

Quirky little place, great spot for a pit stop to rest and have a coffee/snack in an environment with a bit more character than standard coffee chains. The mugs are huge — if you like chai tea lattes, be sure to try theirs. A medium is probably 16oz though, so you may want to order a smaller size than usual!

Nvr will Go back. Waitress was downright rude at the end of the meal. Understandably her life is a sham, she is real beat looking, still doesn’t give her the excuse to be rude after her incompetence in ringing checks, She gave looks and showed anger and frustration. Food is good and bad meaning it is a hit or miss, had a delightful couple of appetizers. I came with a date and after the way that waitress treated me in front of my special sombody i will go out of my way to discourage ppl from going to this ok eastvillage café. Trust me this aint the best or close to it in the E. V dont waist your time, money and happyness here. you might encounter that same waitress. P.S i did absolute nothing to deserve this treatment, I work in service so I know how to engage someone who is serving me.

THISIS A TRUECAFE. people. I write this as a person literally in France at the moment. that is how much i love this place! But really, this is a real café: sit outdoors, stay for a while, wine, great homemade food, coffee– everything. no gimmick. no buckets of beer. just really normal things that everyone wants. I come here a lot. Free cheese plate with every bottle of wine?! yes. salmon salad? double yes. Fries? Literally the best. Anyways. awesome.

Came on a Tuesday afternoon to study, there were a couple people there chatting or studying. I really like the windows fronting 2nd ave, makes for a good people watching position. Music wasn’t terribly loud which I appreciated. Was seated by a waiter and ordered with him– not a typical coffee shop set up. Looks like they have happy hour wines and beers from 12 – 7 pm. Got a café mocha– espresso with dark Belgium chocolate and milk($ 3.50). The heart in the foam was cute, but drink felt watered down. It wasn’t very chocolatey or much espresso taste. And… FYI Prince Charming from Shrek could be your waiter

The food was pretty good. We got a steak pasta, beef burger and pumpkin ale which was delicious. I wanted to review this place mainly because our server was so commendable. Yes, I just used that word because he did an honorable thing! My date had left his credit card in the check but our server actually ran out, caught up with us outside the restaurant, and gave him back his CC. He was also very cool about honoring the 10% Unilocal check-in discount(this might be standard but I’ve had a negative experience with that so I was grateful). Other things to note: noise level was average on a Friday night. The bathroom was clean. The only thing I would mark toward«room for improvement» is having seats so close to the door that the person seated facing it would get a blast of cold air whenever someone walks in/out.

Atmosphere is local coffee shop, open mic night vibe. The coffees and drinks are all really good but can be on the sweeter side so make sure you figure out whats in it before ordering. The large is huge! We also shared a crêpe which was just okay for me. It was lacking on the nutella side and there was too much crêpe dough and not enough filling overall. The service is friendly and on top of their tables. I saw some food go by, a burger and a salad. Everything smelled and looked good, but it doesnt seem like a place to go for a good burger.

Five stars for the best employee, Amir. Anything from him is fantastic– sit at the bar. All espresso drinks are delicious(definitely on the sweet side, though so I have to be in the mood). Free wifi. Ask Amir what’s good to eat– I’ve had a variety of things off the menu over the years. The food is good– obviously it’s a café, not a high quality restaurant. It’s just a nice casual, go to café to do work, have nice convo, and grab drinks. I would say, dessert and drinks are the best. Okay, but without my bias, overall it’s a 2 – 3 star.

I had bookmarked this place a few months ago and finally decided to make the trip with my best friend. We were suppose to go earlier in the day but ended up making it a dinner trip and I wasn’t sure how much the place had to offer. I was surprised how adorable this place is. I pictured it to feel more like a café(because of the name) but the entire room was dark, only lit with candles. We were seated immediately. I had the Mac & Cheese which i thoroughly enjoyed. It was $ 9, a great portion for the prize. Our waiters got switched in the middle of our dinner. The guy that came 2nd forgot just about everything minus the check. First he forgot to bring our drinks. I didn’t get my drink until after my dinner was over, which I wasn’t happy about. After our dinner was over, we asked the waiter for the menu so we could order lattes(originally what we came for). Once again after waiting several minutes he finally noticed me looking at him and he grabbed the menus and made it seem like he told someone else to give us the menus but they forgot. I had the Royal Vanilla latte,(a medium that seemed like an extra large) great size and it was really good. I enjoyed my food and drinks at this place, but I have to a star due to the forgetful waiter. It wasn’t crowded and there is no reason to leave someone waiting for that long.
