BTH Restaurant & Lounge

This review goes just for the bar. We were waiting to eat at Dinosaur BBQ and the wait time was an hour, so why not grab a couple drinks next door. The ambience is nice & sultry, candles lit, lights very dim and low playing music. The décor is modern & sleek. They have great bartenders who are very personable. The drinks are amazing & they happy hour until 8pm! Please try the red sangria its a great drink that sneaks up on you! Lol I will definitely come back.

Went here for brunch today and it was not a good experience. The food was sub par and the service was horrible. How dare you put a $ 35.00 cupcake fee for plating and sticking a sparkler in the cupcakes we brought to establishments. This fee should have been stated prior. Also explain when there is an extra fee for something! Don’t just put it on the bill!

I really love this restaurant! Great food and drinks with excellent service. The other reason I like this Sexy Lounge is that I’m one of their resident DJ’s

Came here for brunch with some friends and while the music was amazing, service wasn’t as great as I anticipated. They took a while to refill our glasses and the food was just OK.

Stylish atmosphere good music. But maybe January is the down time. From pictures on Unilocal and other comments of friends that have gone in the passed. Saturday 8pm dinner party of eight and four other guests where the only ones in the restaurant. Music was good but it wasn’t the club atmosphere I expected or was talked about on Unilocal.Our waiter Maurice was nice but didn’t attend to our party enough. Food and drinks taste great. Going to try and come back a different night hoping to get a better feel of the restaurant.

Had a wonderfilled experience here over this wknd! Food was great! It’s new so attendance was low but bottomless Mimosas for an hr+ were gr8! Con’s: slightly under attentive and I felt that one waiter didn’t really want to be bothered with getting additional condiments. Other than that it was cool. Good for groups and for dates. Music was cool. I’d also advise them to steer away from sad songs. stick with cool top 40 and everything else on your playlist. Get rid of that Maxwell sad track. Puhhleeze I Maxwell but hearin that breakup track was a buzzkill. It brought me down.

My college friends and I got together for brunch and had a great time. Service was fast and efficient, our waitress was sweet (actually there were lots of smiles from the employees there), and the food was great! We had french toast sticks, catfish tempura, prawns and grits, steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, a poached egg dish that I can’t remember the exact name of. There were no complaints coming from our table. The portion sizes were decent, too, which was a plus. There was a nice ambiance and the view overlooking the Hudson River really adds to the setting.

I really enjoyed myself here! Food was great and the staff was helpful. Only negative was the chef not willing to change the eggs from poached to scrambled with the salmon cake. He quickly dismissed the idea and said «he’s not changing or modifying his menu». Nevertheless, the chicken and waffle sandwich was excellent. First time seeing the dish as a sandwich and I was very impressed with the presentation and taste! I would go back!

BTH, better known as By The Hudson, was totally not on my agenda for the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by this place that sits very near the legendary «Cotton Club»!
One of my best friends invited me to brunch with him and a few of our mutual friends at BTH. I never heard of this place but bring the consummate Unilocaler that I am, I jumped at the opportunity to try a new place.
The Sunday brunch at By The Hudson is a complete turn up and the fact that it has a views of the Hudson River is an added bonus. I’m not sure what the rest of the week is like but Sunday was amazing. I arrived a little after 3pm and two birthday parties were going on and this made the atmosphere very festive. The staff was very attentive to our party as we eased into our evening of celebration.
I had the Shrimp with Pawns and many of my friends has the chicken and waffles. One of my friends had the eggs-​side salad-​and potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their meals and vowed to return at a later date.
I highly recommend BTH!

The food is delish. Simple uncomplicated menu.
But, read the name — restaurant & lounge. There is no real interest in being a restaurant or providing restaurant-​type service. It’s a lounge, even during brunch, in which you might be served food — late, if they remember.
The DJ is on point. But, again, in the Lounge you will be yelling over your food.
Great for drinks. Not great for meals or group gatherings.

Love the atmosphere, had brunch and the food is amazing. The DJ is great, very hype. I wouldn’t recommend people who like to eat at a quite establishment eat here, the music is loud. Other than that I really like the place

Came here for my friends birthday brunch, there was a great view, and the waiter was pretty nice. The place is pretty small, and was packed when we went. There was a DJ playing some good music. The bathroom was pretty cool, nice décor ! The food was good, I had the chicken and Waffle sandwich with some fries. The menu was okay, I felt there wasn’t much of a selection or variety of foods.

Loved it here. The view was AMAZING. The food even better. Had a burger and jack punch.

This resturant is everything… I have to come back for brunch flow! I was visiting the area, by way of Time Square but really from Washington DC… and I decided to pop in. This resturant is literally right BY THE HUDSON, hence BTH… right off 125^th station baby! Below the Cotton Club!
Anywho, I came in around 5, too early for dinner too late for lunch menu. I sat at the bar and was greeted by ARY. Ary is such a spirit. We talked and talked for a good while — while waiting on my food. He was a wonderful bartender/​server!
Since they were in between lunch and dinner switch I ordered drinks and calamari and wings. All delish. I’m definitely going back to BTH for brunch with friends soon. After my quick meal I headed across the street to Pier Park to watch the sun set over the Hudson Fabtastic!

I’ve been here about 8 times in the last 6 weeks for the view and it’s convenient location. Well today is the Last Time! I came back today with my girls so they could enjoy a drink or two. Well I don’t drink so I just wanted to redeem the Complimentary Dessert … But the why BTH is set up… Anyway it’s Friday Night 9:15pm and pack with 16 people (including myself and 3 friends) Night Life this is NOT the place. The food is OK at best…

After hearing about this place for some time, I was happy to hear that my friend was doing her Birthday Brunch here this past Sunday. (The Prix Fixe special is $ 35 for an entrée and 1.5hrs of mimosas and/​or bellinis.) Our reservation was for 11:30am and by the time everyone arrived/​we were seated it was around noon.
The restaurant was super empty at this point with only 1 or 2 parties of two trickling in. Our group of ten ladies were seated in the center with the Hudson River as the backdrop. The weather was beautiful and the sun was shining into the restaurant, whose décor/​location was wonderful.
Our waiter Maurice (?) was attentive and polite, and stayed on top of refilling our carafes of bellini and mimosas (and leaving them with us to self-​serve. (I love when places do this — especially with a large group — so that you can maximize your unltd benefits!)
I got the chicken and waffle sandwich and was not disappointed. When it was brought to the table everyone else was staring at it! The other ladies all had a mixture of sweet and savory dishes and I didn’t hear a single complaint — no small task for a group of ten different people with differing palates.
By the time we were heading out (to go across the street and take Birthday pics in front of the Hudson, more groups of people were trickling in. The DJ was SO on point and we literally danced our way out.
I can’t wait to go back!

I love the restaurant’s location and the ambiance. The food was good but not amazing. The fish paired with a bean curd was off with flavor. Maybe paired the fish with a different side. I should have got the prime rib. This was my second visit. The drinks are a little over priced for Harlem and are not amazing that I would want a second.

Just leaving from an amazing dining experience at BTH. I had seen several friends post pics about this restaurant and tonight was date night with my husband and I. We wanted to keep it local in Harlem so we didn’t have a far journey home. I made reservations online via OpenTable because I didn’t know how packed they are on the weekday evening.
I arrived 8pm for my reservation time. It wasn’t busy or packed during this time. I think they may have been 3 tables there when I arrived. My husband was arriving late so I opted to sit at the bar until he arrived. The bartender made my drink as instructed and was pretty personable as well. While sitting that the bar I got a chance to look around the restaurant. The décor was rather modern and trendy and these oversize looking sofas that had tall backs. Along with great décor they have an amazing view of the Hudson. If you are on an intimate date I would recommend making reservations during sunset time.
Finally my husband arrived and we were seated. For the appetizers we started with were catfish tempura and lobster mac n cheese. My husband selected the catfish tempura which had beautiful presentation and tasted great. I selected the Lobster mac n cheese and it wasn’t the best I had tasted but it was definitely good. I liked that it had rather large pieces of lobster in it. For my entrée I ordered the Scallops dish and it was so filling due to the fact it had risotto. My husband offered the Salmon dish which was some of the best salmon I had at a restaurant and I have had a lot.
The service was extraordinary as well. Our server was attentive, kind, and personable as well. She told us about their weekend events an the best times to arrive since they fill up fast.
I will be returning soon and thank you BTH for an awesome dining experience.
