I walked by here the other night and was devestated that this location had closed. When I lived in the area, this was my staple. I loved the nachos, pbr,. I loved the bartenders who were always nice and fun. I hope that I see them again in my bar travels around the city… The frat scene was typically douchey. But they’re frat buys, not serial killers who lie about who they are, so it’s not like you expected anything good from them because frat boys show their true colors so you have a chance to say no. The professional patrons though… the natives grabbing dinner on their way home from work or the ones taking advantage of the happy hour were always nice and pleasant too. And dare I say, I have had the pleasure of meeting the finest gentleman this city has to offer here:) Now where they all went in that fratty area now remains a mystery. Hey, the place is closed. It’s not like I have to rate the food anymore:) Thanks all for being a part of my first couple years here.

You can’t go wrong with the Wings for appetizer. Love the Carolina Pulled Pork with the mac n cheese and mash with gravy. I wish they would bring back the biscuits n gravy to the menu and sell the sauces like they used to. I’m not too much of a fan of their drinks. It beats Dallas BBQ in my opinion as far as the food.

I give this restaurant /bar 3 stars. This place has its good and its bad. Well to start off with the bad Bad — (1) Brother Jimmy’s signature fish bowl drink is not as great as it looks. Yes it’s a huge alcoholic drink but it is just filled with sugar and ice. I did not get any buzz on it and it is one of their expensive drink on the menu! (2) The service was okay. I notice it was only females who were serving, very pretty chicks but suck at serving. Me and my boyfriend servant would pass us a couple of times without asking if we need anything or if we are ok. We literally waited a whole 15 to 20 minutes just to ask for the check. Very much a bummer. Good — (1) Food there was amazing. Great flavoring (2) The music was awesome great 90s and early 2000s Pop music. I really went back into time. It was really enjoyable! ________________________________________ Honestly, I would come back to this place or maybe try a different location of Brother Jimmy. Just lesson learn, don’t order the fish bowl! :)

Perfect place for that«I’m in between paychecks» kind of day! lol $ 3 happy hour drinks and half priced apps. Sit outside so you’re not feeling like you’re a broke 21 year old anymore, lol there’s something about sidewalk seating that makes you feel that you are not quite as broke in that moment, lol Service is phenomenal. everyone is so sweet. Also, this location gets a lot of families… so it’s not skeevy!

Who doesn’t love a good bro js. This one in upper west is awesome. The staff is great! I was there last Friday and set their«pitcher record» with my group of friends and they loved celebrating with us at the restaurant. The wings are delicious and beer keeps on coming!

We love their pulled pork and Cheerwine. The sauces are good too. Everything always comes out warm and fresh and we never have to wait too long. This is the only place we’ve found in the city that does decent BBQ. It is a bar, but if you go for lunch or early evening, you don’t have the bar scene, it’s not crowded or loud. I don’t bother going for a late dinner because I can’t stand drunks. If you like your BBQ, definitely check this place out!

Just ordered take out and it came without any sauce condiments for the bbq and the baked beans were smashed open after the lids came off. Sure, I understand it is take out and sometimes it happens but I just felt that the overall order was a flop. I may give it another try down the line but maybe stopping in would be the better option going forward.

Came here on a Sunday evening to watch El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona. The waitress was very kind to accommodate us to the back of the restaurant and switch one of the TVs to show El Clasico. This is a great place to watch games! :)

Came here with a group of 6 after a few hours of Santa-con. *I ordered the chicken salad with honey mustard dressing(my experiences with their other entrees has been disappointing). The salad was also a let down: it was half salad/half dressing. The pool of dressing at the bottom of my bowl made me gag. However, the bottled beer was good(yay). So that’s where the star goes to, Abita purple haze.

Barbecue, Barbecue, Barbecue! If you’re hankering for some barbecue, Brother Jimmy’s will get the job done. They’ve got a stellar deal on Football Sundays, unlimited ribs and beer for under $ 30. If you want wings, you’ll have to have them barbecued, but they will be good!

I have to say, I expected worse. Being a native Texan I am always very skeptical about BBQ in NY. Here was my overall experience… The service– Could’ve been better. Our waitress was friendly enough. She even hit me with a «sweetheart» but she could’ve been more attentive(not naming names) Atmosphere– Tables are very close to one another so be prepared to engage with your neighbors or spend your dining time trying to ignore them. Don’t expect perfection in these bathrooms. I went into the women’s and one of the toilet seats didn’t even fit the toilet. They weren’t filthy but what bathroom is immaculate in NYC? Have a birthday? The servers come at you with blowing whistles and an alcoholic beverage. Food– Try the fried okra! Everything else I had was mediocre. I would visit again and maybe try more BBQ items.

This place sucks. Any place that charges $ 30 for five ribs and a few sides is a rip off. And, why don’t they serve a full rack of ribs? I just came to learn that after calling in an order for pick up for a full rack and getting home to find 5 ribs for me and my husband to share. Thanks BJ for ruining our dinner and not mentioning this when I made the order. Guess we’ll have Halal cart food for dinner after all. Nothing worse than an unmet craving… I will be permanently taking my business elsewhere. PS, if you choose to eat there, bring earplugs, it’s deafeningly loud.

Dude, this place sucks! I’ve eaten here a couple of times, and the food was always a little bit off. The service is pretty ratchet. It took about 10 – 15 minutes just to get seated. Then, forever for our food to come. To make matters worse, our orders got mixed up. When I’m craving a burger, I want a burger. When mine came out, the meat was tiny and the side of fries tasted like it was a day old. I did enjoy the different BBQ sauces, but for the price, this is not a BBQ joint I would like to visit.

One of the best set of ribs I’ve had in the city in quite sometime… Northern, southern style ribs both are great. Mac & cheese just as good… make sure its hot. they initially arrived cold… Mashed potatoes were ok. but I’m still impressed by the ribs… very meaty and with generous portions… and now when i crave An alcoholic sweet tea this is my place from here on out.

Go there for the fishbowl, not to eat! Having been here twice but not for food, we thought to give it a try. Bad choice! Food came 45 minutes after we ordered. The bacon in my burger was burnt, so were my boyfriend‘s wings. We asked them to bring us another order of wings and they brought us the exact same wings literally 2 minutes later! Also, my sweet potato fries were cold. Friendly service. Relaxed and casual ambience, happy hours. A lot of TVs to watch sports.

Came with an Amazon voucher for $ 40 to Spend. For 2 people we had enough leftovers for 2 more meals! Pros: * Phenomenal wings comparable to Mudville 9! Honestly everything else is OK compared to the wings. We did enjoy the rib tips but the pulled pork was dry and needed sauce. * Even when you sit outside our service was great: friendly and speedy * Free refills on soda Tips: * Unlike the Murray Hill Brother Jimmy’s, this location is more like a bar than a restaurant and the only place you can have a rather quiet sit-down dinner is outside(and is perfect for people-watching). If you want rowdy, loud and drunk then this inside is for you. * Leftovers: Ribtips make an amazing fried rice and the pulled pork for a pulled pork sandwich melt

The GF gives the Cobb Salad a 4-cobb rating, and it might be the only reason to go out of your way to eat here. The fries were skin-on and tasty, too My pressed brisket sandwich was fine(the brisket was better than some!). There’s outdoor seating. The deets! Cobb salad, 12.25 Pressed brisket sandwich, 10.75, with fries(0.50 add for a little slaw) Sauvignon Blanc, 8 TOTAL: 31.50 BONUS: Good value!

Delicious food, great drink deals, many tvs, and good service. Ordered the Mac and cheese and it was delicious. The pulled chicken was pretty good too. Their BBQ sauce tastes different from the others which is good. The sweet potato fries were delicious. I normally don’t like sweet potato fries. The hurricane drink was delicious. Some were made strong some weren’t so they lack consistency but it was still good.

I’d been to a couple of Brother Jimmy’s locations for drinks, but finally got around to trying some of their food. My friend and I decided to check it out for dinner. We came around 9 and were quickly seated. Our server was friendly, but there were several people waiting for food so it took a while before we were fed. I ordered the 4 Sides and chose the Macaroni & Cheese, BBQ Baked Beans with Pulled Pork, Collard Greens, and Fried Brussel Sprouts. Absolutely loved it! The macaroni and cheese had so much cheesy goodness and the brussel sprouts were so good! I’d never had them fried before and am definitely going to be getting them again. The collard greens and baked beans were fairly standard, which means I enjoyed them. I didn’t know that they give 25% off on Wednesday Southern nights to people with Southern IDs(and I usually deny that Maryland is in the South) so I’ll definitely have to find a Wednesday to come back!
