Dirty, always out of everything and very unfriendly staff. For a few bucks more head to Le Estufa. Stay away! Oh, and food is not properly stored and is not fresh.

When I grab a menu and dial out for delivery there’s a good chance Munchies is going to be picking up on the other end of the phone. My roommate first introduced me to this hole in the wall a couple months ago an I was hooked the second I saw the size of the burger that was thrown on the grill. With prices rivaling the likes of McDonald’s and Burger king and far superior quality this is your final destination. The menu isn’t huge and neither is the seating area, but it’s the perfect place to sit and watch the game or grab food on the way to the park. Delivery is fast and service is great, they’ll get the fifth star from me when they stop forgetting to include their signature munchie sauce when I order delivery.

It is amazing how much influence Spanish(not from Spain) food affect everything else in this area of town. What would normally be considered American style fare is transformed into Spanish-American fusion. Munchies consists of standard fare things: sandwiches, burgers, salads, shakes and so on. But of course, then have empanadas, tostones rellenos and the like. :) FYI, they also serve breakfast too(omelettes, bagels, etc.) When we went, it was open for about a week or so, so they were getting into their groove. Lots of things weren’t up and running yet: they didn’t have proper shakes because they hadn’t gotten their ice cream yet; they kept mixing up my order for chicken empanadas and kept giving me cheese. The burgers we ordered weren’t bad at all, BUT — and this is my biggest gripe — the cheese they had didn’t have any flavor. What a travesty!!! That’s like a Greek tragedy, man. The place itself is extremely cute and modern looking. Lots of bright colors and of course, all of the equipment is new. Seating is all at the bar with stools — no tables. The people were also pleasant… apologetic for a lot, but pleasant. As of the time we went, it was a cash only establishment, but that may have changed since then. The prices are the real draw of this place: $ 4.25 cheeseburger deluxe, $ 3.00 ham and cheese sandwich… the prices are more than fair. They have lots of potential. I’ll go back and revisit them in a month or so to see if they’re transitioning well… I’ll give an update then.
