Dr Franklin was my endocrinologist at Beth Israel when I was diagnosed with it in my teens. This was many many moons ago. She was absolutely fantastic but I had to stop seeing her because i became an adult and she only practices on children LOL. I would still see her if I could .I was never able to find an endocrinologist as good as her.

I’ve worked for this Dr. since Oct 07& its been quite the experience. We have families that have been in our practice for years and wouldn’t think of ever switching practices. There are families who leave right away and transfer to Tribeca Pediatrics. Dr. F sees every patient and is thorough with each one, which can lead to a wait time. If this isn’t for you, I do not recommend this practice. However, we do have patients who do come back, because there is a difference in style of how you are handled at this practice and newer practices. We are very old school, nothing is automated or done by computers. The practice still uses paper charts and a paper appointment book. The staff is tiny(it is a small practice) but I can say I believe this practice is very personable, because after your second visit, you are definitely remembered and recognized in the office.(I recognize parent’s voices to the point where I don’t have to ask the child’s name) She’s been named one of the best Pediatric Endocrinologist by New York Magazine this year. And in the past year I’ve seen a lot of new patients referred to by PCPs who insist on Dr. F. I give 4 stars because: There is a wait time. I don’t disagree with the other reviews in that you should definitely ask questions and be pushy and follow up. But I would recommend that with any doctor to anyone with a chronic condition or a new diagnosed illness. There’s people who love us and who love to hate us(or at least give us a hard time) but I do believe Dr. F genuinely cares about her patients and that she is a great diagnostician.

Late last year, she sent me a copy of her written report to my daughter’s pediatrician. She also called me after the quarterly checkup this year to let me know she was changing my girl’s medication and telling me why. She was polite and answered my questions patiently.

Her office is conveniently located in Tribeca. She accepts Oxford Liberty and Empire Child Health Plus. But boy, is she sooo old fashioned and grumpy. She totally is far from personable.
