The associated wear sweats like they just got out of bed. There was an item in the window that attracted my attention but they can’t take it out and they don’t know what it is to find it in another store. They didn’t even offer to do that until I asked for a manager. First n last experience in a bolton’s

One block away from the subway station(express and local line) you may find a small entrance on 86th st between Lexington and 3rd. The store is crowded though decently organized. When entering I had much better expectation I would find good deals but after a few minutes I realized the fabrics and taste was not what I expected. Prices are very attractive but choice of pieces are not what I would like to wear to look smart at the office or comfortable enough to be at home. Seems I was lucky with the staff as they were not rude as other reviews commented. Although do not expect a work class service. Although a guy working in the store was signing so high in the back while I was looking at some clothes that I thought it was hilarious! Glad to see someone enjoying a hot summer working day !!

Bolton’s has been a stalwart of NYC for decades. Always a great place to pick up separates, sweaters, dresses, and cute accessories at a reasonable price. Every other Bolton’s that I’ve ever been in, E42nd, 1st Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Lexington Avenue, and the former one on Madison — all had pleasant and helpful staff. Bolton’s on East 86th Street is the rudest and most non-customer friendly store — of any kind of store that I have ever been in. Over the years, I would spend a few hundred every month, stopping in on my way home from work to add to my business wardrobe. Last summer, while checking out with many items, I recommended to the cashier that whoever puts the securities buzzers on dresses and pants should put them on the hem rather than in the middle of the backside because it’s so difficult to get a proper sense of the fit and look. She didn’t say a word to me, but looked at the other cashier and they laughed in my face. Needless to say, my visits to this Bolton’s lessened considerably. Tonight, I stopped in after work, and wanting to try on several items, asked the sales lady for a dressing room. With a big attitude she replied No, it’s taken.’ I said, ‘you have 3 other fitting rooms and they’re empty.’ Her response, ‘Too bad, Wait, only 1 customer can be in any fitting room at a time’ — Even though there are 4 fitting rooms. She turned away and that was it. Hung up all the items I was holding and walked out of E86th Bolton’s forever. NOTOLERANCE for sales people being unnecessarily rude and difficult. Would rather pay double or triple than deal with this store which tarnishes the Bolton’s image. Fortunately, there are other Bolton’s stores with courteous and adequately trained sales people, who don’t resent dealing with customers.
