Stopping by for lunch today, I ordered the rice and tofu plate with a side of kimchi. While tasty, nothing was exceptional, and certainly not worth $ 10(one has to pay $ 1 extra for a side of kimchi which, frankly, should be included.)

It was a scene right out of a horror film. I was several bites into a treat of a lunch — a beef and rice bowl from Bob & Jo’s truck. After a couple of days of salad, this felt like something indulgent to power me through the rest of the day. There’s rarely a line at this Korean truck, which I place partially on their erratic special and also lazy marketing compared with giants like Korilla. So I’m taking a bite only for my chopsticks to hit a soft white lump. Further inspection reveals this to be a huge scoop of mayo on my rice platter! What would lead Bob or Jo to think that I would want my least favorite food hanging out in a rice bowl? Gochujang would have been nice, but it’s not offered. Sriracha is definitely welcome. But not this! It was a crushing disappointment, turning what was supposed to the best lunch of the week into a game of bury the containment. Even without this error, there’s relatively little to cheer about at this truck, which lacks the quality of meat, spicing and presentation of its competitors. Since there is no competition in this corner of the FiDi, I may return — but not with this level of anticipation.

oMg, we waited for 1 hour to get the food. Maybe the kitchen was not working properly during that time. How are they gonna survive in nyc if they cant get the food fast to theor customers

This truck is right around the corner from me so I happened to try it as soon as I moved into the neighborhood. Had the bulgogi rice platter, gotta say it tasted madd good but for $ 9 hardly filled me up

The prices are fantastic. I came out of a Halloween party @ 2 am in Bushwick, Brooklyn and they were open with much service. I picked up a rice bowl with chicken for $ 7. It filled me up and it was delicious. I will definitely be grabbing another bite again.

Love the Bob & Jo Truck. Wish it was here every day. Everything is cooked to order but they work super fast. No heat lamp meals here. I have tried everything here except the burger and the breakfast which I want so bad. Today I had the pork bibimbap spicy rice bowl, which is like Matthew B described a bibimbap atop a sald with rice. Yummy and they made itr as spicy as I wanted it. Guys are super nice. Please patronize! Every thing is delicious and their spin on Korean food is wonderful.

Had the chicken rice bowl. It was sensational. I would give these guys a 5 star but the wait after ordering my food was about 20 minutes and the portion was fairly small.

They came to Brooklyn and didn’t disappoint. I had the bulgogi rice burger. This is Korean fusion and it’s their interpretation. The burger was a tasty juicy surprise, in a great way. Looking forward to try everything else on their menu!

I have been told by multiple people to try Bob and Jo’s but haven’t come across the truck until today. I am little surprised there aren’t more reviews, not sure why. Anyway, the food here was fantastic. I had a pork bibimbap burrito and a side of dumplings(only $ 9 and made my afternoon of work sleepy). I didn’t think anything in the burrito individually was all that special but everything together was a huge surprise. The burrito had pork, rice, lettuce, some pickled veggies, seaweed and some other stuff. I’m no Korean food expert so I wouldn’t necessarily easy all of these things together but man do they work in symphony. There was a hint of sweet and spiciness through out and it was was plain great. I will definitely go back and next time I am hoping they have the short rib people have clamored to me about.

Alright here is the skinny, excellent korean food bring served off of food cart. I’ve eaten here a couple of times, guys who run the truck take great pride in high quality food ingredients. So if there is any hesitancy to get korean food(or food in general) from a cart/truck, forget about it. I’ve had both the bugolgi and short rib, perfectly cooked. Comes with delicious rice, what appear to be pickled onions, and some sauce on top. Also korean bbq sauce on side. Bimibop healthy alternative and more like bimibop atop salad. If you like korean or food in general please do try. Outstanding.

**This review is for the Bob & Jo Express Cart, which has a different menu than their larger truck** I was lured in when I saw a woman walk away from this tiny cart with a giant, GIANT bowl of ramen. Perfect for a chilly day. As someone who frequents Toto Ramen and Ramen Setagaya, I have to say that this ramen was nowhere near that level. I suspect the noodles were the pre-packaged kind you can buy at the store for fifty cents. But I was impressed by the number and variety of toppings – mushrooms, corn, spinach, carrots, lettuce(lettuce??), a hard boiled egg. The meat was perfectly seasoned and delicious(I got the chicken). The people who work here are super nice. They were giving out samples, and they let the guy next to me try several different things when he wasn’t sure what to get. I sat down on a bench nearby to eat mine, and when I got up to leave(probably 45 minutes later) one of the guys came over and offered to throw out my trash for me. Extra points for customer service!
