Do NOT eat here! Barely $ 3 worth of food for $ 10! Tastes mediocre. Dont waste your time or money!

They came to Brooklyn and didn’t disappoint. I had the bulgogi rice burger. This is Korean fusion and it’s their interpretation. The burger was a tasty juicy surprise, in a great way. Looking forward to try everything else on their menu!

The $ 10 Bi Bim Bowl($ 8 + $ 2 for added tofu — silken, uncooked) was very underwhelming. Aside from the mushrooms, none of the other vegetables seemed seasoned at all. Traditionally, they are sautéed with sesame oil and comes hot over rice. All the(scant) vegetables came cold over romaine with a side of cold brown rice with no lid. The egg was also hardboiled; typically the best part about bibimbap is the cooked runny poached egg you mix. There was also no spinach in sight despite the menu indicating otherwise. No utensils or napkins were included as well. Pass.

Just had my first Bob & Jo experience*. I set sail on this maiden voyage with a bulgogi sandwich. Roughly the size of a cruise ship, the sandwich was comprised of bulgogi(Korean shredded beef), sweet and sour onions, iceberg lettuce, cucumber slices, and a garlic-paprika aioli. This was all stuffed into a chewy-crusted hero roll. The beef was fresh and cooked well. It was a little«one note» in terms of seasoning but was nicely enhanced by the crunchy cucumbers and aioli. The guys working the truck were quite gracious: they enthusiastically offered me samples, took great care with my order, and even gave me a free bottle of water to calm my palate from the spicy chicken sample(it’s spicy!). I’m not sure if I’ll have the bulgogi again but I would certainly go back to try the galbi(barbecue short ribs.. . they had run out by the time I got there). * = Truck was parked in the Financial District(still spelling it out) today.

If you want to eat somewhere more then once a week, it deserves a 4 star rating. You can not miss with the pork belly rice platter. The pork is cooked to perfection, the sauce is amazing — mixed with the rice you have a knock out meal. Find their location(as they change day to day) either on Twitter or where many food trucks can be found in NYC. It’s important to note, they draw a line, so either come just before noon, or after 2pm. With that said, the line does move pretty quickly, and they are quite efficient with their process to ensure the line never gets too out of control. It’s cash only — come with a credit card and leave dissapointed.

Korean fast food truck… c’mon now =) I’ve only had the platters — I’ve tried the galbi, pork, chicken, and bulgogi platters. The galbi took some time to make but it was surprisingly good, all their meats are tender and flavorful(yes, the meats have their share of oil, but we’re talking food trucks here). The kimchee is not real kimchee(got the radish part right, they must’ve forgotten the red pepper part) and their rice is like all food-truck rice(not sticky), but for their marinated meat, this is no doubt good food-truck food.

I’ve seen the Bob & Jo truck often enough, but finally decided to try it this week. With little expectation, I wasn’t sure what to get… until I overheard someone saying the dumplings and chicken ramen were good. Since it was freezing, the ramen sounds pretty damn amazing and WARM. Plus, there is a ramen + dumpling combo, so the decision was pretty easy. The dumplings came in an order of 4 on top of a small bed of lettuce. There wasn’t any dumpling sauce, but the dressing for the lettuce went pretty well with it. Wish there was some sort of hot sauce for the dumplings though. The presentation of the chicken ramen was so pretty and colorful! The ramen came with spicy chicken, bean sprouts, watercress, scallions, carrots, bamboo shoots, and half an egg. A lot of food for lunch! But definitely did the trick and warmed me right up. Would definitely try other items on the menu.

I really wanted to love this food and will attempt it again at some point in future. Unfortunately, the bulgogi in their ‘platter’ was chock full of fatty gristle and the kimchi was incredibly bland. Having lived in Korea for several years, I am slightly biased, but the ‘fusion’ aspect of this foodline leaves a bit to be desired. I must say that the dumplings were absolutely delightful, but they’ll have to be careful about keeping them soft and fresh throughout the day.
