Vegan friendly restaurant. The grilled veggie sandwich was excellent and their Mediterranean(no cheese) pizza was great as well. Highly recommend this place for vegans.

Seated immediately with reservations. Great view of World Trade Center. Service was extremely quick and very attentive. The Pizza’s — Pepperoni, El Greco, and Vodka were spectacular and all amazingly unique. We split the 3 pies and a salad for my family of 5. Highly recommend — make sure you have reservations.

We came here for our annual office holiday lunch. Traditionally, the office has headed to a place on Stone Street called Beckett’s, which year after year turned out inedible sandwiches and salads at erratic intervals and with truly abominable service. Pretty much anywhere would be an improvement, and certainly Blue Planet is a notch or two better than that disaster. That’s not to say I’d recommend coming here if you were paying on your own dime. To start with, a couple of the better beers on draft were kicked on this particular day. My waiter offered me Stella as an alternative. I know this is the Financial District, but please. This being the holidays, I sampled my way through a throughly gluttonous amount of food — a nice and crisp plate of calamari, a chunky and unseasoned steak tartar, a not-easily-shareable bit of eggplant and fresh mozzarella, a throughly mediocre bowl of clam chowder and finally a prime rib pizza which about as much sense to eat as it does reading the combination of ingredients not the menu. None of this was offensive — well, the steak tartare came close — but nothing really stood out either. Credit to the friendly, prompt service. Even with dealing with a party of nearly 30 they kept the drinks coming and didn’t make a single mistake. But this personality-less restaurant with undistinguished food has little to recommend to it. When you have a choice, consider other alternatives.

This is a great restaraunt if you are looking for Italian food/pizza. Today for brunch I had The French toast with strawberries and glaze. I would recommend this brunch food for people who love sweet stuff. Also I had a coffee. The coffee’s here are also really great!

The owner and staff are very nice and the food is good. The prices are very reasonable for NYC. If you are downtown and looking for a good(brick oven baked) pizza, sandwich or pasta, it’s the go-to place. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu but am sure it meets the same standard. I love this place, and go there all the time.

Nice brunch spot near the WTC site. Omelette was tasty, bagels and lox were very good, not bunch of a coffee/drink selection for brunch/breakfast, but reasonably priced and tasty.

Hello teenage-pop… As good as the kale-stew was, it’s kind if hard to enjoy with Katy perry and the likes blaring out… in winter it gets cold cos if the draft from door and windows. The seats are quiet cosy and with gold covers definitely something different ;) The fried-smell of the kitchen waving in is a little unpleasant and the pizzas have this very dense base, not crispy Italian, how I usually like it. The talipia-sandwich is, especially at half the price of a pizza, a good option with plenty of fish in it, roasted bell peppers, lettuce and tomato. Don’t expect too much of the service here.

Delicious food, affordable and unique menu, great service, and overall an incredible value! I don’t know how this place is only 3.5 stars. When you walk into the restaurant, the vibe and atmosphere you’re greeted with is cordial and friendly. The hostess is always smiling and the waiters /bartenders are all extremely nice. You’d expect to see menu prices all north of the mid teen dollars, but they are actually very reasonably priced. The delicious flatbread sandwiches which are more than filling are less than $ 10, and the pizzas and other brunch items are good value as well. I got the prosciutto flatbread sandwich with eggplant and mozzarella. My biggest criterion for sandwich evaluation is the filling-to-bread ratio, and Blue Planet Grill does not skimp at all. There is WAYMORE filling than there is bread, and it was definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Even the breading, which I usually could care less about, was really good. It was essentially like pizza dough, and was warm, crisp, yet chewy at the same time — fantastic texture and taste. Wish there was a bit more olive oil in the sandwich, but the immense amount of fresh prosciutto and mozzarella, and well-cooked eggplant combined for an amazing taste. Would definitely come back for more!

Great, friendly staff, great food! We ordered a pizza and the brick chicken, and both were excellent! The missing star is only personal preference, for not having sweet-n-low for the iced tea, and not serving Coca Cola!

Really enjoy going to this place, almost every week. Really wish they would consider reducing their prices, they seem to be much higher than a standard pizza place. If they dropped prices, I’d go a lot more.

Who says there are no good eats near Wall St? Really really solid slices here. A little on the pricier side but the brick oven is very solid.

Stay away! Worst restaurant ever. $ 15 «special of the day» grilled octopus had 3 measly overcooked pieces of charred octopus and 3 cherry tomatoes halved. Shitty fish tacos. Frier oil needs to be replaced and cleaned. The oil in the fish smelled oxidized. Dangerous Pizza was a rip off. Slow to come from the oven.(Is there a reason they waited until all 3 were done to bring to the table? 2 pies went cold while waiting for the 3rd pie to finish. The toppings sucked too. They just dump truffle oil to mask any real pizza essence. And useless wait staff roaming around chatting except being attentive to the guests. Guess this place is only good for those poor souls who go hungry while sightseeing ground zero. Avoid at all cost. Terrible. #iwanarefund

Dropped by for a quick lunch and came away unimpressed. Although the service was good and the food came fast, the pizza was undercooked and too doughy. Didn’t stay long so not much more to write really. Don’t think we will be back.

Vendetta Pizza was good. The waiter was nice but not overly friendly. This would be a good place to go if you wanted a bite and were by the 9⁄11 museum but other than that I probably wouldn’t go back. It was about $ 15 for a 10 inch pie and $ 4 for the tiniest glass of diet coke I’ve ever had. Overall just okay, but pizza is decent.

This was probably in the top 5 dining experiences of my whole life! Completely obsessed with this place. A friend and I were in NYC for about 36 hours. We wanted to see and do it all and Blue Planet Grill helped with that. Since it was right outside of the Freedom Tower, I was a little skeptical because I thought the amount of business they had was due to the gorgeous view right outside of their windows. Then I got their«Signature Pizza». Undoubtedly the BESTPIZZA I’ve had in my entire life!!! Perfection. The truffle oil, the arugula, the prosciutto. just delicious!!! Our waiter was SO. SWEET! I believe his name was Alex. My friend and I had been walking around all day so we were downing our water pretty quickly. Alex very subtly refilled our water every time it got to be half way down. The service was impeccable! Altogether, absolutely could not be more pleased with this place. I want to return to NYC so I can have this experience all over again!

Meh. Came here for dinner with my dad and wasn’t overly impressed. He started with a salad and I started with the New England clam chowder. It was just alright. For entrée, I got the margherita pizza and he got the chicken under the brick. The pizza was average, but the chicken was very good and tasty. It was also a really nice and big portion. The ambiance was not pleasant to me. We were kind of squished in a corner and the music was blaring techno beats really loudly. Not exactly the kind of music I want when dining with Pops… not that he can hear all that well these days… Till our next dinner!

Very disappointed. We were walking the city on Friday mid day and decided to head over to the 911 memorial. We saw Blue Planet Grill and I decided to Unilocal it to get a feel for ratings and experience of other members. After few minutes of glancing over the reviews we decided to come in. We didn’t have reservations and upon entering we saw quite a few people waiting, we were going to find a small pizza place in the area but we were assured by the hostess it would only be about 5 – 10 minutes. We waited… 10 minutes later I ask the young girl where were we at on the wait. She advised me to please give her 10 more min… We said ok… 10 minutes later, we were told another 5 minutes… We look at each other again and said fine, 10 minutes later we were seated. We were seated… Yep just seated… about 8 minutes pass, no water, no place mats which other patrons had, no silverware, not even a courtesy«give me a moment and I will be right with you» Finally a heavy set young male dressed in all black comes as asks us if we are ready to order? Really? I asked him for a menu… He chuckled and asked us if we were in a hurry? I said we would like to eat, he told us to give us a minute he would give us a menu and collect a check. I guess taking the check to clear a table and get another guest in was more important than attending to the current guest you have? Finally a man dressed in a suit asked us if we been helped. We explained what has happened and he apologized and gave us menu’s and brought us water. I asked about the check in Unilocal offer which was 15% off any pizza. He advised the offer was valid and applied to any pizza. My girlfriend ordered a margarita pizza and I ordered a signature pizza. Let me tell you, the product is amazing, the pizza was this place saving grace for a two star rating because the story continues. As for the pizza, it was amazing, My pizza had so much flavor and the truffle gave it a unique and appealing flavor and taste. The arugula and salty prosciutto gave it plate appeal with a flavor burst of taste. Good Job on the Pizza. So we are eating… I understand this is the time servers have to do some of there other tasks, get drinks, update there ticket, haste the kitchen, what ever it is… But the cubby server didn’t even pass by to check on our water or if we would like anything else to eat. I had to slurp on my straw for it to make noise to draw attention and shake the ice in my glass to make noise, I called him over and went to take an order of a party of 5… «Bigger Tippers over there I guess« We didn’t get a refill on our water, we didn’t get asked if we wanted anything else, not even dessert or coffee. Just our bill… Very bad experience and I would not come here again nor would I recommend this restuarant to someone who would like pizza in this area. Service and accommodation is just as important as the product. If I could ask for a refund I would, nevertheless I still tipped over average for the poor service.

After searching for a place that was open following a late morning visit to the 9⁄11 Memorial site, my friends and I were excited to find the doors to the Blue Planet Grill open and inviting. Simply looking for a couple of drinks, we made our way over to the bar area and settled into our comfy, backed high top chairs. The bartender was very friendly and was quick to hand us drink menus as we gazed around the warm interior of this restaurant to partake in the interesting artwork adorning its walls. Following the usual look of surprise in comparing my young appearance with my actual age, I ordered a Lindeman’s Framboise that was served to me in the appropriate flute glass with my bottle on the side to enjoy what remained. The others in our group ordered vodka and whiskey based drinks and seemed as pleased as I with our selection. Our time was spent watching employees conscientiously bake pizzas in the brick oven nearby and chatting with our personable bartender. He swapped stories with us about the origins and makings of various liquors and appeared genuinely interested in our impressions of the drinks, etc. Though we did not eat here, it was a pleasant experience sipping on some drinks. If I lived in the area, I would probably give the pizza a shot… it certainly looked delicious as it was delivered to each table. Give the bathrooms a try… the wavy blue glass/tile walls are pretty psychedelic!

This place was absolutely delicious. This was my first time in New York with my family and I had no idea where to eat. Since we ended at the World Trade Center as our last stop, we decided to give this place a shot. We ordered a fried calamari as our appetizer. It was really different from the other types of fried calamari we’ve had elsewhere because it was black and with a very tasteful sauce. It didn’t seem like there was the normal fried breadcrumb or tempura mix. Starting off with my brother: He ordered a Beef Stroganoff. The beef was tender, flavorful, rich, and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were smooth and definitely hearty with a great portion. My mom: She ordered the sautéed tilapia. It was soft like butter and melted right into your mouth. It was absolutely delicious. My dad: He ordered the shrimp fettuccini. The mesh of flavors from the shrimp and the garlic were melodious. It wasn’t overly oily or watery. The pasta was a perfect al dente and the shrimp was fresh and crisp to the bite. My order: I ordered the Beef Wellington with foie gras medium rare. The filet mignon was a PERFECT medium rare, the steak fresh and buttery. The foie gras added a great flavor to the steak and pastry exterior which was fluffy, buttery, and delicious. It wasn’t overly flakey nor was it doughy and undercooked. The side of mashed potatoes were also hearty and delicious. For dessert: We got the keylime tart and chocolate and vanilla gelato. These blew us out of our seats. The keylime tart was sweet and tangy with a hint if nutmeg in the crust. It was perfectly balanced; not too sour. It was rich but not overly sweet, so still light. As for the gelato, it was really nice and thick but also light and tasteful. The flavors and texture were amazing. This restaurant looks a little shabby from the outside but its a whole different experience from the inside. The waitresses were really on top of their service and the manager was amazingly nice. Because we didnt want to sit in the taller booths, he opened a reserved spot for us. He also came around and chatted with us, checking up on our meals. He even ended up giving the entire table moscato with our dessert(this was on the house). Service and ambience was impeccable. The only thing that would have made me want to rate it a little less would be the restrooms. It was a little small and shabby and just a tad smelly and dirty. However, it doesnt detract at all from the overall experience we had in this restaurant. This place is a must come and I will definitely come back to this place on my next visit to New York.

This was a quick decision which turned into a discovery of a cool place. Their menu is simple yet has lots of variety. Their seasoned fries are VERY good, you should definitely get them. I had the lentil soup which was ok. It was under seasoned and I had to put lots of black pepper. My friend had the sausage pizza which was really good. The sausage was home made and had great flavor. I would come back to Blue Planet, but probably as a last resort.
