It gets better. Still haven’t heard back from Dr. Maclaren, so I was calling to inform him that he is in complete violation of HIPPA, and that if I don’t hear back by close of business today I will have my attorney stop by tomorrow. But after a number of rings the phone went to voicemail, and stated the voicemail is not set up to take messages. It keeps getting better. So I try again in 15 minutes and the receptionist says they’ve been having issues with Verizon. Which completely explains the inability to leave a message, but does not take away from the fact I spoke to someone there four previous times(at least) and now a fifth. She was very apologetic, even though she didn’t need to be because I’m sure she relayed the message. She personally assured me that I would hear back by the end of the day — so to the kind woman who took my call at around 9:30 this morning — thank you! Funny what happens when you notify a doctor that he is in violation of HIPPA. Would you believe he called me back within 10 minutes of my call? Started the conversation with«I hear you are looking to sue me». Which shows you what the trigger was, not concern for my well-being, but concern for his. I explained I called at least four times previously and never heard back. He mentioned the Verizon issues, I explained to him that has nothing to do with me talking to his staff at least four times previously. Then he proceeds to tell me they never got the results, asks for the lab and tells me he will look into it for me, but«that there are plenty of other doctors in the city that would be more available to me». More available? Here’s a newsflash, most doctors worth a shit have crazy schedules, but I’ve never had to call five times(over the course of six weeks) to try and get a result. He called me back within 3 minutes — I guess the results he didn’t receive magically appeared? No apology. All this doctor did was try to blame everyone else. He may be a great doctor, but this episode showed me a side I have no interest in being associated with.
