Cold beer on stone street in a hot clear Friday! Nothing could measure. Place is very nice, excellent location and superb service. Vast selection of beer/liquor and good section of snacks. Little pricy but totally worth it

Good beer, food is pretty basic. Ordered a hot sausage and it was nothing too special. Service was good. They outside area is very nice.

This is the place to be when you want a taste of Germany. The stone street location makes it busy, I suggest reservations for dinner Friday/Saturday night. The Bavarian fries were memorable! It’s similar to really good beef stew on fries, an absolute must. The pretzel is HUGE and each bite is more delicious than the next. Had the beer«flight», choosing from a selection of about 30 beers on tap. Great spot for a night out with friends… Keep in mind the crowd will be quite young given the location.

Went here to catch up with my cousin, who has apparently been working in the same part of town as me. Went for lunch on a school day, and we both got the Bavarian Fries(sans sour cream for me). Basically, these were regular old fries that were topped with beef stew w/gravy, a sunny-side-up egg, and a dollop of sour cream(again, skipped the last part). Sounds pretty good yeah? The actual fries were nice and crunchy. I could tell they were fresh since they nearly burned the roof of my mouth off. The egg was a nicely cooked sunny-side. The beef stew w/gravy though? Tasted like the kind of stuff that you would get out of a can; and the stew also had potatoes in it… so stewed potatoes on top of french fried potatoes? Sounds a bit redundant in the potato department. Plus, the sodium content in the stew/gravy was wayy up there… I could pretty much feel my fingers blowing up. Was my dish edible? Sure(there wasn’t any cheese on it, so prima facie edible). But with an asking price of $ 12 for such a modest portion… the flavors better be there. Sadly, this dish just didn’t do it for me, and I’m sure the motherland of Bavaria won’t be too happy to hear that this spot did anything but a stellar job on a time honored(?) dish from the old country.

I found this to be one of the highlights of the Stone Street district. Rich, Bavarian atmosphere — the place certainly looks the part when it comes to delivering the«German beer hall» feel. As for the beers themselves, I found them to be quite good. The beers were all«true-to-style» — which means the flavor and malt/hop balance was exactly as it should be, depending on what beer you were drinking. I find that a lot of American brewers can’t resist the temptation to add more hops than required(or the wrong hops) to their recipes — trying to make everything somehow reminiscent of an IPA. The brewers have enough knowledge and integrity to ensure that your weiss, doppelbock, helles, dunkel or marzen tastes the way it’s supposed to. A nice variety on tap. We did not eat here — though the menu looked extensive, and the dishes that we did see appeared to be tasty and substantial-looking. Service was excellent, though the place was not that busy while we were there — and while you will never catch me in lederhosen, I will never complain about a barmaid or waitress in a tight dirndl…

Located within the infamous Stone Street row of bars, Bavaria is a great spot for happy hour after work in the FiDi. Having been to Bavaria during different times of the year, it can either be extremely crowded or close to empty. On Thursdays in the Spring and Summer this place is packed indoors and outdoors! When the weather is not so nice on weekdays, it can be a bit on the empty side. You kind of get the flow when you pass by Stone Street. If there are no people in a drunken stupor then all of the bars are close to dead and you’ll easily get a seat after work. Anyhow, the bar has a large outdoor space on Stone Street, which is marked by it’s traditional blue and white colors. On the insde, the bar is HUGE! It has multiple floors and plenty of bar space. On the day our group sat inside, it was empty from 4:30−6pm. We came here for a post-work happy hour and there was barely a soul, mostly due to the dreadful weather. Service is typically good here and it was great when we were the only party that day. We ordered 32 liter boots of Bitburger beer and plenty of food. The beer was great and the food was even better! Everyone in our party LOVED the food. Specifically, we ordered multiple dishes of the following: BUFFALOCHICKENWINGS Great buffalo sauce flavor! Meat was tender and it came with a side of carrot and celery sticks. BUTTEREDJUMBOPRETZELWITHMUSTARD The name says it all. Yes, it was a JUMBO pretzel and it did fine without the mustard, but was even better with it! CHICKENSCHNITZEL The schnitzel was perfect. Breaded perfectly and it was a good size. Having tried schnitzel in Germany, this one was a bit smaller than expected. The potato salad under the schnitzel was excellent too. BAVARIANFRIES(MINUSTHEBEEFSTEW, FRIEDEGGANDSOURCREAM) Since some of our group was vegetarian, we went without the beef stew and additions. We had plain ol’ fries and they were great! They were very crispy and they were exactly how I like them. Each dish was excellent and exactly what we needed with our alcohol! I haven’t been to all of the bars on Stone Street, but Bavaria is definitely one of the more popular spots in the row and, undoubtedtly a great choice for happy hour!

I have yet to visit here on my own but I attended a holiday party here and LOVED it. Solid environment and friendly staff however the food makes this place a home run. Everything I tried was delicious. I honestly did not know that potato salad could be this delicious.

I had the Bavarian spicy burger with a side salad and a beer recommended by the waitress. Our server was really nice and didn’t mind my friend and I staying to chat after we finished eating. The burger wasn’t amazing but it was well cooked and well portioned.

I liked this place a lot. Great atmosphere and German beers to choose from. Some of the food is German, not as much as claimed on the menu. Got their hot pretzel as a snack that was good but had entirely too much butter on it, which was disappointing because the texture was perfect. They have an ample tap selection with a wide array of sizes to choose from, including boots which was exiting. I got their German cider which was really good. Worth checking out.

The décor is lovely and very authentic and the bar area inside is full of wood and quite large. Nice menu, kind of a modern German flair. Not really old school German. It is priced in the range of the Stone Street area, which is a lovely street and area to dine in. Entrees just over 20 dollars. After all 12 inch pizza’s in this area top 20. Try German. And yes they have spaetzle.

Came across this place to serve as shelter from the bitter cold. Good tap beers(though, admittedly, I know little about beer and am not an avid drinker) and the food was yummy(on food, I am an expert :)). Enjoyed the smoked pork sausage, the chicken wings(really good!) and the fresh pretzel(also shockingly good). The sauerkraut was meh, and I didn’t love the veal sausage. Would recommend!

If you’re a beer lover and looking for a good one on Stone Street, this is definitely the place to go. They have a pretty expansive menu of German Beers, so you’re likely to find a flavor you like. Prices are also decent with a ½ litre running about $ 8. The food here, though, is not anything to write home about. My friends had the burgers and I had the veggie sandwich. We all agreed that it was decent, but underwhelming. Service and atmosphere are both OK as well. Servers were knowledgeable on the beer menu, but they never offered us water and didn’t check on the table all too much. Seating is outdoor and indoor, but no matter what you choose, it’ll be cramped. We were also asked to move at one point, so they could get to a fuse box behind us. I’m not an expert on restaurant layouts, but I don’t think it’s terribly efficient to seat people next to an area you need to access constantly… but what do i know. Overall, the only time i’ll come back here for a post-work drink with friends

Horrible food, they have a sauce on the steak. You can tell it’s not a quality steak. Expensive burger and you can get the same quality almost at Burger king. Very small sausages compare to the rest of the beergardern’s in town. Positive: if I have to give a rating for beer size definitely a 5 starts, they have a good size for beer, large glasses ½ liter even a 1 liter and more. So kudos on the beer side.

We’ve walked by this area in the past and never stopped in any of the bars. Decided to stop in Bavaria. Cool atmosphere. Large selection of beers. Good prices. $ 8 for ½ liter of beer.

Friendly, patient waitress for the 1am bar hopping crowd. Really interesting beer selections, enjoyed our night cap with a reasonably priced flight. Can’t comment on the food but after coming from stone street it was nice to find a place where our group could actually hear each other to have a conversation.

Estragou o prato!!! Outra coisa a garçonete foi distraída!!! Mas de resto estava bom!

Came here for HH last. Have to say the food was pretty terrible. The only decent thing was the buffalo wings. If it’s not obvious, stick to beer and stay away from the cocktails. The friends I was with had their hearts set on mixed drinks which came out tasting pretty disgusting. Only reason I chose to not give 2 stars is because it is located on stone street which automatically adds a fantastic ambience.

Came here with a friend after work on a Monday and we were able to snag a spot outside on Stone St. I love the fun outdoor atmosphere with lights and flags overhead. I ordered the smoked pork«dog,» which was a smoked pork sausage on a pretzel bun with mustard, onions, and a bbq sauce. It also came with a fresh and tasty mixed greens salad. Plus the service was friendly. All in all, a positive experience!

Stopped by here with a couple of co-workers during lunch and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty all the food was. I usually don’t have high expectations for beer houses in terms of their food because most people just come here for a couple of drinks. The highlight of the meal has got to be the Bavarian Fries. It consists of fries(which by itself is already really good), topped with beef stew and then a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. Once you pop the egg yolk and it seeps onto the fries mixed with the stew — it becomes heaven. I’m still thinking about those fries a week after we’ve had it. Then I had the Skirt Steak for the entrée which had a pretty tasty sauce and the potatoes that came with it was very good as well. My only complain is maybe I’m just not a great fan of the skirt steak it seems a bit more chewy than my usual preference of filet.

Came here for an event with financial people. The venue itself is awesome & has great décor. The food I had at the event wasn’t bad and the water I had was good. Perhaps this is a place you could go during happy hour to meet a hot guy. Just saying there were some cute ones here.

On a recent visit to the German Beer House, on Stone Street, I was impressed by the cuisine, as well as the extensive and impressive beer list. However, the good times were marred by an incident. As I went to use the ladies room, a man made inappropriate gestures of a sexual nature. When I pointed this out to management, rather than taking the side of a woman, zero tolerance, inappropriate, management appeared to defend the perpetrator of the nasty acts and engaged in a verbal tirade against me. Even though the man may have been a regular or good customer, it does not excuse his actions and management’s inaction. It was not what I had bargained for, in having an after work cocktail to unwind and relax. Management should re-examine their priorities.
