I ordered the bison burger here and they cooked it for me so if you want your meats done a certain way… try to see if they’ll let you specify cuz I’m not sure. ANYWAY. I came on Unilocal because I wanted to talk about my risky order of the hot honey vanilla milkshake and oh my gosh. Zero regrets. It tasted like vanilla and you could really taste the honey flavor and a spicy note lingering in the back of your throat… it was a dream. The bison burger I got was really good too with cheddar and smoke sauce. Everything went well together.
Go try this place out. So many options here! Wait time to order took a while so order ahead if you want to save time. Wait time after our orders were made was pretty decent I’d say.

We dropped in for dinner, after checking out the menu. We weren’t disappointed!
Hand made juicy burgers, tasty fries and a varied menu. Their drinks menu is good, some unique cocktails that had something for all tastes. Not a cheap meal, but friendly prompt service and overall good food.

Made to order burgers– better than shake shack. The toppings can add up though.
I got the made-​to-​order bare burger (beef medium rare) on brioche bun with duck bacon, guca, habanero mayo (basically chipotle mayo), mushrooms, and onions. The bacon, guac, mushroom, and mayo cost extra (no more than $ 1.50 each but it varies). The toppings I feel like make everything Decent quality burger. I ordered online and the fastest I could pick it up was in 25min (not bad at all).
Honestly the gourmet burger is pretty good. Better than shack shake but is prob on the same par as 5 napkins BUT you can def get more toppings here. My burger cost around ~19 including tax. For a gourmet burger in NYC I feel like it is pretty decent. Good meat but pricey toppings.

I realized I am very picky with hamburgers, I need good meat, good ingredients, good sides and I don‘t need it to be too fancy or original. I had a lot of expectations for Bareburger, I like the fact that they use only the best ingredients, meats, grains, etc, and I really think they have a lot of different hamburgers other than the more traditional taste, and you can choose many different meats.
The place was big and welcoming, though it was almost empty at 11:30 on saturday (probably too early). Staff was fast to take our order and bring our food. The place was not super clean, but OK.
My hamburger, the turkey one «Socal», was not bad for a turkey hamburger, juicy, I loved the bread. However, the guacamole was not fresh (it was brownish in color), it was not so tasty, and I saw a small hair attached to the hamburger :/​…
My husband‘s burger was better, the «supreme», more traditional with the onion rings on top.
Overall… I know this place is famous and I respect their concept, so if I come back to NYC I might give it another try, in a different location though, I think I was maybe unlucky with my choice of burger and place that day, but clean and freshness of igredients is a MUST for any place serving food.

Ordered delivery through their website. Burger, sweet potato fries and chicken tenders.
It arived after 1 hour 15 minutes (I live 6 minutes away).
The boxes were cold and wet. The food was hard inside. And cold. The fries were wet. The chicken tenders were like rocks. And dry.
The flavour of the burger was good, until I bit into a piece of gristle which was 3 inches long and 1 inch thick. No kidding. See pic. The meat was the sesame beef.
Utterly utterly disappointed. I can only guess that the dining experience is better in person, rather than delivery, given the fantastic reviews.

My favorite burger in the city (and I’ve tried A LOT). Juicy, organic, healthy, light, soooo tasty. I can’t wait to come back.
Tried the Socal… Geez so freaking good. And the ambiance is AMAZING. So much personality. Go bareburger!

Went here twice. First time I had a reg beef burger with tomato/​ketchup/​mushroom/​pickle + an order of sweet potato fries. 2^nd time I had their korean beef style «burger»
The sweet potato fries were fine. Large portion.
Burger was very juicy. Mushrooms were excellent.
The guy noted the second time that the Korean beef was not exactly a patty. I personally didn’t mind. The taste was good though I did find a good amount of the beef to be a bit chewy so it was a bit harder to eat that burger.
I can see why people like this mini-​chain. Though it is a bit pricey.

This place is a bit pretentious (The Chain) — You have a choice of ten rolls or so, none of which did i recognize. I told him to put my beef burger on the most normal regular roll they had.
At any rate the sandwich had a foreign taste to it-​like they had put onions or some other stuff in the meat-​not bad but just something more than good red meat. I asked the waiter and he assured me nothing was added to the meat. I eat my burgers absolutely plain so when there is an additional taste in there i taste it. I think it may have come from being cooked next to some onions or peppers but I am not sure.
I was pretty disappointed that their French Fries were frozen. Many run of the mill places in Manhattan serve fresh fries which even if cooked badly are better than any frozen fry anywhere.
The menu is difficult to decipher. I had no idea what my meal was gong to cost. Burger and fries-​no drink $ 16.10. Not bad for Manhattan at all.

Okay I have been here 3 times already in a week time so it is time to review already ! :)
SoOooOo Uniqueee, So Fresh, So organic and sooo goooood !
Like 2 minutes walking distance to where I work so I feel blessed :) The interior design is so colorful and cute. Framed animal photos on the walls are like a family tree, might make you feel like go vegan. But it is only until you get your burger on the table.
I have tried the «Buckaroo «the first time, aged cheddar, mushrooms, beef, the bread, in such a harmony. Love it! Their draft menu is so rich. They have wine too but I have tried 3 different beer each visit and loved them all, still Ambita Amber is my favorite. I tried Supreme burger with onion rings on the top too but it was only okay compared to Buckaroo.
The given chance to create your own burger is another reason to choose the Bareburger. They have a vegan option called «Farmstead «and it looks so different when you get it in a green wrap. I had a bite and liked it.
The staff is quite friendly. They make sure you enjoy what you eat. There is detailed information about every single offering in the menu. They have desserts such as milk shakes and ice cream cookies.
A lot to tell but I leave the rest of the experience to you :)

Trendy, expensive, supposedly all healthy ingredient burger chain.
Their menu even include what sort of oil is being used for frying. I highly respect their determination.
Ordered:
El Matador — the waiter did not ask for my meat preference. But it did come out juicy, medium rare. I likey. Ordered a side of sweet fries (sweet potato). Guacamole, pickled jalapenos. all very delicious and satisfying.
French Toast with side of maple sausage, egg, and french fries — maple sausage became rock solid a little later. The scrambled egg was not scrambled egg. Good thing we ordered to have 1 sunny side, which came out to be a normal sunny side.
The bill came out to $ 38 plus tip. Not so friendly. But that’s bareburger experience for you.

Came here with my boyfriend a few weeks ago, since we both had heard good things about the place. We started with the buffalo chicken bites and both had the standard burger.
Our «starter» came out just a minute before the burgers, which is a pet peeve of mine. The buffalo chicken bites were soggy. Almost seems like they had been reheated from the night before. The burger was undistinguished.
Two stars for the pleasant service and the environment, but the food was very disappointing. I will not be back.

Bareburger is hands-​down my favorite moderately-​priced burger place (much prefer it to Shake Shack)! My fave thing about this place is that I can pick whatever toppings I want to include on it without being limited to only a few choices!
The onion rings and french fries here are to die for. The onion rings are huge and crunchy — I also love them on my burgers. The french fries are also delicious and comes with a pairing of three dipping sauces. I usually get these to start with!
My go-​to is a beef burger on a brioche bun (yum) with pepperjack, lettuce, and tomato and their smoke sauce. YUMMY. Burger is aways juicy and flavorful, bun is always soft and rich, veggies always fresh, and the smoke sauce adding just the kick I need to make it the BEST BURGER EVER.

I got here around 1245 on a Saturday afternoon and decided to sit outside. I think they might’ve forgotten about me because it took 25 minutes to come take my order. I decided to build my own burger so I got the beef with a brioche bun pepper jack cheese spinach pickles red onions habanero aioli and a side of onion rings and sweet potato fries. Food took quite some time to come out but it was delicious. I probably wouldn’t order the onion rings again because they were too breaded and had a grainy aftertaste.
The menu is large and there are plenty of patty options like elk, duck, bison and veggie. And they do have alcoholic beverages as well

Was really excited to try this place, as it’s right in my neighborhood and seemed to have great reviews both on Unilocal and from friends. Went with my girlfriend for dinner on a weeknight.
The menu is extremely large. Decent size list of apps and salads, then an absolute ton of burger options where you can customize everything from the type of burger (beef, duck, boar, elk, etc.), to the sauce on it. As it was our first time, we wanted to stick to something basic. We both got one of the standard burgers that came with grilled onions, colby and special sauce (comes with pickles, but asked for none). To split we also got the buffalo chicken bites.
The burgers were good, but nothing particularly special. My girlfriend ask for hers to be medium, however there didn’t seem to be a hint of pink in the patty — not a huge deal for her, but a little frustrating nonetheless. I thought mine was fine, but seemed as though this was the type of place to load up on toppings, or try something different. The buffalo chicken bites were disappointing. Soggy breading and tough meat. The blue cheese dressing was delicious though, so a little bit of a trade off there.
Overall, it was a tiny bit disappointing, but I was satisfied with my meal, and will probably be back to try some other things (i.e. I didn’t even realize their great beer selection until I was done with dinner!).

This is a great lunch spot! What’s particularly nice about this place is everything is organic from the meat to the dairy. Also, their burger selection is quite unique. Aside from meat, they offer ostrich, bison, lamb, boar, and turkey. I wasn’t feeling very adventurous, so I just settled with a turkey burger in a lettuce wrap instead of bread (healthy substitute). It was quite delicious– especially with the avocado. Oh, and I had to order fries because nothing is complete without fries. Those were pretty tasty! My other guest ordered the banana foster milkshake and loved it! He was happy he ordered the large. For his meal, he settled with the Supreme. It must have been supreme because he finished it all! By the end of our meal, we were very satisfied… especially knowing the food we were consuming is better for you.

Average fries and horrible ginormous onion rings than can be worn as a choker around my neck! The burger is nice. The sauces were not quite developed, good idea but not executed well. Sorry Bareburger but you didn’t win my stomach!

I can’t fathom why this place has 4 stars. First, they wouldn’t seat me without my friend there. I understand many restaurants’ policy on this, but this place was half empty and I felt pretty awkward not being able to get a table. Second, the milkshake wasn’t blended properly. It was so chunky, I couldn’t pour it and when I took a sip, I could only taste milk. Third, the burger was boring and uninspired. Need I go on? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Nicht schlecht, supreme Burger war gut aber hatte auch schon bessere. Mir persönlich war es nicht ausreichend gewürzt. Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Preise waren sehr günstig für New York Verhältnisse. Sweet Potato Fries leider nicht gewürzt.

We went in for a group lunch of four. It is fully packed at lunch hour. Staff were able to sit us quickly and took our order. Nice warm holiday atmosphere.
Here come food:
1. The meat buffalo chicken burger is so tough and the chicken is overcooked.
2. There are many kind of dipping sauce for fry. And I like the one with ginger flavors. It is the first time I saw fried lotus root coming with the fry. Very creative.
3. I ordered median rare burger and it come with blood dripping… My coworker was also holding a median burger dripping blood…

Burgers are my favorite food, and I give this one a 3.5. Bareburger gets bonus points for having so many options with many different meats. There is something for everyone! You can build your own burger as well if none of them look good.
The burger I got this time was beef, and the patty was a tad small, given the price. This is a solid burger, but it’s not the juicy, flavorful, savory burger that I crave. Their shakes are excellent although pricey.
My advice would be to enjoy the burgers here for their toppings and to get the fries and rings combo. Their onion rings are so good! I never order them anywhere else, but here I wouldn’t miss them. You can get a small side of them for $ 4.95 with both or a slightly larger combo with extra sauces for $ 4 more. If I’m sharing with one other person, the small side is enough, and we eat the fries with the delicious ketchup and mustard provided.

Bareburger is a really fun place to go for dinner, I loved the rustic but hipster kind of ambience and the décor. Friday night it was very crowded and loud but we got seated right away as there were quite a few tables in the small space.
The waiter took our order on a little mini tablet which was awesome. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the Supreme burger and a side of fries and onion rings. It didn’t come with any sauce so we got the habanero chipotle on the side for 55c extra. The food was just the right amount for 2 people and it was delicious. The burger was juicy and cooked well, the special sauce added a nice touch. The fries could have been a bit crispier but overall a great side. Rings had a different kind of breading which was pretty tasty. The habanero mayo was SO good. I could have used even more of it. Everything tasted very fresh and organic, even the ketchup!
Will definitely be back for dine in or take out and I want to try the fire quacker as it has the habanero mayo in the burger itself.

Mein zweites Mal hier war viel besser als das erste Mal — unsere Kellnerin war total nett, und wir haben eine tolle Zeit gehabt. Der Limeade war ECHT LECKER, und ich hatte den Buffalo Chicken Sandwich mit einem Side Salat — der Salat war riesig! Meine Freundin hat ihr eigenen Burger gemacht. Am Ende haben wir den Karottenkuchen geteilt. Wir waren beide sehr zufrieden.

Le principe: il y a plusieurs style de burgers, ensuite on choisi sa viande (beef, chiken, bison, etc) après le pain, et la cuisson et l’on peut aussi ajouter des composants…
En fait vous pouvez composer entièrement votre burger et l’adapter a votre goût ! Pour obtenir un résultat succulent !!! :-)
Compter environ 13 a 18 $ pour un bon burger et ensuite 4 a 9 $ la boisson, c’est très raisonnable !!!
