Barbara Gee Danskin Center on Broadway. Barbara Gee has loads of dance clothes for young and older people. Two lady’s in store were very gracious, and stood on ladder to reach shoes for me to try on. Prices are good and
dance stores are rare in Manhattan. A great find.

Terrible service, went in with a girl to buy a leotard and the woman behind the counter gave us two totally in appropriate leotards for a preteen; a few moments later the second salesperson came in and they started chatting about their lunch and who would pay for what, not once were we offered help or asked if we needed any, I finally found the proper leotard, will never go back.

Shopping here is like walking in to your Hoarder Aunt’s bedroom… you know its in there somewhere but you’ll never be able to find it yourself. Thankfully the staff is pretty helpful, but this is not a shop for browsing. Go in with a plan and get out quick.
Also, PRAY that you don’t need to try anything on, because the dressing room is comically small.

Tiny shop, but well stocked with your basic dance & workout clothes. Love their Capri yoga pants here. The dressing room is very petite. The sales staff are nice and helpful.

Residing on the Upper West Side all my life this store has been a life saver. It is a small store serving as a gem where you can get undergarments that last more than the main stream (Victoria’s Secret, etc) stores in the area. Also, dance and aerobic products are also offered which saves a trip to other stores that are far from here. A great service I appreciate is when they personally order something for you if they do not have it in stock. You cannot go wrong with that special treatment received. The staff is very down to earth and helpful. The store manager (female) is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about products and can assist in getting you your true size. A lot of us are not aware that we are wearing something too big or too tight, so if you do go in for help with that, you won’t be disappointed. Prices are moderate, but you are getting quality rather than cheap quantity. If you are appreciative of the small things in life, then this location is too good for you because the best things come in small packages and this little store is a package worth having and that is why is has remained open serving loyal customers who are not concerned about a small store. I have recommended many of my friends and family and the list continues to grow with satisfied customers who do not dread going back.

Pretty small store but has tons of dancing attire, leggings, and under garments. Nothing is particularly beautiful, in my opinion, but if you’re looking for cheap medium-​to-​good quality items, this is a good place. They also have a small wall of socks and leggings, which was a treat.
I’d say overall, while they tout carrying lots of different things, they mostly specialize in low aerobic workout clothes and related accessories.
