Great little sushi place. Affordable and fast. It’s a small place so not ideal for big groups. Would definitely come back.

I get there Sushi Roll Lunch Special delivered to my job all the time. I always get the 3 rolls for $ 10.95, which comes with a miso soup; so worth it. I usually get«Spicy Tuna», «Spicy Crab» & Shrimp Tempura. Flavor is always good. Sushi is pretty fresh. Considering how much it cost, I’d say the quality is great. Lunch specials end at 3pm I believe. There was a language barrier issue 1 time with the delivery guy, but other than that they deliver pretty fast. I highly recommend for good inexpensive sushi.

After reading all the reviews about speedy service I was gravely disappointed. Arrived at 2 pm and service was exceptionally slow. I ordered the sashami delux – which as OK, my mothers Bento box was terrible. The dumplings were cold, the Calif roll was not cold and easily fell apart, the tempura was not crispy and the egg rolls looks like they were packaged and frozen. Only good thing was green tea ice cream. I had the feeling that the place and staff catered to the«regulars» but not newbies. Overall disappointed n both food and service and would not recommend.

First time visiting Bamboo even though I’ve lived and worked a block from it for almost a year now. The lunch special prices(both sushi roll specials as well as bento specials) are a ~$ 1 more than that at Matsu. Tastes are comparable. Service is comparable. Bamboo is definitely brighter than Matsu by design of the restaurant layout. Our food was served quickly and our meal was pleasant. I would give it a 3.5, really, but since the price isn’t as competitive as I would like, it gets a 3.

I’ve eaten here about a dozen times. The food has been ok, not amazing, but I’ve returned because it’s very close to my apartment. The last time I ate at Bamboo Sushi I had food poisoning. Needless to say, I will not be eating there again!

Went for lunch, I got the vegetable tempura/shrimp bento box lunch special. It came with white rice, a salad, california roll and dumplings, miso soup for the appetizer. The best part was that I was able to order my lunch from their site so my the time I arrived they knew my order. Lots of food for about $ 10.

one of my favorite places to order for work lunch. This place is actually pretty good for the price you pay. I usually order the lunch special bento boxes or sushi rolls. Your order usually comes out within 15 mins. You can usually get a seat during lunchtime and they also do a ton of deliveries.

Lightning fast service. ½ an hour and we were in and out for lunch. Servers are quick and sharp. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki bento box– comes with salad, shumai, cali roll, huge prawn shrimp, rice, and miso soup. Friend had the crispy spicy salmon roll and yellowtail– both were delish. He did go on about how sushi rice should be vinegared in traditional japanese fashion, but I didn’t care too much cuz its still tasty. I mean, you walk in knowing its an americanized sushi spot owned by Chinese people– I know to manage my expectations. lol Unlike Matsu, everything isn’t overly salty. I didn’t walk out feeling gross. Flavors were well balanced. I think this is my go-to sushi spot when I’m feeling lazy/not in the mood to walk more than 2 blocks from work/apt. haha PS– there are 2 TVs in the restaurant to keep you entertained if you’re dining solo :)

This is a very convenient place for lunch. The décor is not bad either, with a little sushi bar in the back. Service is pretty good, and the menu has a good variety ranging from noodles to sushi to your classic Bento boxes for a great deal. I got the Tonkatsu Bento box, which is fried pork cutlets with that special BBQ sauce and plenty of rice. It also came with miso soup(not too salty), shumai(you have choice of gyoza too), California roll, and a salad. It’s pretty standard, but it’s for under $ 10. The cutlets were slightly overdone, but not bad. My friend got the Tofu teriyaki bento box, which looked pretty good. She was also able to substitute the California roll for a vegetable roll for $ 2 extra.

This is my to go sushi spot while on the clock. My recent order was very disappointing. I ordered the bento box from the lunch menu. Includes your choice of entrée, soup, salad, rice, 4 piece California roll and your choice of SHRIMPSHUMAI or PORKGYOZA. I placed a to-go order with my option of shrimp shumai — but when i got back to my desk it was pork, defiantly ruined my appetite to eat from the same platter :[ (I am muslim) Note: prior to this experience since I would order from here regular, i would ask to make the teriyakisause a bit thicker, the regular is a bit watery for my liking. too think of a coating for my taste

Ordered lunch delivery since I had a busy day at work. Any Three Roll Lunch Special was $ 10.95, which ended up being $ 11.95 because one roll had eel. That made me feel some type of way, also they only provide soup OR salad, not both as most sushi places do just FYI. Miso Soup: same as everywhere Spicy Tuna: didn’t taste like anything Eel Avocado: didn’t taste like anything, kept falling apart Shrimp Tempura: saving grace of the meal. It was crunchy but saucy and DELICIOUS. I shoveled the poorer rolls in my mouth so I could savor the tempura roll taste. I’d get that roll again but don’t know about the rest. Spicy Tuna and Eel Avocado are the basics and those were misses, so I probably won’t try again.

We were shopping nearby and as we were passing this restaurant it appealed to us for dinner. As usual I first checked Unilocal and realised this restaurant is not listed. So we went to try it. I ordered chicken Katsu bento box with side salad. It was amazing… Quality and quantity came together here. Obviously this didn’t go down well with wife who was planing for a light dinner. My wife ordered Godzilla roll and being a good husband I naturally fulfilled my duty of tasting her food. It was fresh and amazing salmon and avocado roll. Service was also top notch. Our glasses were never empty…(Which may mean I will be having fun during night as I drank a gallon of water there) oh, and they bring hot wipes at the beginning. Final point: my wife surrendered and agreed to fried banana and with a bit of convincing also we added green tea ice cream… It was fanatic. The combination is magical. I highly recommend Bamboo sushi and will go back for sure

Warm water. Bad fried rice. Sub par sushi. Unimpressive service. Restaurant was 2⁄3 empty when we got there and now I get why.

After not eating for 14 hours because of surgery, I woke up from anesthesia craving sushi. Close to the hospital, I hopped over and fulfilled that fishy desire. Been here many times and its a fave spot for fresh sushi, nice atmosphere and relaxing. Service was fast and attentive, as usual. Sat by the window, people watching while sipping my wine. We ordered a lot! *Apps– eddamame, rockshrimp tempura– both YUMMY! accidentally ordered a tempura app which was tempura covered broccoli which was new to me and good, shrimp was good, didn’t like the tempura potato slice nor mushroom. interesting concept though. *ROLLS: spicy tuna crunch, rock shrimp roll, shrimp mango, salmon avocado and LOBSTER roll. All were SO good. fresh. makes my mouth happy. *Dessert my gf had green tea ice-cream and liked it. Ill be back, crutches and all!

I lived above this restaurant for about a year and ate there about 3 – 4 times per week. Miso soup, sweet potato roll and chicken noodle and veggies dishes. The staff is very nice and quick. The food is excellent. I haven’t seen a sweet potato roll on any other sushi menu since. Good prices. Also if you become a regular they start to give you treats for free. It’s a nice quite restaurant. I never experience a wait time for dinner. It’s also in walking distance to some of the major hospital’s, NY Presbyterian, hospital for special surgery and lennox hill.

«Standard sushi on the cheap» This place is perfect if you are near Cornell and need a sushi fix, especially now that their A rating has been restored by the health department:). For a while, it was floating on a C, which is baaaaaddd news for a sushi joint. So, good job to the new management or whoever decided to keep the food at the proper temperature. They have a pretty inexpensive bento box lunch menu, which includes a soup AND a salad. The lunch prices typically range from 8.95 to 12 bucks, which is perfect when dining on the UES. However, I think that the udon broth could use a little work because it find it to be a bit bland at times. The place is a little small and it can get packed during the lunch hour rush but the customer turnover is fairly quick. The servers are nice and very efficient. I have been her so many times that one of the waitresses already knows my food and beverage order. So, I guess the place is kind of like your local bar ;). Highly recommended for lunch.

E-Scale: 5⁄10 Pretty generic American Japanese food. It’s good to pop in real quick if you’re walking by and they also deliver via Seamless. Food tastes good and the place is clean. Nothing too spectacular but nothing bad to say. Will definitely stop by if I’m in the mood for sushi and after shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Cute little sushi joint right outside my apartment that always seems totally empty. I think all their sales are carryout/delivery, even though they have a nice little space to dine-in. Gyoza appetizers and tempura appetizers are tasty but fairly small portion. I’ve gotten many of the special rolls and they’re all right on the money. Snow white roll is very good(scallop roll topped with tuna), love the special spicy white sauce they drizzle on top! Spider roll is also quite good if you like soft shell crab. For their standard rolls, you can’t go wrong with any of the spicy/crunchy options. Enjoy!
