Bad bagels and bad service. Bagels tasted like they were bought from the grocery store and the people were rude. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Ordered lox spread bagel yesterday and fruit smoothie. 45 min later I had food poisoning. All day I felt nauseous, weak and had stomach pain. Today is the second day and I’m still sick. It was my first experience and I won’t order anything from this place ever again! Moreover for bagel and smoothie they charged more than $ 15 which is ridiculous considering quality of their food.

Had a very different experience then my fellow reviewers. Took some NYC visitors here for a quick breakfast around 8:30AM and there was no line. Employees were extra nice and service was fast! Bagels weren’t out of this world but my guests seemed to enjoy them. Nice to know we have a local bagel spot to get a quick breakfast!

They close the grill more than an hour before closing so call to check before you go or you’ll be disappointed.

The bagel and shmear was great. The place was very very small and so hot inside. The line gets so long inside that you are peoples face while they are eating! The only downside to coming here, I think its time to expand the business? Or at least turn the air on! I got the everything bagel with sundried tomato schmear and it was terrific. Huge bagel and lots of schmear to compliment it. 3 stars from me!

Visiting a friend in New York for the weekend. Started off the trip with this bagel shop right next to his apartment. Bagel, egg, and cheese: The rainbow bagel seems to have become super popular this year and so why not get it? This was a great breakfast bagel! The bagel was a good size and tasted delicious. It was not messy and was easy to eat without it falling apart. Not much to say, it was simple easy experience and I feel whenever that is the case, the shop is doing all the right things. They had a large variety of cream cheeses; some which were really unique(Nutella, Confetti, etc). I didn’t buy any, but their baked goods, cupcakes, and cookies looked awesome. Maybe next time. Overall great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

I’ll admit bagels are good but the staff here are incredibly rude. I live across the street so I go here a lot since it’s convenient but no one deserves to be treated the way they treat you, especially a paying customer. For what they charge for the bagels, they can at least lose the attitude. One of the girls actually rolled her eyes at me because she didn’t hear me telling her I had the change.

I was excited when this place opened in NYC because I love the Hewlett Bagel Boss it is absolutely phenomenal and I highly recommend that location. When it first opened I ordered from this location on 3rd almost every Sunday morning until recently when the service drastically changed for the worse. My order has been consistently wrong. I ask for egg whites I get yellow eggs, i ask for two orange juices I get one, I ask for butter on the side I get butter on the bagel, etc. this is not a one time thing. The last straw for me was getting my bagel delivered not toasted(again) when I asked for it to be toasted and the guy who took my order blamed it on me! He said«it is toasted, yeah you said toasted but u have to say if u want it well done toasted» man aren’t you the patron? You should ask me if I want it «well done toasted» if that’s a criteria your store made up. Also, I have been eating bagels my whole life and never had to tell them to make my bagel«well done» — it’s not steak.

Walked into this bagel store because it was in close proximity to where we were staying. The service is super slow & very unorganized. I placed 4 easy orders & the worker was confused. There was no sign that said kosher only store… As I already placed my two orders that is when the worker said we don’t have meat here. Will not return to this bagel store when there are better ones in the area.

Quick deli to stop and grab a bagel and coffee… although am not a big fan of their coffee, it’s a bit watered down for my taste. However, their bagels are fresh and the place offers a large variety of toppings. My fave is an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and tomatoes!

Ah, the glamorous film industry, where either you’re late for the 6AM bus at 36th and 3rd or you’re a half hour early. Never fails. Get there early & wake up at Bagel Boss. I nab a cinnamon raisin toasted with tofu, close my eyes and pretend I’m at Long Beach on Memorial Day. I love their rock n roll radio & their very nice cashier Moett, who was far friendlier than I’d ever be at 5:30AM on a Wednesday. They also have a full juice bar, egg sandwiches, and(for more reasonable hours) panninis and salads. Thanks for keeping me warm, fed & happy, Bagel Boss! See ya in Long Beach next summer.

It SUCKS!!! Service is terrible. Today Jan 1st let this review set the path for improvement, they were so in a hurry to get out of there at 2pm, suggested to only order a simple Bagel by the so called Mgr, then stood in line forever to be sent to another section to place my order which I never got. FYI: Went to Sertinos Café a few door down fabulous place with excellent service try it out guys!

I was happy to see that there is a location here as I just took a job in the area and am very familiar with the 1st ave location. They are nowhere near as friendly, both the girl who took my order and the cashier were a little too short and snapping with me in the process of taking my order. The inside of the place is a disorganized mess with patrons jumping in and out of line no matter how long you have been waiting. The selection of items isn’t as good and less fresh. I think I’ll stick with 1st ave and avoid repeating at this location.

This place deserves a better rating. I live nearby and go here all the time! The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I once had a hankering for a pizza bagel and the manager had it made specially for me at 8am! Also, the bagels are HUGE! And the cream cheese is freshly made. I usually get the low carb bagel with jalapeño cream cheese or sesame with egg and cheese. My only complaint is the bacon… it’s not really bacon haha. But overall, this place is great and a local favorite.

Working on a breaking news crew on the early morning shift, one of the things you always hope for is a place to get a decent quick meal in between live shots! This place is not only clean and convenient, but he staff is polite and very quick. The cheese Danish was probably the best I’ve ever had! So good it’s sinful! Lol. Coffee is great, and with the purchase of a breakfast wrap you get a free coffee AND a small OJ. Can’t beat that! I will definitely be a repeat customer!

5STARSANDMAJORSMILESALLAROUND!!! Couldn’t have had a better start to my day. Upon arriving in NYC, I had a set idea of specific meals I needed to munch on and bagels were number one on that list. On my way from one friends to the next, I decided to stop by the infamous bagel boss for some flagels & iced coffee. What can I say, theres no better way to start a saturday than with a bagel in-hand. I got a toasted everything flagel with creamcheese for myself and another everything flagel with egg /cheese to-go with some iced coffees before linking up with my friend from child hood(pre spin workout) Definitley going back tomorrow but will 100 percent ask for lite cream cheese!

So very mixed opinions on this place… Got a veggie egg white burrito. At first looking online $ 7.99 for wrap is expensive. Turns out it comes with coffee and a 4oz oj. So actually average price to the other stores around. The veggies were suppose to be broccoli, bell pepper, onion and mushrooms. No broccoli in it, or anything green. So it mostly tasted like fajita mix. Egg whites were delicious. But my biggest complaint was the amount of liquid in it. They wrapped the warp in the white clear, wax paper type stuff, then the aluminum and then in a paper bag. Liquid leaked through all three layers and into my purse bag before I got to work. So when I got to work, I wiped it down, wrapped it in a dry paper towel and while I was eating, about another quarter cup of liquid came dripping out. So messy. And it made the tortilla super soggy. I’m not sure what the deal was. if they cooked the veggies in water and didn’t cook all the water out of what… But this was a huge mess. Only win was healthy-like and good egg whites. But they amount of liquid was just odd and unpleasant.

You know I love me a good flat(or flagel) and knowing Bagel Boss, a beloved place in Long Island that I never tried but only heard good things about, opened a few blocks from my office, I had to wander through its doors. For a Friday morning during the rush hour frenzy, it wasn’t too packed. They have a large assortment of bagels and pastries as well as an oatmeal bar where you can choose milk or water-based oats with your choice of toppings, pretty cool! I ordered a multigrain flat with schmear and it was great. Just a heads up guys, this place is kosher so it’s not your bacon-egg-and-cheese spot, but if you’re looking for lox, spreads, and anything not from a pig, I’d recommend coming here. The only thing that kept me from giving Bagel Boss a full five stars was the service, which was painfully slow, but other than that I think I’ve found my Friday carbicide spot!

Considering half of Murray Hill consists of fellow Long Island transplants, I’m astonished the legendary Bagel Boss hasn’t planted its flag here sooner! To those who haven’t had the privilege of sinking their teeth into Bagel Boss’ scrumptious bagels, chunky specialty cream cheeses, juicy smoked fish, or decadent rugelach, this is what every NYC bagel spot SHOULD taste like! Bagels here are a very reasonable $ 1.15 each, or $ 12 for a baker’s dozen, but cream cheeses will increase your purchase to $ 2.50 and up. These are my staples: — Toasted sesame w/lite scallion & lox CC — Toasted everything flagel w/lite veggie CC& sliced tomatoes — …or a good ol’ warm swirly cinnamon raisin w/CC
