Great burgers, lots of interesting ways of dressing them. Gluten-free options, yay! And good vegetables, for those of you who like to eat healthfully, like we do.(I always feel better if I eat my dark greens.) I’m not a dessert person, but there is a HUGE dessert menu with interesting varieties of shakes and other ice cream desserts. So you can be healthful or hedonistic when you eat here: good for groups of friends with different tastes and interests in food.

I bartend near by and this place is a godsend for late night fried food… especially on those 4am nights. Bridget behind the counter anticipates your needs and exceeds them. All about the Mac n’ Cheese Balls.

This is a very good diner. Don’t be put off by the quietness of the place. My wife and I visited here several times on a recent trip to NYC. The food is really good here, great value & the staff are really friendly and efficient, I’d really recommend the Dirty South if you are ever in here. Also if you are Gluten/Dairy intolerant and they have a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and deserts which taste amazing. Cracking diner!!!

It took over an hour to get an order of onion rings, which were hardly worth $ 8. I came in what was apparently a very busy night. Not so much inside the restaurant itself as the traffic from their online delivery orders. I know this because the only waitress working there ranted about it to every single customer inside the restaurant. Instead of spending all that time venting and making excuses, it would’ve been nice if she just did her job and sped things up. Getting my check took another 30 minutes because of that. They need to be better organized with better customer service here.

Walked in and the assistant manager rudely said wherever I wanted to sit. Sat down and she slammed the menu and a glass of water in front of me without a word then walked to the host stand and loudly bitched that every time she wanted to take a smoke break some f*CKing customer walked in and then she had to wait until they left. She said she shouldn’t be working here because she just didn’t care and she hated everything about the restaurant. So I got up, said I’m fine but enjoy your cigarette break, and walked out the door. Hey girl, I understand hating your job but don’t take it out on me. And you’re right. You shouldn’t be working here because you definitely made me feel uncomfortable enough to never return.

I really didn’t expect much, I work in the area and was really hungry so I thought I would give the BAD Burger a try. I was pleasantly surprised, I REALLY enjoyed my burger. They have many different types of burgers and toppings to choose from, I kept is simple and had a burger topped with cheddar, bacon. The bun for the burger was very tasty, the meat was well seasoned and the the burger was cooked to the perfect temperature. I checked in on Unilocal and was rewarded with a free order of French Fries which is a 2 $ value. When in need for a good burger be sure to check this place out.

First off, MAJOR props to this spot for having an entrée menu that serves vegan and vegetarian customers so well. I was pleasantly surprised that almost any meat entrée could be modified for gluten allergies, veggie lovers and omnivores alike. I ordered«The Joker» without the bacon on a garden veggie patty. Garlic aioli, Gruyère cheese, chopped walnuts, sautéed onions – it was delicious! It’s gourmet burgers, they’re certainly not fast food prices-$ 17 for a burger and fries. But well worth it with the swift, friendly service and savory, veg friendly food! Will be back!

SOGOODFORGLUTENFREE! Seriously, surprising. But it’s an excellent option not just for gluten free burgers/buns, but also a really nice selection of breakfast/brunch stuff: GF waffles, pancakes, french toast, of course eggs and potatos. Also good gluten free brownies and cookies! My kids and I love it. That and the burgers are quite good. Oh and there are video games.

This place is the quintessential hidden gem of New York. The staff is always unbelievably friendly and makes you feel at home. It’s usually pretty empty, but don’t let that deter you– after all, it is open pretty much all day! It is an incredible option for anyone with gluten issues or any vegetarians/vegans. They have an amazing menu with so many choices. An example of the great customer service: a few friends ordered pretty late at night. After sitting at the table for about ten minutes, the server came and told my friend that they were out of what he ordered. After he chose something else, the server brought an entire plate of nachos for the table for free and apologized for the extra wait. Hard to find nicer service in manhattan!

I know a lot of people shit on this place, but I found no issues with it. I’ll admit I only went because of the Unilocal check in deal, but I’m glad I did. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros($ 13.00). Pretty typical dish, but they put an original and delicious spin on it. Eggs, Homefries, Black Beans, Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Pico, and Habenero Sauce on a Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño Cornbread Waffle. So many flavors and it all works! I was surprised at how much I tasted the sweet part of the waffle, which I enjoyed. It was almost a cinnamon taste. With the Unilocal check in deal, you get either onion rings or french fries for free. I went with the onion rings since my huevos had homefries on it already. These onion rings are gigantic. They fall apart and are hard to eat. Good, just extremely messy. You have to take the place for what it is. If you go in expecting a five star dining experience, with vegan food similar to that of Angelica or Blossom, you’ll be disappointed. It’s fast/comfort food, that’s delicious and not good for you. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere is very diner/dive bar like. Id definitely return to try one of their many odd burger creations. I should also mention it isn’t strictly vegan food either. The entire menu is interchangeable for vegans/vegetarians or meat eaters.

My friend and I came here at 1am because there is nothing open in Long Island that late(especially on a weeknight). Bad Burger is open until 4:45am which was perfect for us. They have a bunch of vegan items as well as non vegan. We got the coconut cake, brownie, truffle fries, and Mac and cheese balls(all vegan), and two teas. Coconut cake: moist, light and delicious. It was sweet but not too sweet and not too coconut-ty which I like because I find coconut to be too much some times. Brownie: dense, bitter, bland. Did not like at all. Mac and cheese balls: really yummy and the sauce makes it even better. Truffle fries: nothing special. Did not taste like truffle at all but the sauce from the m&c Balls made them better. The waitress was super nice and voided the brownie on the bill and gave us a free cherry-almond cookie which was sooooo yummy! Not better than the coconut cake but almost as good. Now, if you are not looking for processed foods, this is not the place for you because many of the things are(like the processed vegan cheese for the m&c balls) but we were not looking for healthy, we were looking for open late and vegan so this was perfect. The total for me and my friend was $ 26($ 13 each) which is not bad at all considering many places charge like $ 4 just for tea

DISCLAIMER: I’ve eaten at Bad Burger before, and it’s been delicious every previous time. Last night I passed by Bad Burger and decided to pop in for a delicious gluten free treat to go. The server fellow who helped me seemed friendly and nice. He suggested a gluten free brownie. I asked if it was gooey, and he affirmed that it was. He suggested ice cream as well. This sounded lovely to me, so I asked how much this would cost. «With the icecream… $ 3.25» he said. (I have called Bad Burger this afternoon and asked the price of the brownies, which I was told is $ 4.50.) Ok! Great! So he loaded the stuff together, and walked towards the register. I handed him my solitary $ 20 bill, and he rustled my change for me(which I believe was out of his tips and not the register?). He handed me the change, and FOLDEDITOVERASHEGAVEITTOME which is not appropriate for a business, and was immediately raising red flags. I counted a ten and five singles. I was confused and asked about the price. He handed me a receipt without tax or anything, which read: Date: Feb 21, 2014 Time: –1:56:14 Server: Eddy Table: CARRYOUT – RACHEL ________________ $ 1.00BROWNIE I asked him again about the price, and he said that my change was $ 15.27. He was weirdly obtuse about explaining himself, only repeating that my change was $ 15.27, and when I asked him directly«ok, did you give me the 27 cents?» he just looked at me and said«No.» with a smirk. His entire attitude was one of dismissiveness. I think he had assumed I was drunk, as most people are at 2am in the LES. I, however, had not had a drink all night. I’m just a night person. (While this was going on, a coworker approached him and asked about some different money matter while showing him a receipt. As the server responded with«no, there’s no change for that» the expression of annoyed suspicion that drifted across the coworkers face is what clinched it. This server guy was very clearly just skimming off everyone around him, and blatantly so.) Instead of battling with him over it, I figured it was best to let it go and instead contact the business owners at a later time. As I was leaving, I asked him for a spoon, he dismissed me and said everything was in the bag. Blocks away, when I opened my bag I found it contained a knife and fork. I used these with great difficulty to eat the brownie, which was not warmed as I’d asked and was hard and stale and as far from gooey as possible. It was fantastically disappointing. I had hoped to email Bad Burger directly, but the site only lists phone numbers of their stores, and I don’t imagine this information would reach who it needs to if I called. (there was a woman who came out from the back to change the record just as I was leaving; she seemed oblivious to the nefarious goings on that I am referring to) Again, usually the food is GREAT! I’m sure that the service is awesome during the day. I’m really happy to see that there’s some night life still in NYC, as well. I just hope that they get some better help. Also, I’d like my money back.

Not sure why this place is so poorly reviewed. Maybe because they ordered breakfast at a burger place lol. Stumbled in drunk and was surprised to see that the restaurant looked like an old school diner. Unfortunately, they do not serve alcohol. I made sure, I asked twice. Service was quick. Max, our waiter, was quite friendly and suggested the shroom burger. So I ordered the shroom burger with onion rings. Friend ordered the hulk burger with fries. I’m a sucker for games. I would return to almost any place that has games. Bad Burger had a pile of board games for me to choose from while I waited for my food. Played Connect Four and I was in my happy place. My burger came out a perfectly juicy medium rare. Enjoyed the creamy pepper sauce and mushrooms. My onion rings had more of a tempura batter. They were good, but I only got 4 of them. My friend got way more fries. Prices were fair, less than $ 20 for 2 burgers and sides. I’d go back.

I came here with my cousins on a recent trip to NYC, and I definitely dig this hipster place. A bit pricey for my comfort, but its New York, so its to be expected. I ordered French toast for $ 6…and it came with 4 halves of French toast… very tasty though. It was enough for me, but if you are a big eater, you bill would probably average around $ 10 – 12. Our waitress was good and attentive. I mentioned that Bad Girl Cookie(I believe that’s what it was called) so I could get my free chocolate cookie… and she gave me 3 of them for everyone at our table to have one! How awesome is that! A nice vibe going on there… I would definitely come back next time I come to New York… not a big coconut fan, but I heard their coconut French toast is to die for!

Lovely friendly service. Good selection of vegan options. Our food was awesome BUT completely and utterly soaked in oil to the point where I felt like I was putting on 100lbs just taking one bite. Considering we only bought a couple of starters it seemed very very expensive. Oh well. when in Rome…

Just a really meh place Our waiter was pretty nice but everyone there lacked a sense of urgency. It took way too long to get our food and nobody seemed to care. The food was just kind of meh. I got a Vegan Dirty South Sandwich($ 9 + $ 1 for vegan) at the waiter’s suggestion and it tasted like something I could make in my underwear with a microwave. Strange tasteless white stuff masquerading as mayonnaise adorned the top and bottom of my overly crunchy sandwich bread. Inside was some melted vegan cheese, a breaded vegan chicken cutlet, and vegan bacon. I couldn’t really taste anything but a faint fake bacon flavor. I tried as hard as I could not to break out the Heinz, but failed. I didn’t want fries so I tried to sub broccoli which set me back $ 4. You have the option to get sauerkraut and pickles on the side so I elected to do that. I got a little plastic condiment cup with multi-colored cabbage that tasted of nailpolish remover and the sliced off ends of a pickle. That’s right two tiny pickle endpieces over a sad leaf of some sort of microgreen. I won’t knock them for having options. It’s awesome that they do! It all just tasted like regret, though. I guess this place is good if you’re a vegan in a pinch or for some decent vegan drunk food. It’s 24⁄7 and has options for everyone(including people with celiac). I’m not running back, but if it’s late and I’m hungry and I find myself in the East Village, you know where I’ll be.

I went here for my birthday and had an absolutely lovely meal. Even though I already had a coupon, the server brought me a free cookie, which totally made my day since this quick mid-work lunch for one was my official birthday meal. The server was really friendly and helpful and was really fun to talk to. I went with the sampler appetizer and was blown away by the deep fried vegan mac and cheese balls. Incredible!!! The sampler also had some fried broccoli(my attempt to get some greens in the mix) which were pretty good, but I didn’t care for the fried pickles, which I mostly ignored. I’ve had fried pickle spears in the past and enjoyed them so maybe I just don’t like the coins or maybe I can only care for fried pickles in moderation. For my meal, I went with the Rebel Yell sandwich, pretty much because I love that Billy Idol song. I don’t even remember what came on the sandwich(soy chicken, maybe?) but I did enjoy it. I will definitely be back here in the future. My goal is to try everything on the menu.
