These guys are the greatest. This past Saturday(yes, the day of the blizzard) myself and 30 people coming from all directions were all lined up to surprised my newly engaged best friend at a bar… a bar that then closed without bothering to call and let us know. Stranded and with just about 30 minutes to find a new place for a massive group, these guys immediately said to come on in despite the size of the group and the rowdiness of the event. Their space is cozy, the beer is diverse and delicious, they have great munchies – on top of that they will go above and beyond to make your experience great(think: pouring champagne into tasting glasses for our massive group to have a toast and allowing us to yell SURPRISE when they walked in the door). A place that makes the effort to make our celebration special is special itself!

The beer here is exceptional. The service is very attentive. If I am ever in the city I always try making this one of my first stops!

Friendly bartenders, great intimate vibe and an excellent taplist combine for an excellent neighborhood bar.

Really happy we stumbled across this beer parlor. We literally walked by and heard a decent upbeat happy hour crowd from the sidewalk and decided to give it a try. They have an excellent selection of beer, obviously, and was please to find an amber ale on tap. Keep in mind this is a beer parlor and the wine selection is limited nothing to rave about. My friend only drinks wine and well too bad for her. We were starving and while they don’t have a kitchen they did have hummus with vegetables and pita and heated up a few meatballs which was better than nothing. Don’t come here for food, but if you do, make do with what you’re given. But if you do decide to order food hummus is the way to go. It also came with some tzatziki and the carrots and celery were fresh. No brown spots. Pita was cut in triangles and we devoured them carbs. I’m not entirely sure, but I’m pretty sure the meatballs were heated up in the microwave but we loved them. It was in some type of tomato sauce and when you’re hungry anything will taste delicious. Nonetheless we were satisfied. Bartender was great and attentive and didn’t give us(my friend) the skunk eye when she ordered wine or food. Not the typical spot you see people eating but hey, when you’re hungry you’ll eat anything. Would have preferred the music to be on a bit louder you couldn’t really hear it. Music always sets the mood. Really great spot in Greenwich and would probably make this one of my regular happy hour neighborhood spots.

Another great Greenwich Village joint that I’ve been missing out on for some time. Dang. It just seems like a neighborhood friendly beer bar, and it’s incredibly comfortable, without being overly dilapidated. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good dive, but I do highly appreciate a beer bar that’s a little nicer. Came here for some low-key beers with some friends. I like craft beer, but I’d never consider myself a connoisseur, I just kinda know what I like. That being said, I’m a fan of the flight system, since it’s very conducive to trying as many beers as possible. We did a full flight, which is 24 glasses I think, and it worked out well. Whatever beers someone didn’t like, we could just pass off to another friend with matching tastes. It worked out quite well. Nothing quite like drinking in a bar that brings out dozens and dozens of glasses at a time. Service is excellent and very helpful here. When it’s simply beer, there ain’t much to it, but they do a good job of making sure that you’re happy with your order and that you get something that you really like. Prices are reasonable, and you can try a bunch of beers for a decent price. I really like that it wasn’t terribly crowded, yet still relatively active for a Tuesday night. Didn’t get a chance to try the food here, but the stuff that they were bringing out to other people looked pretty nice. Seems like your standard pub fare, but probably more limited than most menus, though. You might feel full of liquid after a while, but that’s just what it is. There’s also just that satisfied feeling you get after drinking all that beer. I’ll definitely be back, as I’m curious to see what the weekend scene is like. I’m certainly very curious to see the beer menu changes as the weeks and seasons go by. I’d say it’s best for hanging in a small group, or even a super laid-back date who’s really into beer.

The beer selection is good. The price is fine. The atmosphere is good when its not crowded. Its calm and classy. However, when it gets crowded its just like any other bar except maybe with a slightly better beer menu. I didn’t try the food or the beer sample, which I think would have made things a lot more fun. I would be willing to give it another try. But so far, three stars.

Great selection of beers here, chill atmosphere, and some nice nibbles to go with the brews. It’s too bad the growler place(its original incarnation) has gone away, but this is a very welcome basement boîte.

Bar tenders really know their stuff and can recommend beers to suite whatever mood you’re in. It’s a more chill bar — nice for enjoying a drink and being able to hear the conversation. Not too crowded even on a Friday night.

Love this place. Small and not a lot of seating but lots of taps offering lots of solid beer options — not just local brews but some more«exotic» options too. The beer flight is a great choice if you can’t decide what you want(definitely had this problem since all the options sounded good!) Friendly bar tenders, laid back crowd — the place just has an awesome vibe. Conveniently located too — close to the PATH which is very handy. Plus how can you not love a place called«Arts and Crafts Beer Parlor»?? Check it out — you will be glad you did! :)

This was a surprisingly nice place. Larger then expected once you walk inside. Cool and relaxed atmosphere, decent beer selection too. There are a ton of places around, but if you’re wishing a 3 – 4 block radius, this is worth checking out.

big fan. stumbled in while I was in the area, and got to try the 6 beers sample for really cheap. Solid craft beer list, and the crowd seemed cool and considerate. Will definitely be back

Been here a couple times now — very cool place to grab some beers, especially during happy hour. It has quaint feel and the bartenders are very friendly. Getting seating might be a challenge but my friend and I haven’t had issues. The beer selection is broad — can’t speak to other types of drinks. Overall, very good experience for getting a cold brew after work or whenever I guess.

See my last review for more details if you’d like, but I feel obligated to bump up my rating to 5 stars. I came here this past weekend for the first time in a month or so, and have nothing but positive things to say. The crowd is boisterous but not obnoxiously so, the bartenders are downright awesome, and obviously, the beer list is expansive, creative and diverse. And tasty. Can’t forget tasty. Even when this place is packed as it was this past weekend, I’m always aware of how full of good vibes it is. Lots of chill people with a passion for beer, just looking to have a more low-key night. Something about Arts and Crafts being below street level makes it like a cozy little nook. I love it. If you didn’t get that already. I felt the need to update my review because on this past trip, I conquered a flight of 12 beers with a friend. We’re both very into craft beer and are interested in sampling as much as we can(responsibly, of course), so we were very much up for the challenge. A flight of 12(½ board) is 45 bucks. If you’re splitting that between two people, it’s a really really good deal. That’s 25ish per person if you’re including tip, which is basically 1.5 cocktails at a speakeasy. If you check out my picture, you’ll see that they give you good-sized glasses, so don’t get too overzealous or you WILL get blackout. I can’t see how you wouldn’t. When we asked the bartender about the full flight(24), he said«well, it’s possible…». But the two of us wanted to find our way home that night, so we did the responsible thing. First things first — you’ll get a paper and pencil to list your choices. They were actually out of a few beers we had listed, but fortunately that meant that a number of beers on their«coming soon» list was coming… right then and there. So voila, more beers to choose from — if there weren’t enough already! They give you your flight based on the order of the beers you’ve chosen. I’m not sure if all racks are circular(I’m guessing they are), but you’re encouraged to go clockwise. The first beer you pick will be at 1 o’clock(I mean, technically you can make it whatever o’ clock you want but you get the point), and then you just rotate around. Simple enough. If you’re with someone who’s as interested in broadening their craft beer horizons as you are, I’d highly recommend this option. They’ve got such an impressive draft list and for someone who’s addicted to trying new things, the flight option is really the only option.

Really chill place on a quiet block for a Wednesday night hangout. There was tons of seating at the bar and plenty of tables. Volume level allowed for great long catch-up conversations. As a lot of reviews have mentioned, I wish Arts and Crafts had some more food but it’s not a dealbreaker. Also the bathroom is SUPERCLEAN! But there’s only 1, so there might be a bit of a line.

We were here on a Friday night after dinner. I was surprised there were 2 seats right at the bar… Maybe because it was a holiday weekend and everyone was out of town. I read that normally it’s packed so I guess we got lucky. We got one of the flights. The staff was so helpful in helping us choose a good variety of beers which would differ but compliment eachother. All of the beers were so good! They had some really creative flavors which I had never seen before.

My friends and I stopped in here seeking respite from the Pride parade. A girl was standing outside with a beautiful pink beer and Diana D. immediately asked her where she got that and we were directed a couple steps down to Arts and Crafts. Can we pause for a second and recognize that the name of this spot is too cute? They had a really great beer selection but I was set on enjoying my grapefruit shandy on a hot summer day. They have a small selection of wines by the glass but also a full cellar bottled options too. They have good drink specials every day and even on the weekends(all day on Sunday). The guys behind the bar were really cool and accommodating. I am ever so thankful for their portable phone charger that they let me use – in exchange, they held my license but the juice was worth it! I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and want a good beer!

Awesome spot! Great beer selection — lots of choices without being completely overwhelming. Don, the owner, is a super cool guy. I was there on a Wednesday night and it was quite busy — but not obnoxiously so. There was still some space and the crowd was animated, yet chill… and not pretentious. It does get loud in there… but it’s a bar. It’s supposed to be loud. They have a specially-designed system for perfectly poured beers — they’re always just the right temperature due to what’s going on behind the scenes. I had one of the dark beers(coffee stout) and it was fabulous. There is a limited food selection — just snacks that they prepare behind the bar but they’re solid quality. If you’re not a beer fan, there’s wine and several ciders to choose from. If none of the tap beers float yer boat… there are plenty of bottled selections. Looking forward to going back!

This place was a great choice for a post-dinner batch of beers. There’s an extensive draft list coupled with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would definitely visit again if in the neighborhood. I sat at the bar for a couple of drinks, where you have no choice but to notice the 24 taps in front of you! A blackboard above the taps has the list of beers available, but additionally there is a menu which has descriptions of those beers, as well as the options available by the bottle. There are a few food options available, but only after you page through all the beer, cider, and wine selections. Draft choices include not only local items, but things further afield. During my visit, there was a strong presence from some of the Oregon brewers. Prices are fair given the choices available and quality of service. If you find yourself in the Village and are craving a multitude of craft beer choices, this is your place. Conveniently located to several train stops, including the PATH(which was my mode of transport for the evening).

The beer selection isn’t super rare but it’s pretty diverse. I loved that it’s understated and amazing. Good selection of brews. Can’t beat the happy hour prices either. Owner was there and was very friendly as well. The art on the wall also sets it apart from other standard beer bars. Probably my shortest review but it’s the least I need to say to get anyone’s ass to this spot :) if you’re in the neighborhood and want to check out a low key spot with good booze, check this place out.
