Sure, it’s a bit overpriced, but the waiters and servers are all friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and classy

I have seen mixed review of this restaurant, but to me the food is decent. MAYBE a bit overpriced but then again this is New York and this place is an iconic diner not your street corner diner. I have to say the deserts are not particularly special. They have interesting variety and I chose chocolate moose cheesecake, which is unique. It is not particularly tasting special but it will do! My Broiled Seafood lunch was ordered without scallops and in exchange the chef added extra salmon and shrimp. The portion is decent. I would normally have a doggie bag, but not this time. It comes with your choice of soup or salad and I chose salads with blue cheese dressing. I had a good lunch!

My goodness. My. Goodness. I like to think of myself as an experienced diner-goer. A diner connoisseur, if you will. And I know my facts: 1) A diner burger should be amongst the cheapest things on the menu. My total came out to $ 18. 2) It should automatically COME with lettuce and tomato. Not be $ 3 extra, under the heading«Deluxe».(Oh, paying extra for exactly what a burger is? Thanks) 3) It shouldn’t taste like absolutely plastic garbage. Honestly, what the hell. This place is here only to coax innocent tourists into paying there grotesquely overpriced disasters of food. It is actually insulting, and as a New Yorker of 3 years I’ve been kicking myself every time I’m reminded I actually went here. DONOTGO NYC diners are supposed to be a beautiful craft, where you experience good food and the neighborhood culture and a very attentive staff. This place is a joke.

First, today is Sunday May 1st, 2016 and at 06:50am I ordered a California Omelet. When, i got back to my job half the Coffee was gone. spilled all over the Sugar and Splenda so, that was unusable. they never put in my toast so, I paid for something that was not there., oh, well that’s, okay I’m never going back not because of the food because the food is decent but the guys in the kitchen are in a daze or they did it on purpose.

Our waiter was great and entertaining, but that was the only nice part of the experience. The food was unappetizing, and the owner/manager lacked manners. This establishment is not recommended.

Worst dining experience. I ordered homefries and there was a piece of chicken in it. i dont eat meat. I ordered toast it never came. It was 2am and they didnt have ANYTHING. Anything that we wanted to order the waiter said«oh we dont have that.» So basically everyone ended up with fries or nothing. My friends cup of water smelled like chicken i mean come on this place is seriously a mess i dont know how they havent shut down. I would give them zero stars if i could because even the service was ghastly.

Quite literally the worst breakfast I have ever had. Everything was bland and tasted old. I almost stood up and walked out after the first bite. The potatoes had no flavor the bread(toasted) was soggy and my entire omelet(if you could even call it that) was burnt. I would never come here again, ever!

Prices are ridiculous, even for Times Square. A domestic can of beer should not be $ 9– 2 ½ times the regular price of one bottle and more money than an entire 6-pack. The food was absolutely nothing special and the customer service was lacking. Places like this only stay in business because there are so few low brow sit down eateries in this area and they should never be at high brow prices.

We stumbled upon this diner after looking for a more affordable restaurant after fleeing the grossly overpriced Lindy’s. The menu seemed reasonable and the place was packed so we figured it’d probably decent. Honestly, it was below average. I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. it was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. if I visited again or lived in NYC, I wouldn’t eat there again if that tells you anything. Honestly, the food wasn’t that great. Our waitress was nice but there wasn’t anything outstanding about her performance. We passed Brookyn Diner later in the day and wished we’d gone there.

Food was filling and good and service was very attentive I have been in NYC for a week and I have come here at least 6 times because it is close to my hotel. Every time it is the same good food and good service. But it is diner food not 5 star dining so for what it is it is very good and the staff is very good

Service was ok, very attentive with refills thou and the breakfast food is delicious! Eggs florentine are divine as well as the Eggs Benedict. They have delicious coffee! and a very varied menu to accommodate all walks of life. The food is a tad bit pricey but they do have generous portions.

MY place for American Breakfast near Time Square. The waffles and pancakes are really nice, lemonade too, prices correct. Didn’t find a better place for those types of breakfast around.

I don’t enjoy giving one star reviews out, but there’s a time and place for everything and this place deserves it. I went on Thanksgiving morning since options were limited and I gotta say, they live up to the disappointment. Service is gruff and not friendly, overpriced and the diner food they’re serving up isn’t good. I went with a western egg sandwich and it was over cooked and tasted rotten. How does an egg sandwich taste rotten? Yes, I know. I had to smother it in ketchup and just swallow it, no chewing or smelling allowed. The kicker that secured the 1 star review was that I opted to have it on an english muffin. When I went to pay, I was charged a $ 1 extra. What? I asked why and the man I’m assuming is the owner or manager working the register responded: because it comes on a roll or bread, english muffin and bagel are $ 1 more. I answered: well that’s silly and my waiter probably should have mentioned it.(It’s not about the $ 1, but the principle, yo.) The owner retorted, well, that’s just the way it is. I paid $ 6.25 for a disgusting, small egg sandwich. YIKES.

Corned beef has was on point! Crispy, just as I ordered. Hash brown’s were really good too! All in all, solid breakfast that was quick and reasonable.

Now a solid 2-star. Ordered breakfast, as they were the only walkable option that had something that sounded appealing to me. Pre-made toast, kept under a warmer [read: butter didn’t melt at all, and way chewy) Ordered whoole wheat — given white Picked up 20 minutes after I ordered. Walked two blocked to office. Food cold. Random tomatoes(which I did not request) all up in my omelette… Omelette taste was fine, even if the cheese seeped all out on the bottom. Hashbrowns solid enough. Meh.

Just had a vegetable omelette here and it was very bland. My boyfriend had a Philly cheesesteak even though I warned him this wouldn’t be the place to order one and he said it was the worst Philly cheesesteak he’s ever had. My omelette was 13 dollars and being from jersey it was a total rip off when you can go around the corner to Brooklyn Diner for a more«posh» breakfast that was amazing for 4 extra dollars. Some other little things I did not like was the fact that soda was not free refill(I didn’t think that restaurants still do this) and the the service tip was already added on(15%) when the server was in the back texting. I saw our server in the back booths texting while we were waiting for refill on drinks and condiments. My boyfriend and I agreed we will not come back.

Wish I could give less then one star ordered an egg white turkey bacon and tomato sandwich on an English muffin after waiting for about 10 minutes waiter came out handed me a brown bag and said $ 8.75 my initial reaction was to look behind me because I did not think he was talking to me after all I only ordered a English muffin sandwich to my surprise he was talking to me I thought to my self it is NYC and maybe it’s a huge sandwich on a sandwich side English muffin to my surprise when I got back to work standard size English muffin the only thing I’m thinking is maybe they charged me extra for all the salt they were using because that’s the only thing I tasted… NEVERAGAIN!!!

This is a pretty reliable place. I get delivery from them and I eat in occasionally. It’s packed on Sunday mornings and service can be kind of slow at that time, but otherwise, you can usually get a seat and the service is quick. Food overall is typical diner food. Portions are large and the food is decent. Prices are high for a diner, but not bad for being so close to Times Square. It’s a plus that it is so convenient to me, but I haven’t gone there in my pajamas yet.
