This is directly across the street from the Majestic Theater, where Phantom of the Opera plays. My wife and I made a reservation for Saturday night at 6:15pm. We made the reservation at 5pm, only an hour notice(used Open Table). We were seated promptly on the third floor. I have see reviews saying that the third floor was a problem, or was empty or whatever. The third floor is this cozy restaurant unto itself. There is a bar, restrooms and seating for about 25 or 30. Very comfortable & cozy, we loved it. Service was great, very prompt(unusual for NYC) and attentive. Food was good, was hot and served quickly. Not gourmet quality, but okay. Desert and coffee were very good too. This was one of more fav places we ate in NYC. I would highly recommend it. I don’t know what to sat about all the other negative reviews, we had a great experience.

I’m not sure what happened to this restaurant, but what a disappointment. We ordered two salads and one of them was totally tasteless. The red wine tasted like Vinegar. We asked for Bread, but there was none downstairs. We asked two more times and at the end of our meal, three slices showed up. Never again!

Very warm and welcoming restaurant near Broadway. The Fish and Chips were excellent, especially the batter. The Mediterranean salad was ok, much smaller portion than I expected for the price. Overall, good food and friendly staff.

There are not a lot of choices. I ordered the salad special which looked good. It had lots of nuts, chick peas and tomatoes but very little cranberries. I had to ask for the blue cheese because there was almost none. The waitress was very friendly. I felt like we were being rushed even when we trying to take our time. I’m glad we had a .

We stopped here Thursday night before a show across the street with the intent of grabbing a drink. We grabbed about three and an appetizer just to be able to hang out with their bartender Rick. He’s just phenomenal and knowledgeable. Actually, all of the staff are charming and fun. Try this place out!

Went to this place before a show last Saturday night. I expect a restaurant in this location at the time I went to be very busy. It was. However, I did not expect the quality of the food to be SOPOOR. It was simply awful. Totally amateurish as if the chef walked out and the bus boys were manning the stoves. Mediterranean Salad stuffed into toasted pita: Some veggies and what tasted like canned tomatoes in a non-toasted dried out ½ pc of pita bread. $ 13 Salmon: Smelled. Very dry and tasteless on a leaf of iceberg lettuce. $ 28 Cajun Seafood Pot Pie: Covered w/¾″ thick piece of corn bread for some reason. Once corn bread was removed the inside was not bad. However, the portion was very, very small. Hey I’m not a big eater. But this Pot Pie served in a 4″ diameter clay pot was appetizer size for the Entre price of $ 28. AVOIDTHEPLACE. We were in the area looking for a place to eat our dinner. Initially, we decided to go to Guy Fierri’s restaurant which was a few doors away from Angus’. But my dad didn’t like the atmosphere of the place so we walked a little further and stumbled upon this cute little bistro. We got the Deluxe, Grilled Salmon, and the New York Strip. Their steaks were delicious and the servings are generous! Their truffle fries are a treat as well as the Ratatouille. Their service can be a little slow but the food made up for it.

Prices Higher/Quality Lower. This place used to be hopping and affordable, and it was a hangout for people in shows, but now I’d call it just another overpriced tourist place with mediocre food. The fish and chips were soggy. The house wine was — and I am not exaggerating here– the WORST wine I have ever tasted. It tasted to me like it was cut with grape juice. Serious swill. The bathrooms seemed very dirty to me. The place used to be busy after shows, but now it’s depressing and kind of empty, like Sardis, another tired place.(At least Sardis has a great history.) Some show folk do still go to Angus, but probably because it’s very convenient if you have get some post-show entertaining or networking over with without schlepping some place else blocks away. Oh, the prix fixe dinner is a TINY portion of entrée and a tiny dessert. They don’t tell you this beforehand. Rip-off. The waitstaff is and has always been nice. It’s not their fault.

Such upbeat on-the-spot service by the lovely Kyle! Steak was cooked perfectly to my taste. Loved the ambiance– late dinner after the show was chill. Awesome.

Nice simple place for NYC. Found the location randomly as we we’re walking across the street. Only one table was occupied as we settled on a second table. I wondered why the traffic was scarce on a Saturday afternoon assumably during busy restaurant hours. As we found out, the food was way less than impeccable. The kids has side orders of fries & Mac & cheese. Surprisingly, none of us(three adults & two kids) liked the Mac! the Mac has an aftertaste after every bite! Way worse than. Entrée with ribs, came boneless. The steak was well done as instructed but was soggy! Chicken just appeared like chicken but was the worst nod all the entrees. At least we all enjoyed the fries. The server was amazing. Very courteous and repeatedly come to check how we doing. 18% gratuity was included in the bill which I don’t mind at all. Our flat mean explained why only two tables were occupied the entire time we were in the restaurant. I will definitely not wonder there anytime!

Came here last Night Before heading to see phantom of the opera . We did Not have a Reservation & wereTaken to the 3rd floor which has a Lounge feeling. Ordered there Specialty Drink which was Ehhh, husband and I ordered the same drink his was about Oz shorter then mine and was darker in color only 1 bartender so not sure how that happens. Dinner Was Not Much Better Salad Lacked flavor Mac cheese was decent hubbies Cheeseburger Was subpar. Would I Return Never, unless I was stuck In 2 hour Traffic & Left with 40 Mins Till Showtime which is right Across the street and I was starving, Perhaps then I would Be Desperate & Revisit. Service was slow and our waiter was the bartender, but with a full bar and several tables taken I do not blame him but management for not getting him help.

While I don’t recommend trying to eat a meal with only an hour before a show the service was exceptional quick and well prepared. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

I have no friends so what else would I be doing but writing a Unilocal review. The waitress was very nice and said she liked my shirt. She was just a nice person in general. She reminds me of someone i used to be friends with but then they got cool on instagram. And the food was delicious, everyone at my table agreed. The reseraunt was very nice as well. 10⁄10 would recommend!

Good food on both occasions. I’ve been here about 5 times and what keeps bringing me back is their Bedstone. If you like bourbon, you need to try this drink. I have also tried a few other of their signature drinks and they are very good as well. My service was always awesome. A great find on my trip to NY. Last time in they didn’t pay attention to me, understaffed.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. Of course, I would never think of going to a restaurant in Times Square right before showtime — those who are expecting great food and service at that time are really unrealistic. Whenever I come to town, I always stop at Angus, usually around 5 or 5:30 pm or late-night. I’ve always had impeccable, fast, friendly service, offering options of where to sit(I prefer the back for quiet, unless the weather is nice and a window seat is possible for people-watching). The Beer-Battered Fish and Chips and a Guinness is my go-to choice. Perfectly crispy batter and tender flaky fish, with a flavor that goes perfect with the malt vinegar. Fantastic fries. It’s expensive for fish and chips, but given the convenient location and the quality of the experience, I keep coming back. Update: Two more years of coming back for their fish and chips and it continues to be outstanding. I’m pleased to see that they’re renovating and adding a fish and chip shop next to the restaurant.

I used to go there in 2004, and tonight I returned there for the first time to get my favorite dish: Moules Frites. My friend and I shared the Mediterranean salad with the extra sirloin steak, and as an entrée, we both had the Moules Frites with the creamy delicious white sauce, with bacon and peas. Amazing!!! Service is what you get in most NYC Theater district restaurants, young actors and musicians trying to make ends meet living the dream. This restaurant is well known, and has been around for a while, it is often that you will run into a celebrating having dinner before their near by Broadway Show. It is across the street from Phantom, and half a block from Times Square, so it is very convenient. I didn’t care for the apple cherry crumble, I should have had the brownie.

When this place opened years ago, it really filled a need in the area and was much better. Just went last night after years away and it was disappointing. Service at the bar was friendly for me(offered tastes of wines before choosing), but everything just felt a little chintzy with corners being cut everywhere – presumably to keep costs down. It is reasonably priced considering the location, but that means cheap silverware, a scrap of torn paper for a placemat and paper napkin and a summer camp child’s plastic tumbler for a water glass. Wine selection is drinkable, but served in tiny cheap glasses literally filled to the brim. $ 36NY Strip ordered medium-rare came out medium-well and under seasoned. If you need quick and edible, it’s okay. But there are so many better options.

Stopped in on a Sunday at 8p. almost no one here… should have been my first warning. The service was horrible. They’d be better with a line at a register, than this sad excuse for table service. I asked no less than 3 people for another beer, napkins and water. and still waited. I orders their burger superieur for $ 25 with promises of burger heaven. It wasn’t worth $ 5…flavorless, sad little toppings, a cube of Brie. Sad. My son had the $ 11 junior burger, it was babe 2.5 oz flavorless burger. My daughter had the short ribs that were actually really good. But I wont be back, and suggest you find some where else to spend your money. They were unapologetically horrible.

It was ok… Got escargot, Chardonnay, and rigatoni a’inferno. Pasta was okay not the best. Not horrible tho. Escargot and wine was good. I liked the ambiance and little Italy type comfortable setting more than the food.
