My family’s go to diner in the city. Herald square has many fast food places but this little gem is great for a nice sit down meal with families and friends. I love the grill cheese and delicious burgers. The staff is super friendly. Every visit makes me think I’m in the suburbs not in the bustling city. Definitely a great spot!

I thought the food was amazing. They have brick oven and make great pizzas. I also had the special which was a cheese and bacon stuffed burger. They certainly dont skimp out. Prices are not expensive either! Service was OK nothing great but what do you expect at a diner. Good little place id go back.

I’ve been taking some classes at NYREI around the corner, so I’ve stopped here a few times for lunch. The food is really cheap, and the wait for a table is never long. While it isn’t anything special, the food is actually decent, the service is quick(at least in my experience) and I’ve never left disappointed.

Andrews is just your average diner in the second most touristy area in New York City. My friend and I tried the apple pie a la mode and it was just an average experience. There really isn’t anything else left to say.

Not a good diner, mediocre food, crappy service. The only good thing is it’s location next to Penn Station and its seating capacity. Doesn’t matter now anyway, it’s closed. Go to the Bistro that opened up next door if you want a sandwich or go a block down to Skylight if you want a diner…

I work above this Andrew’s so it happens to be a convenient sit-down restaurant close to work. But this place BLOWS!!! I understand this restaurant is located in tourist hell, so they kind of have the leverage to 1. Overcharge and 2. Serve subpar food because the tourists will pay for it. No need for repeat customers I suppose. First thing — if you’re stopping for quick takeout breakfast, the service is rude. Not something I need when I’m already not happy to be up and on my way to work. The guy with the bagel and coffee cart outside is much nicer and less expensive. For other meals, Andrew’s really makes sure they don’t go out of their way to provide a diverse or appealing menu like most diners. There is mostly sandwiches, which I suppose is fine except the selection of sandwiches is dull and uninspired. From my NYC diner experience and just dining experiences all around, when you order and sandwich it usually includes some semblance of a side dish — even if just a small cup of cole slaw. At Andrew’s they don’t even go as far as to garnish the very empty plate containing your two sandwich halves, which aren’t that satisfying to begin with. My hope was at LEAST for some kale that I could try to snack down on after my sandwich left me still hungry. They do have side items on the menu however — for like 4 or 5 bucks a piece. For lunch? No thanks! I ordered a salad one time as well, which I had to add grilled chicken to for an extra $ 3. The lettuce was barely chopped up so I had huge pieces of iceberg lettuce. In addition to the salad basically being a head of iceberg laid on a plate, the other veggies — tomato and onion — were sliced big enough to be place on top of a very large burger. So for my salad I basically spent 10 minutes trying to chop the damn thing up with my sorry butter knife. The worst part however was the electric magenta«raspberry vinaigrette» served on the side with it. I think it was really just watered down preserves, because it had a faint, unappetizing mild sweetness with no hints of any other flavor. It is definitely in my top 5 of worst salads eaten in my lifetime. Sodas are also $ 2, non refillable. LAME — I pump myself full of carbonation so I eat less. Isn’t that what everyone does? Ummm… Either way, Andrew’s is convenient but that’s about all it has going for it.

Pretty good place next to Lowes 34th street movie theater. It was quiet, and quaint. The waitress was nice. I had a western omelet and my date had a chicken mozzarella sandwich. Both were very good. I also had a decaf coffee, that was nice and full of flavor. Tasted as good as regular. They have a good variety of items on menu. I have had their brick oven pizza and it is the best. So something for every palette.
