Seemed to have pretty fresh food even on the hot buffet. Heard lots of fuss about the Amish market. Didn’t meet to much expectation but customer service was well.

Worst sandwich ever. Bread was stale, cheese was hard, turkey had ice in it, and sandwich maker had the worst attitude as tho he was doing me a favor. Horrible experience. Never going back, don’t waste your time, they make believe like its good wholesome food, horrible food!!!

If someone told me a year ago that I would be excited to go grocery shopping, I never would’ve believed them. Pros — Gourmet /fancy stuff, some of which is not terribly expensive — Great, fresh produce — You can now order takeout from them on Seamless! Amazing. Cons — Sometimes they don’t carry certain staples /basic brands. They’re too indie for that. — A little pricey. but honestly not that much worse than other less exciting grocery stores nearby.

Really not sure what the negative reviews are about. Gristedes, Food Emporium, D’Agostino? Have you ever been to these dank, depressing overpriced grocery stores in the city? The Amish Market is a freaking Promised Land of manna and honey compared to these NYC markets. If you’re not in the mood to claw your way through Whole Foods in the Midtown West area, this is the place to go.

One of the best parts of living in Hell’s Kitchen! I love the prepared foods and their selection of groceries. Their salad bar may be the best in midtown.

Just found out about Amish Market from my good friend(Pete) — looking forward to all the options that they have here.

What a great find! I feel like it is a mini Whole Foods as they offer so much variety. Anything you need to make a great meal you can find it here. Excellent place to find Gluten free products that aren’t inflated prices. I had no idea what a great place this was when I entered as it is pretty big. They also provide a hot food bar. They have a small amount of tables for dinning.

First of all, what is the proper pronunciation of ‘Amish’? I go to Amish Market all the time because they have an excellent selection of organic and gourmet foods available at a convenient location. The produce is always fresh and the buffet always has a great selection of hot food. I also like the coffee area, the seating, the general shelf foods selection, and brands throughout the store. I am actually really into pretty much everything here except the deli section. The deli section always fails me. Dry chicken cutlets and mediocre cold fish salads galore… Lucky for me, I am not a big meat eater. Overall, I enjoy Amish and am very happy to have them in Hell’s Kitchen.

STAYAWAY! This used to be my favorite market, but they’ve gone downhill. Their latest trick is to not bag your items and put them back on the shelves. When I called about it, thinking it might be an accident, I was hung up on twice. So unless you like being ripped of, STAYAWAY.

Sort of a small premium goods market, not as fancy as say, Whole Foods or Trader Joes, but better than your average grocery store. There’s a lot of specialty items, such as imported jams and jellies, and all sorts of cookies, biscuits, crackers, and chips. You’ll find a lot of familiar brands of things, but this place will carry flavors that you didn’t know existed. Happened to stop by here on my way from the west side. I was just browsing, but ended up getting some English cheddar, French cornichons, Italian mortadella, and some ramen, just to give you an idea of the type of things they carry in this market. Could have gotten more things, but I didn’t want to overdo it. Prices were on the higher end, although not shockingly so.

Lovely little store with a pretty vast selection. It looked a lot smaller from the street, but you’ll be surprised how big it turns out to be. I found the prices pretty fair for the area and the staff very helpful and friendly. Their bakery and deli look amazing and definitely will be coming back to try it out.

The Amish Market is extremely convenient, but fairly pricey overall. My experience with the produce has been uniformly good, including fabulous ripe nectarines and adorably tasty miniature bananas, and the convenience of having cooking ingredients like flour and spices right down the street almost makes up for the prices, which are high compared to other supermarkets. Everyone there is friendly, and it really is hard to beat the location.

Solid market in a convenient location. Wish there was more of an organic produce selection. Lots of great meat options.

Can’t really comment on the fruits and vegetables here, but I do find this place really convenient. I enjoy stopping by and picking up their sandwiches. For $ 7 I can get a sandwich that can last me two meals. Pretty good deal from my perspective. I did notice that their other products can be a little pricey and tend to stay away from those.

This place is a real treasure. Great selection, quality product, decent ambiance, and did I mention great selection? Bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Lots of fresh healthy choices. When I wandered in off the street, my immediate response was«wow this is great!» Entering from the street all you see is produced, produce, produce. But go back and you find a huge variety of foods. It’s a complete grocery in a compact space. Whether you need snacks or provisions this is a great place to go.

Good quality products. All looks clean, nice selection of healthy products that are hard to find in other places. There is a buffet section. The options are limited, but look ok.

Come here only for particular crackers from Israel. that is it. I would never buy a produce here: 1) Extremely overpriced. 2) Extremely not fresh. Have got an expired and rotten cheese. A few times. I wouldn’t even TRY to get close to their meat or buffet… Buy at your own risk.

There’s a small smoothie bar in the corner of the market. You can pick from a pre selected menu or make your own. The smoothie are fantastic but I’m not too excited over the prices. A medium size smoothie is $ 6.99. They have a wide range of healthy snacks throughout the market, some of which I’ve never heard of but was tempted to try. They also had a whole selection of Tate’s cookies with more flavors than I’ve ever seen before at a market. Was very happy to get my hands on the a Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Cookies.

I used to stop by here all the time on my way to and from places. Its a tiny supermarket, even compared to others in NYC, but its functional. You will likely find what you need here. Especially the veges. They have some unique things in this store. I recently ate from the food bar, and it was only OK(dinged a star for this). But for groceries this is a reasonable place to stop if in the area.
