I work about a block down from the restaurant. My coworkers and I order from there frequently. There lunch specials have amazing prices that can’t be beat… Today I dined in had the yellowtail jalapeño and Tuna tartare it was delicious. The avocado pieces melted in my mouth. Wasn’t disappointed at all!

AWFULCUSTOMERSERVICE!!! I’ve been eating from this place for about 3 – 4 years’ now. I work and live super close. I’ve had a delivery man a few months ago tell me «fuck you». I told the restaurant and he is no longer allowed in my building. That didn’t stop me from ordering because it was just a delivery man after all. Today, I ordered lunch from my office at 12:45pm. It was past 2:10pm and I called multiple times for my order. I triple checked my address, which stated my office address. They were yelling at me on the phone I wasn’t opening the door. They delivered to the wrong address and was trying to turn it around on me as if I put the wrong address. They DIDNOT apologize and just cancelled my order and hung up. They didn’t offer anything to me after making me wait so long. It would’ve been another 15+ minutes until it would get to me. The least they could’ve done was give me a sincere apology… DONOTGIVETHEMBUSINESS!!!

have really enjoyed myself both times i was here. place has two floors so even though there were plenty of large groups already eating, my parties were seated pretty quickly both times. sushi list is pretty expansive(my dad raved about the nasdaq roll), and it didn’t cost a fortune for a nicer beer which was nice. my sister really liked her sesame chicken and thai style fried rice(they offered it a few ways). good spot, glad i have it so close.

This. Place. Is. Great. My friend and I stumbled into this gem after seeing some Upper West Side Theatre and were pleasantly surprised to see that the happy hour runs until 9p.m. 9 P. M! They have select $ 2 beer, $ 3 wine, and $ 6 cocktails. I happily ordered my favorite dirty vodka martini and sipped it while noshing on some ala carte sushi. I always favor an Alaska roll and eel. The service was quick and they were attentive but not hovering. I highly recommend this place for an evening of catching up or simply a happy hour destination.

Was introduced to this place by a coworker. We went around 12:30pm with a huge crowd all waiting to be seated. We waited for about 10 minutes before being taken upstairs to a table by the stairs. My colleague and I picked two dishes from lunch menu with reasonable prices, shrimp red curry and vegetable red curry that come with soups of our choices. I ordered hot and sour soup which tasted mediocre whereas my coworker who ordered wanton soup complained about her soup tasting disgusting. After the unpleasant soup experience, we waited for our main entrée for at least half an hour before we realized that our waitress had completely forgotten about our orders– what a waste of our time during an already short lunch break! The head waitress came to apologize about their negligence and assured that our food would be ready soon. 10 minutes later, we finally got to taste our entrée and found it to be just as disappointing as the soup. THE food simply tasted too plain, contradictory to the golden principle upheld by any great Asian restaurant– spicy, flavorful and more spicy! In addition, the shrimps tasted not so fresh either which made me feel a little nauseous at work now. Hopefully I will be able to make it through this long-ass meeting: P Anyway, not a huge fan of this place and wouldn’t recommend it to my Asian fellas.

Trusty lunch spot with co-workers when you want to eat out but don’t want to spend mucho $$$. Lunch specials are ridiculously reasonably priced. I basically get crispy shredded beef every single time I come here because it is delightful.

I first walked into the restaurant and it seemed very nice and neat. The food was good. The issue was that staff and the waiter were in such a rush to hurry you out the door. It was very unpleasant when you have the waiters hovering over you to see when you are going to finish and to pay for the check. Not a pleasant experience for going the 1st time. Food was good, the price was good, having in mind that you are in Midtown. Tried to speak to a manager on duty and was told there wasn’t any. Not too much you can do to address the issue.

We made a reservation for a Friday night. When we arrived it was packed and I quickly realized they didn’t save us a table, so we waited for someone to leave to be able to sit down. The place is very loud. Food is absolutely average. Nothing special. Low quality standard food. Tea was served in a placid cup. Chopsticks were wooden out of the paper package. Overall a poor experience.

This lunch spot was recommended to me by a colleague when I asked for any reasonable priced places in midtown east that had quick carryout. In the sea of sit-down restaurants, I was glad that this place not only quick, but lunch specials are priced right. I’ve had food from here a few times, and used both the phone and online ordering. Regardless of the method of ordering, the food is always quick and ready and waiting for my arrival. I only dock stars because a few times food has been bland and lacking some flavor and during the peak lunch rush hours, I wish they would allow you to pick up and pay for your food instead of waiting in the same line as people placing orders to go. Once I had to wait 15 additional minutes to get my food, which was sitting on the bar and ended up being lukewarm by the time I was able to take it back to my desk. Also their lunch items are pricier on the sit down menu than carryout, perhaps a premium for having food in the restaurant?

I know this is one of Anna H’s favorite lunch spots, but after being spoiled by Mapo Tofu, I can’t give it more than 3 stars. The food is a bit too bland for my taste — I know, I know… mama always says that I have to go easy on the sodium but. dayummmmm, when I’m getting Chinese food, chill with the health talk. I ordered(for delivery) a Thai basil chicken and some spicy dumplings(not for me, but I tried one). Neither were that great, and in fact, I think the thai basil chicken got me a bit sick. I was nauseous towards the end of the day after having had half the plate. There was also very few pieces of chicken. Perhaps the main chef was out that day, but I’m inclined to put this towards the end of my rotation list of Chinese restaurants near my office.

My go to spot for a quick lunch. Lunch special is under $ 10 and very quick service. Sushi special(3 rolls) for $ 11. I wouldn’t say it is the best sushi I had but for roughly $ 10, who can complain. If you work around midtown east and need a quick lunch spot, amaze is it.

Decided to take out from Amaze on Tuesday for lunch and I’m EXTREMELY disappointed. The sushi tasted so awful and not ediable that I had to throw it out. I wasted $ 11 dollars on a lunch that went in the garbage. It honestly tasted as if there were so many extra ingredients and debatably another type of fish combined into this roll. Maybe the fish wasn’t fresh? I ordered two spicy tuna avocado rolls and got rolls that tasted similar to salmon, but couldn’t even figure it out. This experience with Amaze was so upsetting/awful that I will never have sushi from Amaze again. Upsetting considering they’re right near my office.

Intimate setting, but still enjoyed some drinks and wings. I’m guilty, I broke my 5 years of vegetarianism for some hot wings. I’m ashamed. Anywho the wings were so freaking good. The sauce wasn’t too hot or too sweet it was just a perfect combo. The price? Reasonable. Cleanliness? Very clean, even the unisex restroom. Vibe? Pleasant. Amaze does tend to get busy, from what I’ve seen walking by. I recommend trying the wings and grabbing a nice cold brew.

Great deal on happy hour drinks! $ 3 beer, $ 4 glass of wine. I like the quality of food, but service can be better. A few times I was served by a rude waitress. I get it, we all have bad days, but it doesn’t mean you have to be rude to your customers. I like the place, but sometimes it is hard to find a seat. The tables are very close to each other, so it is hard to get any privacy. Feels like you are having a lunch/dinner at a huge table with strangers. But if you don’t care about ambience, I recommend the place.

I go to Amaze a few times a week for lunch. Their sushi is fresh, fast and their restaurant is clean. The price is just right, check out their lunch specials specifically.

Bargain lunch specials here all day, every day! An Asian fusion restaurant specialized in combination specials for work lunch. It offers dishes from Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, and Japanese cuisines all in one place. Considerably a decent spot that has something that will suit anyone’s taste. I opt in for a Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box. The miso soup makes its way to me first. Bento Box comes after with salad, shumai, California Roll sushi, and Salmon Teriyaki with your choice of brown or white rice. Salmon Teriyaki was really dry but crispy on the outside. The sweet teriyaki sauce aided it. California roll comes in four pieces; the avocado was fresh! For all this food, it is only around $ 10.00. I did enjoy the little bit of everything that I got out of this combo. Décor is minimal with Buddha sculptures here and there just to stay simple. Atmosphere seemed more like a quick sit-down lunch and take-out sort of vibe. Get here before or at 12:00PM on the dot, the place gets packed quickly.

My coworkers and I were looking for a close place nearby for lunch and stumbled upon this restaurant. The interior is very nice and cool-looking. The first thing I noticed about the food is that people really like the sesame chicken lunch special. But because I don’t like white meat, I opted for their sushi lunch. I wish I went with the chicken because it looked a lot more tasty when my friend ordered it. The sushi lunch is pretty cheap but didn’t blow me away. I would come again if I’m really short on time and money though.

I hardly ever get the chance to write fiction masquerading as thinly veiled nonfiction anymore(aka Lena Dunham’s professional career to date), and no one wants to read about a scintillating tale of a california roll unless it somehow involves Jiro making a guest appearance, so here is How Grandpa Got His Groove Back.(also so I don’t get booted off Unilocal for turning this into a Livejournal entry there will be attenuated references to the actual restaurant) Grandpa is in his mid-60s, with glasses and a beer gut that enters the room before he does, and wears an elaborate cardigan that looks both very expensive and very ugly(in other words, I immediately covet it). Grandpa probably uses the word«whippersnapper» in daily life and when he drinks too much schnapps. Nevertheless, Grandpa has somehow managed to pull massive game, because he walks in with a blonde who is two galaxies away from his batting league, demands that she sit next to him as opposed to across from him, and sidles his hand up her sweet young knee. Grandpa now finds himself in a bit of a predicament. Grandpa wants an evening in a hip Midtown establishment alone with Baby, supping $ 5 saketinis(one star) and maybe navigating the uncharted territory of mid-thigh this time. Instead, Grandpa gets squeezed into a windowless box on the second floor with four twenty-somethings who are already a few drinks in and plowing through a third order of sushi pizza(two stars). Grandpa is not pleased but swallows his displeasure, because Baby has just muttered some sweet nothing into his ear. Yessir, this evening looks promising: no distractions(the waitress has decided to treat their cozy private room as the next black hole), the drinks are actually quite boozy, and Baby is flushed and showing acres of leg. She leans forward, «Oh, Grandpa, I just …» The table of horrible girls bursts into a cacophony of drunken laughter. Dammit. «What was that, Baby?» «I said, I want to-» «You want to do what?» Grandpa has had enough. This is his night, dammit. He pushes his chair back, Baby’s hand on his arm tightens, he puffs his chest out, and hollers, «TOOLOUD! It’s getting too loud in here.”* Grandpa is triumphant. Adrenaline swishes down his veins. One girl mutters, «Well, it’s only going to get louder.» Grandpa is not going to take such back-talk lying down. «Well, you’re going to have to be quiet until we finish our meal.» The girl shoots back: «We just ordered a fifth round of drinks and we have food on the way.» Grandpa vows to eat every last shred of the seaweed salad to out-stay such a disrespectful hooligan. The girls turn back to their story, but in much quieter tones, Baby is shaking with pride**, and Grandpa has a sudden urge to unbutton his shirt, kick his legs onto the table, and smoke a cigar. Never mind the fact that he almost got into a screaming match with people forty years younger. Total domination has suddenly whetted his appetite, he devours one eel roll after the other(because raw fish gives you cancer), and Baby is tugging on his sleeve to leave. Before they do, though, he can’t resist flashing two fingers at the other table. V for Victory. Fin. *Here is where you spoiled the punchline of a joke that had been percolating in my brain for two months. Jerk. **Pretty sure your girl kept trying to shush you but it’s okay — I’ll let you have your moment in the sun. Thanks for the live entertainment, Amaze! Too bad your host should be the picture next to «hot mess» in Webster’s, your waitress forgot about us, and you stuck us in an airless«private room» next to Grandpa.

Stopped earlier with my friend for a quick bite during our lunch breaks. Good thing I made a reservation ahead of time and be sure all parties are there until the host can seat you at a table. I flipped to the back of the menu where you can find Lunch Specials. Food: Chicken Katsu with brown rice and salad(my order) and Garlic Sauce Beef with brown rice and sweet & sour soup The service was quick and my friend’s order came out before my Chicken Katsu so I had to wait a bit. When I got my food finally, the Chicken Katsu was very crispy and delicious pairing with the dipping sauce. Definitely a must if you are around the neighborhood for lunch!

We went here during the busy lunch hour rush. The place was pretty packed. Being so busy, they had a very high turnover time. From the time we were ready to order to the when we paid our bill, the whole lunch took less than 30 minutes. I’ve never had such quick service! I did feel a bit pressure to rush my meal, but I did see the long line of people waiting to eat. The sushi was very good! They really know how to make good sushi despite making everything so quickly. The staff was friendly and were very welcoming. Definitely a great place to go, even during the lunch hour rush!
