Unlike so many of the reviews here, I too used a groupon(5 apps, 1 dessert, 1 bottle of wine), but still had an absolutely wonderful experience with Alma 33. So I’m a bit late w/the review, but the bf and I came here for our valentine’s dinner the night before. They were out of sangria so we had to go with wine, so shared a nice bottle of malbec. Our tapas of choice were: empanada, tomato bread with jamon serrano, fried polenta with short ribs, skirt steak skewers, and crostini with chorizo. Unfortunately about 5 of the tapas were unavailable that evening, including a few we had wanted, so we were forced to branch out. I thought all the tapas were good. My favorites were the short ribs and the steak skewers. Yes, tapas portions are small and expensive, but the groupon made it reasonable and for some reason we were full by the end of our meal, so I guess it wasn’t too small. I would enjoy coming back for an evening of wine and tapas. Our server was friendly, the décor was dimly lit and chic, and the food was fresh.
