Algonquin Theater

chose to take my family to a production at this theater. its a good choice if you like small venues as we do. it seats the perfect size audience. we saw an evening at the carlyle. i can’t say that the story line was that great but there were funny moments and cast members were talented. we enjoyed our evening there. yes, i agree with the previous review that you need to have snacks before. there was no intermission for our show. seats could be more comfortable. we purchased our tickets through the tdf which i would say is good if you qualify for a discounted ticket. tdf offers lower prices so that more people can be exposed to the theater. there are reviews for tdf on Unilocal too. wish i coud offer a suggestion for dinner after the theater but we chose to go outside the area afterwards. we dressed up as it is fun and i think it more respectable to those in the production who are working so hard at putting on a quality and special event. i found that too many guests were in jeans and shorts! yikes!

This theater is new, and small, intimate in size and style. I have attended 2 productions at the Algonquin Theater, and enjoyed both! The first play that I saw was called SESSIONS, and the second AN EVENING AT THE CARLYLE. Both productions were great with wonderful singing and cast! I would return to this theater in the future .If you prefer larger theater venues this may not be the place for you. If you enjoy an intimate smaller venue with great view of stage where ever you sit than this is the place!
Arrive early and eat snacks before actual play starts because any sound you make after play starts will be very distracting and noticable to others.
