The worst manicure I’ve ever had. Went in on NYE for a gel manicure — they all fell off two days later. And the two days that I had them on I had to look at nails that looked a mess — all outside the lines, like a kid did them. Complete rip-off, they don’t know what they’re doing. I went back in(using my precious vacation time) but the one woman who does nails wasn’t in for the day. So nothing was corrected and I was out $ 55. Take your money elsewhere to people who know what they’re doing.

I’d give this review zero stars but unfortunately that’s not an option. This was the worst manicure I’ve ever gotten. The shop is in a prime location for foot traffic which is how I stumbled upon it today– I needed a manicure at lunch and it was the closest spot to my office. The older Middle Eastern woman who worked there was very sweet but way past her prime for employment. She asked me to choose a different color because her hands were shaking so much she ended up painting all over my nails and my fingers– I chose a bright red and didn’t want to switch the color. If she’s there to give a manicure she should be able to do it with any color. When she cleaned my hands, she used a paper towel that had remnants of her dried up lunch on it– yellow rice. I was disgusted by how dirty this salon was. I ended up leaving with a botched up manicure which I needed to redo myself at home later on. I really hope that older woman can retire, she shouldn’t be working there and that salon needs a major renovation or at least a cleaning. I’m glad they didn’t cut my nails or cut my cuticles because I’d be worried about getting something from how unsanitary the conditions were. Will not return to this place, I’m better off doing my own nails at home.

I’ve been here quite a few times and have loved it. The place is small, but I don’t need much when I’m happy with the end results.

Worst Gel Manicure EVER! A lady Zena worked on my today and although she was polite the shop had terrible outdated equipment. She proceeded to use an electric file machine to file the old gel off my nails effectively destroying my nail beds. She left polish on my finger skin and cuticles. The gel coming out of the bottle was chunky and now my nails are not smooth but instead bumpy. I truly feel like a 5 year old did my nails. I was charged 30 for the manicure and 5 for the soak off. The shop owner proceed to charge me a total of 38 saying it was tax. I checked the tax laws for NYC and found that the tax on a manicure service is 4.5% so the bill should have been 36.5 not 38. This place is a total rip off — ladies do yourself a favor and even if your in a pinch go somewhere else!

Read a few reviews on Unilocal, since it was close to my hotel. Exceeded my expectations. Tatiana is fantastic! Not only did i have the best gel manicure, but it still looks great 2 weeks later. No frills — none needed. When I travel back to NYC, I’ll go no where else.

I will say that over the years they have cleaned up their act. It is much cooler, cleaner and the staff seems professional and accommodating. Ana is the best eyebrow technican I have ever had. Book her.

I love going to see Anna for my eyebrows, and let me tell you, they look AMAZING! Seriously, I read some of the reviews and quite frankly I think they are very over dramatized. I mean, seriously, this is not the Red Door for crying out loud. In addition to it not being the Ritz Carlton, the service is top shelf and it may be small and cramped but it is not unsanitary and I’ve had all of their services so far. I have sent many of my friends and business associates there and they all love it, and love Anna. These are high end executives too. I suggust the whiners park their high horse and get down off it for a while.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. DIRRRRRRRRRTYYYYYYYYYY. beware! This place needs to get checked my the Health Inspector because it is so cramped and dirty, it’s unreal. I also find it a little strange that it also accepts Gold for cash. This place should be charging $ 15 mani/pedis for the service they offer. I would never go back in fear of getting some disease from the equipment they use to cut my nails. The people are nice but you can tell they are not experienced nail technicians.

Came here on a whim since I had to switch lunch hours and wanted to avoid the inevitable wait at my go-to nail salon. Its alright. There’s two pedicure stations and maybe 3 manicure stations and a very small drying station. In terms of color selection, they could have a few more, but at least they have the majority of Essie reds, all the neutral pinks, whites and beiges and, my favorite, the neons and a couple other funky(AWESOME) colors which I will probably be back for. I’ll just say, this was the quickest mani I’ve ever gotten and not in a good way. She seemed like she knew what she was doing, but I felt rushed. My manicurist put on glops of polish, which resulted in bubbles all throughout my manicure. They have my favorite dryers — the ones with UV and fan — perfection… except when you have too much nail polish on. For $ 10 + tip, I don’t know if a manicure alone is enough to entice me back here.

I am still looking for my go-to nail spot in my new hood. It was been a deep struggle and the struggle continues. In my old hood, you could go to a large nail salon complete with 7 pedicure stations 5 manicure stations with a nice massage room and get reasonably priced services(I.e. $ 25 pedicure, $ 8 manicure). Here, you get the same prices, and they also have a really great weekday special that I will never get to take advantage of because of my crazy schedule. But, the difference here is that this shop is small, cramped with only 2 pedicure and manicure stations each. The hygiene is questionable, but there were not any obvious red flags so I stayed. It was a nice quick pedicure. Not particularly relaxing since the pedicure chairs did not have built in massagers… unacceptable! I was highly disappointed. Basically it was not the type of place that I felt like lingering, but a quick fix for my toes that were in desperate need of some attention. Other than that, nothing special. Good price for the area, but still not a relative value. I will probably be back since it’s close by though.

This is my favorite nail place I’ve ever been to. They’re nice and efficient and not too expensive — and they always do a wonderful job. Monday-Wednesday they also have a manicure+pedicure special for $ 30. My only complaint is that they are Visa/MC only — no AmEx. –j
