Came here on a late Saturday after a cruise party. Their kitchen is open until midnight, so it was one of a few of options at the time. I have passed by the hotel many times before and noticed of how beautiful and elegant the place is. The lobby has a high ceiling and wide open space. It looks to me like a grand university’s study room with dim lights from many small hanging ceiling lights. Many tables, chairs, sofas and power plugs are available on the floors. Many business travelers and guests are in the lobby busy with their electronic devices, chatting or drinking and eating. There are a bar further back in the lobby, John Dory Oyster Bar on the right room and The Breslin Bar & Dining Room on the left. We ordered food from a waiter in the lobby: –Terrine Board: excellent bread and amazing cheese. Don’t know if it’s because I’m hungry, but haven’t tasted a bread that good. Flavorful and soft. –Chargrilled lamb burger with feta, cumin mayo & thrice cooked chips. Excellent after much alcohol. Chefs here are well known, and they even have cookbooks on available on site if you are interested in making the same food at home. Another cool thing in this lobby is the classic photo booth by the stairway to the left, which prints great quality of black and white photos. Definitely a place to visit

Just left the hotel lobby bar. Food was eh. Service was eh. The real kicker is that the pen I used to pay my $ 65 tab was leaking ink EVERYWHERE and was all over the leather thing the check was in… The ink got on me and my expensive new silk dress. When I told the waitress, she said nothing except that she would throw out the pen. My brand new dress is ruined and I didn’t even get an apology. Would never go here again. Especially not when 4 glasses of prosecco and an order of fries total $ 65 and a ruined dress.

Prior to my stay I’d never actually been in an Ace before, but a friend of mine loves the chain, so I decided to give the hotel a try. Overall the experience was great! The Ace is in a nice location(blocks from the Empire State building and very close to a subway station) and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was comparably priced to other hotels in the area.(I mean, let’s be honest, nothing in NYC is cheap!) Fair warning: if you have zero patience for twee hipster ambiance the Ace is not for you. But I love a meticulously-themed design scheme, so I was immensely charmed by the hotel’s industrial vibe. Exposed light bulbs, metal fixtures, muted color palette – I ate it all up with an artisanally crafted spoon. The hotel staff was very nice every time I talked to them. My room, while not huge, was perfectly spacious for a New York hotel. I was traveling solo, but would have been comfortable with another person in there. The bathroom was skinny but surprisingly long, with a very large tiled rain shower in the corner(no tub, which was fine by me). I was impressed with how well the hotel used the room’s limited space; things like irons and hairdryers hung from bags on hooks instead of taking up valuable room elsewhere. There was no closet, just a standing clothes rack to hang your wardrobe on(again, fine by me). The do not disturb sign was a magnet that you slapped to the front of your door. Every detail in the room was perfectly coordinated with the hotel’s industrial theme. I’m not the best person to judge the noise factor of a hotel room as I live in a large city myself and am accustomed to the ambient sounds of a major metropolis. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, but you are staying in New York, so keep that in mind. The room was always immaculately clean thanks to the stellar housekeeping staff, and my bed was perfectly comfy. There was one light(a giant metal swivel lamp) that I could not for the life of me figure out how to turn on, but it wasn’t that big of a deal so I never bothered to call the front desk about it. My room had no view to speak of(it looked out onto two adjoining hotel walls), but who needs a view with NYC as your playground? I didn’t hang out in the hotel lobby much. As others have mentioned it’s a sea of macbooks during the day, which I found a little odd. Unless you’re traveling for work, how many people bring their laptops on a trip? Other reviews have postulated that the people chilling in the lobby aren’t hotel guests, which seems like a logical conclusion to me. I was never in the lobby for more than a few minutes so I didn’t have to hunt for a seat, but I can see how it would be annoying for paying guests who do want to plop down for a while. My only true negative experience occurred after my stay when I received an emailed bill for minibar use. Having never taken anything from the minibar you can imagine my surprise. The problem was easy enough to fix with a simple phone call, but I found it odd that it happened at all.(By the way, the going rate for a bag of nuts and a bottle of water [my supposed purchases] from an Ace minibar is apparently $ 20). Despite the one minor hiccup, I did very much enjoy my stay at the Ace, and I’ll be sure to consider the chain for future trips as well!

My flight out of NYC was cancelled and I was trying to maintain a positive attitude, fairly successfully. I chose the Ace for my unexpected extra night because of three considerations: 1.) Good rate for the room 2.) very close to a friend’s apartment and 3.) the same friend had shown me the lobby and bar of the Ace and they were both very nice. While checking in my mood improved dramatically thanks to Lindsey(sp?) who was an absolute joy to interact with. The rooms are very hipster, but actually cool and not annoying. I loved the retro fridge. It looked great and was well stocked. Everything about the room was enjoyable. Later that evening my friend joined me at the bar where Ryan and Sheena(sp?) had us laughing for several hours. They were greatness. Ryan also turned me on to an excellent bourbon called Widow Jane which I’ll be trying to find now. Oh, the coffee shop that’s attached also has great coffee and I’m not really a coffee drinker! So, to summarize: great price, beautiful hotel, interesting rooms, and, most important, GREATPEOPLE! A final thank you again to Lindsey, Ryan, Sheena, and the Girl from Tustin. Apologies for any misspelled names. All of you were wonderful and turned what could have been a fairly crappy day into a wonderful bonus night in Midtown!

Review for upstairs Bar area and appetizers. Ive been to Ace Hotel twice. Once for a comedy show downstairs which was a lot fun. Hope they have more of those. 2nd time i returned to meet a friend for drinks at the bar. NYC is expensive and well hotels are more expensive than that when it comes to drinking it up at their establishment. Ace is no different. Cans of beer $ 8 and i know cuz i tried to keep it cheap and that was the cheapest available dont judge! Cheapest beer $ 8 plus $ 2 tip = Crushed soul and can’t afford monthly metrocard next month. I’m a BOB(baller on a budget) My friend had a mixture of cheeses and bread and dip. These were top notch. I was surprised at the quality of the food. Cheese that you dip in honey? Didnt know cheese with honey could be such a good combo. Also the goat cheese was delicious as well. They also have lots of charging stations and a laptop area if you want to work while watching others get drunk I guess? Good ambiance, nice for a date, or to pretend you are balling for 1 night. All in all nice bar and lounge area to chill and have a drink just be prepared to pay a little extra because its in a hotel.

I booked a room to stay at this hotel for 3 nights through based on the fact that it advertises itself as a pet friendly hotel. Today when I came in around noon to check in with my cat, which I believe falls into the category of ‘pets’, they tell me ‘oh but that means dog friendly, we don’t actually accept cats’. Really? Then how about making your discrimination policy a bit more clear? So, I’ve been sitting here at the lobby for the past 3 hours on a beautiful spring day in NYC for their incompetent staff to find us a suitable accommodation. I haven’t stayed at this hotel yet, but the reservations manager just recommended me the Holiday Inn on 8th ave as an alternative. So, I’m assuming that that’s the standard they’re going for. EDIT: A total of 4 hours later — My husband arrived at the hotel. Now we’re both extremely frustrated because they still couldn’t find us another place that is within our budget and fulfils our expectations in terms of location and standard. I’ve practically wasted my whole day, our cat has been trapped in a box for hours, simply because the hotel misrepresented itself on the Internet. Sean(the reception manager or so) tells me that it’s not their fault, tried to blame saying it’s a 3rd party, I should have double checked with the hotel directly before bringing in my cat. bla bla bla… I reminded him that it’s 2016 and there is this thing called the Internet that people use so they don’t have to pick up a phone and double check stuff, and that I’ve been booking hotels on for about 10 years without problems, plus it’s certainly not my responsibility to check if the information provided on a reliable website is accurate or not… Whatever… Despite my numerous requests to speak to the hotel manager, they couldn’t find her either! So, finally I gave up. I went to , looked up for available pet friendly hotels in NYC. And there it is! In a matter of seconds, the whole list is displayed on my phone screen! So, I really have no idea what took the geniuses that I were dealing with 4 full hours to get to this information! I called the closest one on the list. The person on the phone told me that I can most certainly bring my cat to their hotel, they’re actually part of something called VIPaws program, part of the pet fee they charge($ 50 per stay regardless of duration) is donated to the Humane Society and they also provide beds, food and water bowls and toys for your pet if needed. Now that’s what I call«pet friendly»! One last thing. As we picked our bags and were ready to walk out of Ace, another receptionist named Tina came up to us to say she will happily waive the cancellation fee. Ha! Funny joke but I’ld be more amused if she did her job instead. My point is, if you’re a pet owner/lover please do yourself and your pet a favor and do not ever stay at this pretentious hotel! You can try Dumont NYC, which is only a few blocks away. It’s pretty decent, has huge rooms overlooking the Chrysler and they actually do like your pet. Honestly, the only thing it lacks is obnoxious hipsters with snooty attitudes, which I can happily live without.

This review is for the Lobby Bar. I have no experience with the hotel lodging(though based on the very hip décor of the lobby I’d bet it’s nice). I arrived at the Lobby Bar at 12:15 on a weekday after having heard that the Thrice Cooked Chips(ie: French Fries) were a must-try. I bellied up to the bar in the back of the lobby and was not greeted, but eventually a food menu was pushed my way. I called over a server and place my order of fries and the crudite plate. At no point during this interaction did the server(black woman with a blonde ‘do, for those who know the place) utter a single word or make eye contact. Not hello, welcome, thank you, what can I get you, nothing. The server entered my order into the computer and immediately handed me the bill. Who gives the bill BEFORE the food is even served?! Rude. Food came out after about 10 – 12 minutes. Crudite plate was thrown together without much care(basically a pile of food) and had cauliflower, radishes, cucumber, 2 baby carrots, and toasted pita bread. I point out that the pita bread was toasted because pita is generally fresh, and toasting bread is a typical way to cover up the stale bread. Of course this came with hummus which was good, if unmemorable. Fries were quite good. At no point during the meal did the server come over to refill my empty water or ask if everything good. When I finished I was finally ready to pay the prematurely given bill. I hailed down server and she took my credit card, again with no eye contact. Ran the card, and brought back for my signature without a thank you, come again, etc. or(again) eye contact. Suffice it to say her tip was crap, reflective of her service. I will NOT be back.

*** Review for hotel stay *** It’s been a long road trip and our group of buddies decided to splurge a bit and stay at ACE to offset our Hampton and Best Western streak. I know hipsters HATE being described as Hipster, But let’s call a spade a spade here. I must say, their attention to detail and the whole vibe as soon as you walk into the lobby and at the check in desk just gave you a chill vibe that just felt«right». Lobby had plenty of comfy leather couch seating for coffee and checking emails in the AM and to lounge and have a cocktail in the PM. They’ve got a bar, restaurant and coffee shop attached to the lobby here. The hipster, industrial rustic theme continued into the hotel’s hallways and once we were in the room, I was sold. Awesome mural on the wall, 2 comfy yet low key beds. Desk/dining table with notepads, some exposed shelving/storage and an old school fridge. Restroom continued the theme and had quality bath products at your disposal. There was even an acoustic guitar in the corner(though out of tune). I genuinely felt like I was staying at a buddy’s chill bachelor apartment in Flat Iron, New York! Though we spent our only night in NYC taking the city by storm and the room wasn’t put too much use, I thoroughly enjoyed this spot!

I stay in NYC a couple months out of the year. I normally stay at the Nomad around the corner from the ACE. When it was booked, I decided to try the ACE because I’ve stayed at the Palm Springs and DTLA locations and had nice stays. It’s a great location and right by the NR train. At frist my room was stuffy and faced inside. The weather was unseasonably warm, so I think they were having trouble with the thermostat. I explained this was an issue because it was too hot at night to sleep and the windows don’t really open more than an inch. Steven at the front desk helped me and moved me into a different room immediately and it was much more comfortable. The service was great and they were happy to help me during my extremely busy business trip that was 8 days long. I had an additional room for my employees and they enjoyed their stay. We would stay here again for sure. The coffee downstairs is absolutely amazing. Stumptown coffee knows what’s up and they have cookies from Momofuku Milk Bar. The lobby is fun to hang out in and I ate at The Breslin twice and it was great. My only comment is that the room service menu is a bit weird and everything is cooked in too much butter/cream or something. I wish they’d lighten it up, add a fruit cup and a salad with a protein and some oatmeal not cooked in cream. My colleagues felt the same. I’d order room service everyday if the menu was larger and healthier, but that’s just my opinion.

The hotel is very trendy and well styled. The staff was also very friendly. The room itself was adequate but tiny(as advertised). The first night we were basically gassed by the smell of weed coming out of the heater. In subsequent nights we had a variety of food smells also emanating from the vent system. There was a lot of construction noise coming from nearby but I guess that’s what you get with New York. The minibar was also ridiculously overpriced which annoys me in this day and age. On the last morning our hot water was not working, which on a cold day does not make for a pleasant shower. The location was great and Internet was also fast. Overall the stay was pleasant and I do not regret it but I wouldn’t book again, considering the price.

I didn’t actually stay here — what I did do was help my boyfriend set up a hotel room for his friend’s marriage proposal, and wow were the staff helpful! He was able to meet with them beforehand, and Jessica at the front desk was so excited to help! They viewed rooms, talked about setup, and Jessica took great notes for the day of. On that day, we were able to come in without a problem — Jessica was there and she recognized the bf, and figured out how to get us in the reserved room without tipping anyone off. The staff told us to let them know if we needed anything, and we went to work setting things up. A few hours and some housekeeping later, we were out of there and everything went flawlessly!

It has the typical, American hipster vibe. If you are from anywhere around the world and you want to feel the American«hipster» feels, spend a half hour or hour here. They have a café next door. A restaurant. A knick-knack store. It’s hard to find a spot, but if you just hang around, you’ll find one. You have to be aggressive, you see someone leaving, hover over them and make sure you get that seat. Others will be hovering too. Be assertive. Stumptown coffee is pretty good. I enjoyed it. I’d go back and I’d bring friends here because of the vibe. I can’t speak for the hotel though.

This is a great place for hanging out if you like hipsters and macbook air computers for days. The breslin is nice enough if expensive and tourist-filled. But I implore you, DONOTSTAYHERE. Was in town for business and stayed here for a night, instant regret. Room was tiny and expensive and hot as shit the entire night. We made a comment to the staff in the am and they asked us if we turned the heat off… um, no genius, we had it on full blast, you think thats why it was hot??? Worthless, lazy customer service… Also, $ 9 cans of beer in the lobby. Yup, tourist central.

This review is for the public lobby area as a study-spot! It’s definitely a great space to do some work on the computer, or sit back with a coffee or a drink socializing with a few friends. Nice after-dinner date spot too. Ambiance — During the day it’s relaxing and great atmosphere to do some reading. It’s brighter with some natural light, but still a bit dark. At night, it’s a very cozy/intimate lighting. It turns into more of a lounge so typically it’s lounge-type music. It gets busy after dinnertime since people come for drinks after work, especially Wed-Sat night. Other nights, it’s a quieter evening. You’ll find a variety of people here since it’s a great bar/lounge + hotel + Techie central! I noticed a lot of people come here to think/write/code/editting, etc. — Definitely an interesting people-watching spot! Space — Huge comfy chairs/couches, a long communal table(WITHOUTLETS!), more lounge seating at the bar area + tables & chairs here and there. Lots of seating. It feels very«grand» in there because of the columns, and high ceilings — which I love! Food — Dinner menu is your basic american-type menu. I usually get fries to nibble on as I do work, and other foods didn’t disappoint. Service– Great! It’s a lobby but also a lounge, so people will come around to serve you. I like that they don’t bother you to order anything if you want to just sit down to do work. I see a lot of people come just to hang-out. Overall: — Free Wifi — Great Service — Coffee = stumptown — Food is decent — Public lobby open 24⁄7! Great for night owls trying to get some work done — Interesting, inspiring space that attracts a multitude of people :) — Outlets all over — you’ll see other people using them too — Amazing space!

You can come here any night of the week and have a ball just hanging out in the lounge. Good times are guaranteed, whether you’re here to work or to play, by your awesome self or with a ginormous posse. The crowd is young but not immature(adults only here), hippish but not pretentious, and the beats are generally on point, with a tendency to get louder and louder later into the night until it turns into a full on club. No problema. I like how you roll, Ace. As I typically come here to write, it can be trying at times to find a seat at the communal table. Pro tip: just stand over someone’s shoulder and glare at them angrily until they feel uncomfortable enough to move. Ok… don’t really do that. There is some natural turnover if you just wait. In the meantime, check out the sexy programmers programming on their sexy dark screens, the bearded aspiring writers with their eyebrows furrowed over their nascent Man Booker novels, and various other random interesting people chatting away or furiously texting on their doodads. Such a great experience staying here. Thank you Monica for the awesome, friendly & easy check-in. All of the Ace staff that I interacted with went above and beyond to provide great service. My room was extremely nice, the bedding & mattress were so comfortable, the décor is cool but also cozy, the bathroom was great. I would stay here every time I came to NYC if I could. Thank you for the excellent, relaxing and restorative stay. I’m so looking forward to the next time I can stay here. The only suggestions for improvement that I have are really minor and these things didn’t detract enough from my stay to necessitate me giving less than a 5-star rating: –power outlets in the room were kind of hard to find and not really close to the bed. Not a huge deal, but was a little surprised since so much else is really well-thought out. –the front desk staff was awesome but I’m always a little bummed when someone assumes I’m a super tourist and tries to put me into an overpriced towncar instead of a cab(when cabs are readily available). This happened once with one staff member who was other wise great and I didn’t argue with him too much but was still slightly bugged. –lobby is crazy-crowded, even the section that is set aside for hotel guests, pretty much throughout the day. Like too crowded to get a seat unless you hover over someone who looks like they might be leaving in the next day or so. I get that this is a cool place to hang out, but there being no space to sit(while waiting for a cab, while drinking a cup of coffee) was a little disappointing a few different times.

Great place to work if you love people watching and having constant activity around you while you study. The lobby is kind of dim, but what attracts everyone to study or work here are the hotel lobby’s free wifi and hipster looking interior furnishings. What I don’t like: you can’t bring outside food, and at the hotel’s peak hours of business, seats are scant, especially at the long tables in the middle which have extra plugs. You have to come here either super early or super late for ample seating.

Recently I’ve been hanging around the west side of the city more and my friend brought me to this awesome gem. As soon as you enter Ace Hotel’s lobby you feel as though you’ve just stepped into a library/common area/bar. There are plenty of couches to plop yourself onto as well as long wooden desks, where I saw people actually doing work. The bar has a free flowing layout meaning you can sit wherever and the waitstaff will come around and take your drink order. Their drink menu isn’t very extensive but the environment and the ambiance is what I liked the most. We got there around 8 or so and finding a spot wasn’t difficult and the noise level was moderate for having a conversation. As the night progressed, more and more people started to flood in, but noise level remained acceptable for the most part. The staff does walk around frequently so your glass shouldn’t be empty for too long. Would I be back? Most definitely, and I’ll bring some friends along with me. This may soon be my new favorite go to bar.

HORRIBLEFOODSERVICE. I’ve been going to Ace Hotel for their coffee and tea for years. I made an error when I ordered the burger thinking if the atmosphere and coffee is great what could go wrong. First I ordered fries and decided a minute after placing the order that I wanted the burger as well. The young lady rolled her eyes and second guessed my request. I responded by saying I indeed wanted the burger as well so she rung a second order and I sat down. The burger arrives four minutes later and it was nearly cold, bloody, and with only the meat on a bun. I asked if they can warm it a little more and she responded with, «I’ll get the manager». He comes along and asks me «what is the problem?» I wanted to say, «well, things weren’t done right the first time so now I am enduring our situation». After justifying myself I finally got a second burger that I hoped was cooked properly. It was still bloody but at least it was warm. After all the B.S. my credit card statement shows they charged me for two burgers. DONOTORDERFOODHERE. ITISGREASYANDYOURHEARTWILLTHANKYOU. The drinks are great and the coffee is delightful. Here is a picture of the blood on the plate from a burger. It’s a lot of blood. The burger is $ 18 and comes with fries, no lettuce, tomato, I don’t think there was mayo. Never again.

I had a meeting here last night but I’m reviewing based on my stays there pre-Yelp. The rooms are cool, a little kitsch… but that’s Ace’s style. My main gripe is the lobby and it came flooding back last night… I was meeting someone who was staying in the hotel and we couldn’t find anywhere to sit in the dark lobby, it’s a sea of Apple Mac screens(presumably all working on the next breakthrough, disrupt, start-up tech sensation.) No problems there, but how many of these people populating the achingly self conscious lobby area are actually residents of the hotel? And surely the residents(you know, paying guests) take precedence… just a thought. It was always the lobby that was the issue for me with this hotel… why I moved down to the Hyatt at Union Sq on my frequent hotel stays in Manhattan before I moved here. Ace, you’re unlikely to change this model, but everyone I know who stays here as a patron has the same complaint, they feel they cannot use the lobby as its heaving 24⁄7.

Our stay at the Ace came at the end of December, just before Christmas and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. My boyfriend and I arrived a few hours prior to the 3 pm check in time and the hotel staff was wonderful about storing our bags while we went out and explored a bit before checking in to our room. The room itself was quiet(we were on the 10th floor), clean, and even came with a guitar, but the icing on the cake was the amazing view of the Empire State Building. It was so nice to see it lit up at night from that view! It rained a bit during our stay and the hotel had umbrellas to loan guests — very helpful since full sized umbrellas are tough to travel with. The hotel lobby is fun and pretty crowded, even on weekdays(we stayed during the week only). It wasn’t a problem for us that its a bit tricky to find seats in the lobby since it lends to the hotel’s atmosphere — we could have gone out to have a drink somewhere else but liked the ambiance and opted to stay. Eventually we were able to find a spot and relax with a drink before heading back out to explore. Another big plus is the hotel’s proximity to the Flatiron district where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. We didn’t get a chance to check out the Ace’s dining options, but we will definitely be back!

One of the biggest deal breakers for me when it comes to a hotel is uncleanliness. But I’m happy to say that this hotel was clean and very accommodating. I enjoyed my stay there. My room was spacious, and I loved that it was quiet at night therefore I was able to get a good nights sleep. I didn’t hang around in the lobby or dined there at all but it seemed pretty exciting and lively upon entrance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend!

Ace was suggested to me by a business associate. I had a short conference in NYC and was looking for a hotel with a good location in Manhattan. The Ace is centrally located and close to many great food options. Ace is a very hipster place. There was a record player in my room!(That’s definitely a first.) The rate(at $ 600 a night) far exceeded my room size/quality but I suppose that’s to be expected in the city. The staff at the Ace was super friendly. Zero complaints there. My complaint arises in the fact my room had no heat. Coming from L.A. the first night was extremely cold by my standards and I froze. To be fair, I didn’t call the front desk as I had already unpacked all my belongings and was too tired to switch rooms. However, there is ZERO excuse for a broken heater when the room is $ 600/night. Big disappointment. The lobby of the Ace is usually very loud, even during the day. It’s a social hang out and is full of people on laptops during the day and party people every night. If you’re looking for a quiet place to hide from the big, loud city, the Ace isn’t it. Overall, I’d call the Ace a 4 star hotel but I am knocking off a star for the broken heater. When in NYC again I’d consider staying at this hotel but I’d make sure the thermostat works before unpacking all my bags! 3 stars.

Normally, hotel lobbies are boring, filled with the same old same old furniture and barely used. But not this place! The massive lobby is packed with hipsters on their computers pretending to do work, but actually shopping for more hipster attire. The bar was pretty nice though. I was driving that day, so I had one of their non alcoholic drinks and it was very refreshing! Some sort of ginger, tonics water, cucumber concoction. I like!

I’ve just checked out of The Ace hotel, medium room 7 nights. It’s a truly unique experience. I’m a business consultant so I was intrigued to see the how effectively they use the space in relation to time, location and the changing environment. A coffee shop with a constant queue and great coffee, a bar that serves late night eats and is then open for breakfast. Staff that truly couldn’t do enough for us. Rooms where everything was there and clean. Lots of pros, oh yeah and right on Broadway, so you’d never get lost! Only con was bed wasn’t overly comfortable and having to leave!

I was really confused upon waking in because the Ace Hotel is exactly what it sounds like — a hotel. However it was really interesting because the lobby of the hotel also doubles as a bar, coffee shop, and general lounge area. It was hard to tell exactly what the general vibe was: you have people sitting with a cup of coffee and laptop doing work or reading a book, but you also have people hanging out and sipping a cocktail. It’s definitely not your standard hotel lobby, coffee shop, or bar, but an interesting mix of the three. The lobby is set up such that there were clusters of very large couches and we shared a couch with a couple and their dog having a drink, and a college student studying on his laptop. We didn’t want to interrupt the student studying but made friends with the couple’s dog. All in all come here for a chill and very laid back crowd!

Another great stay at the Ace– this time my spacious room was on the third floor and had a nice bathtub– the only drawback was there wasn’t a view like the last room(awesome one of the Empire State building) but I was informed of this at check-in and decided I’d rather enjoy the bathtub this time. :) Their beds are the most comfortable I’ve found in Manhattan(or anywhere, really), so relaxing in bed after a day of walking around is the best. My friend and I enjoyed an evening at the Ace’s lobby bar, they have several $ 14 signature cocktails and it was a casual yet fun vibe on Sunday. During the weekend nights they usually have cool DJs and it’s a bonus to stay here and have built-in nightlife. Small critique: The full-length mirror was in a dark corner/closet area of the room, but I couldn’t find a light to really use the mirror– a small overhead light there would be great since there wasn’t any natural light/windows nearby. Looking forward to returning in October!

Ace hotel is surely a «one of a kind» experience in terms of hotel stays. The place is decorated is a very«New York Style» way, dark deception with a great hall, art-decoy type furniture. The rooms and the floors also reflect this taste, and in all my travels is the first time that I have such an experience. In practical terms the rooms are a bit small, there is no real«wardrobe», but you have to judge from the aesthetic point of view which in my opinion here takes the scene and drives practicality away(a little). Bathrooms decorated with New York Subway tiles, everything conveys a very well thought concept that breaks away from the standard hotel rooms. All in all I appreciated the stay at Ace Hotel, beds were comfy(not huge but who cares), internet was good and service real nice. Will come back!

When this hotel was first booked, I was a little nervous. Was I cool hipster enough to fit in here? Probably not. I’m much more flip flops and leggings than trendy hipster flats and polka dot dresses. But it was overall a fantastic stay in NYC. The Ace is just… cool. The décor, the room set up, the punny directions/descriptions on the wall. It easily shines where hotels like The Standard wants to. The staff is incredibly friendly. I was treated more like a close friend rather than a random hotel guest. My room was huge. Something I did not see coming for Manhattan. I had more than enough room to spread out. My bed was a queen and comfortable. Clean sheets. You could potentially have a party in the bathroom — some bedrooms in Manhattan are that size. My TV was broken but honestly, how often are you in your hotel room when you’re in New York? The Ace is poppin all the time. No matter what time of day or night, there were always people in the lobby/lounges. It added another cool vibe to the hotel that you can’t get from a Hilton, Radisson, etc. The best part about the Ace in my opinion is the location. So close to Midtown, easy walk to work places/Harold Square yet also a block-ish away from the 28th and Broadway station taking you anywhere in the city. It’s a solid stay. Close to everything yet far enough away from the bulk of the tourist. I would recommend it to a friend for sure.

Really nice relaxing spot to have a drink. Came here after work with a friend and had a couple of glasses of wine. There was a DJ on deck playing some good tunes from the 90’s and early 2000’s, which was only right being that there is a bit more of a mature crowd. The lighting is extremely dim and the couches are very comfy. They also have waiter service for food as well. The bar was packed on a Tuesday so I would imagine that it is pretty full on the weekend as well. I would definitely recommend coming here to cozy up with a date or to just relax with some friends!

Came here to meet a friend for a post work catch up session. I’ve poked my head in and happily jumped on the opportunity. It was overly crowded and we didn’t stay but it was a nice mixed crowd. On one couch there were a group of under 40 girlfriends heavily engaged in some sweet gossip. .or they were plotting a huge political coup… not too sure. Standing around in their formal work attire were several groups of working men. Can’t be sure of the relationship status’ most of them conveniently had left hand in pockets… it was a cold day out. The bar had a string of lovely people. What I liked the most were the large tables with power outlets so people getting their Internet on were still able to socialize and not banished to a typical starbucks. The photo booth was cool. I saw a few couples duck in. I’d recommend this for a light place for a fun mini date, place to mack on some employed men, scope out crowds of ladies with room for laptop usage. I can’t wait to try their drinks.
